[Verse 1] I walked through the door with you, the air was cold But something 'bout it felt like home somehow And I left my scarf there at your sister's house And you've still got it in your drawer, even now [Verse 2] Oh, your sweet disposition and my wide-eyed gaze We're singing in the car, getting lost upstate Autumn leaves falling down like pieces into place And I can picture it after all these days [Pre-Chorus] And I know it's long gone and That magic's not here no more And I might be okay, but I'm not fine at all Oh, oh, oh [Chorus] 'Cause there we are again on that little town street You almost ran the red 'cause you were lookin' over at me Wind in my hair, I was there I remember it all too well [Verse 3] Photo album on the counter, your cheeks were turning red You used to be a little kid with glasses in a twin-sized bed And your mother's telling stories 'bout you on the tee-ball team You told me 'bout your past, thinking your future was me And you were tossing me the car keys, "Fuck the patriarchy" Key chain on the ground, we were always skipping town And I was thinking on the drive down, any time now He's gonna say it's love, you never called it what it was 'Til we were dead and gone and buried Check the pulse and come back swearing it's the same After three months in the grave And then you wondered where it went to as I reached for you But all I felt was shame and you held my lifeless frame [Verse 1] I walked through the door with you, the air was cold But something 'bout it felt like home somehow And I left my scarf there at your sister's house And you've still got it in your drawer, even now [Verse 2] Oh, your sweet disposition and my wide-eyed gaze We're singing in the car, getting lost upstate Autumn leaves falling down like pieces into place And I can picture it after all these days [Pre-Chorus] And I know it's long gone and That magic's not here no more And I might be okay, but I'm not fine at all Oh, oh, oh [Chorus] 'Cause there we are again on that little town street You almost ran the red 'cause you were lookin' over at me Wind in my hair, I was there I remember it all too well [Verse 3] Photo album on the counter, your cheeks were turning red You used to be a little kid with glasses in a twin-sized bed And your mother's telling stories 'bout you on the tee-ball team You told me 'bout your past, thinking your future was me And you were tossing me the car keys, "Fuck the patriarchy" Key chain on the ground, we were always skipping town And I was thinking on the drive down, any time now He's gonna say it's love, you never called it what it was 'Til we were dead and gone and buried Check the pulse and come back swearing it's the same After three months in the grave And then you wondered where it went to as I reached for you But all I felt was shame and you held my lifeless frame [Verse 4] They say all's well that ends well, but I'm in a new Hell Every time you double-cross my mind You said if we had been closer in age maybe it would have been fine And that made me want to die The idea you had of me, who was she? A never-needy, ever-lovely jewel whose shine reflects on you Not weeping in a party bathroom Some actress asking me what happened, you That's what happened, you You who charmed my dad with self-effacing jokes Sipping coffee like you're on a late-night show But then he watched me watch the front door all night, willing you to come And he said, "It's supposed to be fun turning twenty-one" [Verse 5] Time won't fly, it's like I'm paralyzed by it I'd like to be my old self again, but I'm still trying to find it After plaid shirt days and nights when you made me your own Now you mail back my things and I walk home alone But you keep my old scarf from that very first week 'Cause it reminds you of innocence and it smells like me You can't get rid of it 'Cause you remember it all too well, yeah [Chorus] 'Cause there we are again when I loved you so Back before you lost the one real thing you've ever known It was rare, I was there I remember it all too well Wind in my hair, you were there You remember it all Down the stairs, you were there You remember it all It was rare, I was there I remember it all too well [Verse 6] And I was never good at telling jokes, but the punch line goes "I'll get older, but your lovers stay my age" From when your Brooklyn broke my skin and bones I'm a soldier who's returning half her weight And did the twin flame bruise paint you blue? Just between us, did the love affair maim you, too? 'Cause in this city's barren cold I still remember the first fall of snow And how it glistened as it fell I remember it all too well [Outro] Just between us, did the love affair maim you all too well? Just between us, do you remember it all too well? Just between us, I remember it (Just between us), all too well Wind in my hair, I was there, I was there Down the stairs, I was there, I was there Sacred prayer, I was there, I was there It was rare, you remember it all too well Wind in my hair, I was there, I was there Down the stairs, I was there, I was there Sacred prayer, I was there, I was there It was rare, you remember it Wind in my hair, I was there, I was there Down the stairs, I was there, I was there Sacred prayer, I was there, I was there It was rare, you remember it Wind in my hair, I was there, I was there Down the stairs, I was there, I was there Sacred prayer, I was there, I was there It was rare, you remember it all too well [Spoken Outro] I love you guys so much

