    Bruh just simple √24 ~ 4.9 Like 4.9² = 24.01 5 - 4.9 = .1 => √ 10/.1 => √100/1 ~ 10 or less then 10 Just simplest way😴

    Towards the end, which you factor out the sqrt(5), you are left with sqrt(6) + 2, not the sqrt(6) + 4 that you show.

    @@Mb-logic Ok, I am only barely literate, and almost completley inumerate, in my simpletons brain, letters of the alaphabet do not play any part in maths. In addition I am also dyslexic and come from a backround where education was an inaffordable luxury. Thanks for your interest, I hope that answers your question.

    How to really solve this problem? give me two numbers which multiplied together yield 35. Uhmmmmmmm?: 7 and 5? What is 7^2 - 5^2? Uhmmmmm? 24 ? What is 7+5? Uhmmmmmmmm? 12? Done.

    Solve via Eq 2. xy = 35. There are four factors 1, 5, 7, 35. Neither 1 nor 35 satisfies Eq. 3, therefore 5 and 7 are the possible answers. Setting x=7 and y=5 satisfies Eq. 1. Does not require 5 pages of work.

    By definition: 2ⁿ - 2ⁿ⁻¹ = 2ⁿ - 2ⁿ/2¹ = 2ⁿ - 2ⁿ/2 = 2(2ⁿ)/2 - 2ⁿ/2 = 4ⁿ/2 - 2ⁿ/2 = (4ⁿ-2ⁿ)/2 = 2ⁿ/2 = 2ⁿ/2¹ = 2ⁿ⁻¹ Even more generally: xⁿ - xⁿ⁻¹ = xⁿ⁻¹(x-1) And even _more_ generally, xⁿ - xⁿ⁻ᵏ = xⁿ(1-x⁻ᵏ)

    I did (x + iy)^2 = x^2 - y^2 + 2ixy, substituting the given values gives (x + iy)^2 = 24 + 70i. Taking the square root (using sqrt of modulus and a half-angle formula) gives x + iy = 7 + 5i, so x = 7 and y = 5 and x + y = 12.

    x-y x+y = 24 and xy =35 so we can assume x=7 and y =5 because 7+5 . 7-5 = 24 so x+y=7+5 and the answer is 12 there weren't. any limitation that x and y are real numbers or cımplex numbers etc so yours and mine are both correct. bless you..
