Ok, lets see how many of us can spend 75% if cost of living is more than 100%. Hopeless if you arent above the age of 50.

For boomers and senior citizens, the current market and economy are unnecessarily harder. I'm used to simply purchasing and holding assets, which doesn't seem applicable to the current volatile market, and inflation is catching up with my portfolio. My biggest concern is whether I'll survive after retirement.

Yes, gold is a great investment and a good bet against the devaluating dollar, been holding some for awhile now, I’m grateful my adviser’s moment by moment changes in the market are lightening quick, cos who know how much losses I would’ve had by now.

The expected returns on U.S. equities are only 4.3% and on international equities are 7.7%, before accounting for taxes, inflation, and fees. Don't expect to get rich quick from investing.

Yes but rent can go wildly up each year where a mortgage payment will stay the same. I am trying to make this decision in a few months when I move back to Ohio. I really hate renting.

So the theory of trickle down theory is complete garbage. It’s more like hosing up from the middle class and the bottom poor.

Your stats a logical, but you forget the fact that the stock market has had the greatest decade ever in history. If the young generation can’t afford a house, why not invest to grow their wealth? Owning a house is not the only way to build wealth.

I did job counseling for my field after successfully placing a job in the field. This is what I learned. 1) A job hunt is a full-time job. Each application is an opportunity to learn something, about the field, yourself, & the process of job hunting. 2) A rejected application, a 'no,' is a step towards 'yes.' It is all part of a process. Employers cannot hire everyone who would do the job well. Being rejected generally has nothing to do with you, your qualifications, or a job interview. 3) Most job hunters will go through the process several times in the course of a career. Don't think landing a job is the end of it. Again, learn from every step of the experience. You will likely need those skills again. 4) Get the broadest education you can. Everything you know can contribute to what you can accomplish in a job. The narrower your skill set & interests are, the less likely you can be flexible, creative, & versatile later on. 5) Every job involves multiple tasks & responsibilities that aren't on the page of a job description or a resume/CV. Go back & analyze every job (or volunteer, job shadowing, etc.) you've done. What are all the experiences you had in that job? What did you do well? What were you best at? What did you enjoy the most? From this analysis, what did you learn that you can build on? 6) Keep a job hunting diary. Write down every aspect of the process, reflecting on each part of it. Keep a positive attitude. If you're doing everything you can, then reward yourself for that. You can't do more than everything you can do. 7) No matter how much you need a job, do not accept a job that isn't a good fit, or if something doesn't smell right about it. You don't want to have to repeat the process six months or a year down the line, or live with a bad fit. Turning down a job is the only point where the power is in the corner of the job seeker. Use that power if necessary. 8) Think broadly about your job skills beyond the specific field you trained for. If you have a strong background, a number of previous positions, & a versatile education, you should be able to do a wide variety of things professionally. 9) If you give up & just take a job at a convenience store (or the equivalent), you are not underemployed. According to the US Labor Department, you have changed fields. So stay the course. 10) Finally, don't put all your eggs in one basket, pinning your hopes on just one position. If you don't get it, you'll be heartbroken. Diversify. Have a number of applications out at any given time. If one falls through, chalk it up. Job hunting is a numbers game. You have to go through a lot of numbers to turn up the one that yields the prize. Good luck!

Buy the gas your car requires if you want your car to run more efficiently meaning saving you money. Don't put cheaper gas into your car if it requires premium...don't waste premium gas on a car that can run on the cheap stuff. Info is on your gas tank door usually.

Bottom line is prioritizing your expenditures and you’re good to go. The 50 30 20 rule is quite helpful. 50% on necessities like rent food and bills, 30% in debts / emergency fund / investing / savings and 20% on entertainment. However, in this economy 50% on necessary expenses is next to impossible. So spend whatever is needed on expenses and apply 30 20 on whatever is left for the other 2 sections. If you can bring down entertainment to 15%, that’s money you’re saving for your future self with compound interest

This works as long as you aren't spending 60% of your income on rent itself. The world has changed, and a lot of people can't save money or invest it because they spend it all on living expenses.

The 1 % save 50 % + of their income, and they don't need handy % rules to do it. I was actually expecting a more harsh description of what they do, and how it might be out of reach, but this is more of a 'poor person starter guide'. Nothing wrong with that, but its not what is in the title of the video.