Just between us, did the love affair maim you too? 'Cause in this city's barren cold I still remember the first fall of snow And how it glistened as it fell I remember it all too well Just between us, did the love affair maim you all too well? Just between us, do you remember it all too well? Just between us (just between us) I remember it all too well (wind in my hair) (I was there, I was there) (Down the stairs, I was there, I was there) (Sacred prayer, I was there, I was there) (It was rare, you remember it all too well) (Wind in my hair, I was there, I was there) (Down the stairs, I was there, I was there) (Sacred prayer, I was there, I was there) (It was rare, you remember it all too well) (Wind in my hair, I was there, I was there) (Down the stairs, I was there, I was there) (Sacred prayer, I was there, I was there) (It was rare, you remember it) (Wind in my hair, I was there, I was there) (Down the stairs, I was there, I was there) (Sacred prayer, I was there, I was there) todo, mientras yo trataba de alcanzarte Pero lo único que sentí fue vergüenza Y tú sostuviste mi cuerpo sin vida Y sé que que pasó ya hace mucho tiempo Y no había nada más que pude haber hecho Y me he olvidado de ti lo suficiente Como para olvidar el por qué necesitaba hacerlo Porque ahí estamos otra vez, en medio de la noche Bailando alrededor de la cocina, con la luz de la refrigeradora Bajando las escaleras, yo estaba ahí Lo recuerdo todo muy bien Y ahí estamos de nuevo, cuando nadie tenía que saberlo Me mantuviste como un secreto, pero yo te mantuve como un juramento Sagrada oración y nos prometimos Recordarlo todo muy bien, sí Tal vez fue una falta de comunicación Tal vez yo pedí mucho Pero tal vez esto era una obra maestra hasta que lo destrozaste por completo Corriendo asustada, yo estaba ahí Lo recuerdo todo muy bien Y me llamas una vez más solo para romperme como una promesa Tan casualmente cruel con la excusa de ser honesto Soy un trozo de papel arrugado tirado aquí Porque lo recuerdo todo, todo, todo Dicen que todo lo que se acaba es porque es mejor así Pero estoy en el nuevo infierno cada segundo Conduces por mi mente Dijiste que si hubieramos sido mas cercanos en edad Tal vez hubiera estado bien Y eso me hizo querer morir La idea que tenías de mí, ¿quién era ella?

She’s a soprano the higher cis female voice type so this version is for tenors the higher cis male voice type. Also no cis guy is going to sing the original within this level of breathyness because it’s so high it would be hard enough to support those notes already and then add the fact your letting all that air escape making it near impossible to sing it the same way a soprano would. You can’t sing that high as a cis male tenor while letting all that air out cuz it wouldn’t be supported due to lack of air pressure caused by the air freely flowing out to almost cover the voice to add texture to it. The literally the opposite of breath support and it would damage the voice. At this range it is possible because it fits the tenor range. You can have the breath pressure while letting some of it escape and create the breathy texture.

THIS SONG IS LIKE THE REAL JAMES... (I can't breathe right now.. Is beautiful and I get this goosebumps :') also if I guy would ever cheat on me (hope not) I would litro want an apology like this.. Idk why but betty reminds me of me and I've never been cheated before.. I also love cardigans and James sounds soooo muuuch like my type obviously not a cheater but a guy on a skateboard.. Apologizing even though is too late ... It makes my heart melt.)

Our coming-of-age has come and gone Suddenly the summer, it's clear I never had the courage of my convictions As long as danger is near And it's just around the corner, darling 'Cause it lives in me No, I could never give you peace But I'm a fire, and I'll keep your brittle heart warm If your cascade ocean wave blues come All these people think love's for show But I would die for you in secret The devil's in the details, but you got a friend in me Would it be enough if I could never give you peace? Your integrity makes me seem small You paint dreamscapes on the wall I talk shit with my friends It's like I'm wasting your honor And you know that I'd swing with you for the fences Sit with you in the trenches Give you my wild, give you a child Give you the silence that only comes when two people understand each other Family that I chose, now that I see your brother as my brother Is it enough? But there's robbers to the east, clowns to the west I'd give you my sunshine, give you my best But the rain is always gonna come if you're standing with me But I'm a fire, and I'll keep your brittle heart warm If your cascade ocean wave blues come All these people think love's for show But I would die for you in secret The devil's in the details, but you got a friend in me Would it be enough if I could never give you peace? Would it be enough if I could never give you peace? Would it be enough if I could never give you peace? Traducir al español

Keep your helmet, keep your life, son Just a flesh wound, here's your rifle Crawling up the beaches now "Sir, I think he's bleeding out" And some things you just can't speak about With you, I serve With you, I fall down, down Watch you breathe in Watch you breathing out, out Something med school did not cover Someone's daughter, someone's mother Holds your hand through plastic now "Doc, I think she's crashing out" And some things you just can't speak about Only 20 minutes to sleep But you dream of some epiphany Just one single glimpse of relief To make some sense of what you've seen With you, I serve With you, I fall down, down (down) Watch you breathe in Watch you breathing out, out With you, I serve With you, I fall down (down), down (down) Watch you breathe in Watch you breathing out (out), out Only 20 minutes to sleep But you dream of some epiphany Just one single glimpse of relief To make some sense of what you've seen

What did you think I'd say to that? Does a scorpion sting when fighting back? They strike to kill and you know I will You know I will What do you sing on your drive home? Do you see my face in the neighbor's lawn? Does she smile? Or does she mouth, "Fuck you forever"? Every time you call me crazy I get more crazy What about that? And when you say I seem angry I get more angry And there's nothin' like a mad woman What a shame she went mad No one likes a mad woman You made her like that And you'll poke that bear 'til her claws come out And you find something to wrap your noose around And there's nothin' like a mad woman Now I breathe flames each time I talk My cannons all firin' at your yacht They say, "Move on", but you know, I won't And women like hunting witches, too Doing your dirtiest work for you It's obvious that wanting me dead Has really brought you two together Every time you call me crazy I get more crazy What about that? And when you say I seem angry I get more angry And there's nothin' like a mad woman What a shame she went mad No one likes a mad woman You made her like that And you'll poke that bear 'til her claws come out And you find something to wrap your noose around And there's nothin' like a mad woman I'm takin' my time Takin' my time 'Cause you took everything from me Watchin' you climb Watchin' you climb Over people like me The master of spin Has a couple side flings Good wives always know She should be mad Should be scathing like me But no one likes a mad woman What a shame she went mad You made her like that
