    Thanks very much for your kind words, I'm 95% sure I don't have Kelly Marie's "Feels Like I'm In Love", having so many vinyl singles, it's difficult to remember every single one that I own, and sometimes there were occasions where I was limited to how many I could buy being on a low wage back in 1980, at the time, I was only 6 months or so into my first job after leaving school. Back around August to November 1980 there were so many great tracks coming out that I loved, focusing on Jazz funk (Shakatak, Level 42, George Duke, Tom Browne singles and LPs etc) then the lesser chart hits Roberta Flack and a few others before going onto the big hits, back then it wasn't easy to get these tracks after a few weeks, at least in a small town on the west coast of Scotland. Glad you found the channel and enjoying the golden age of the 12inch vinyl single, I've plenty more to come from my collection for a few years yet at least....and that's even after posting around 600 posts....

    @@The70s80scollection Thanks for your quick and kind response. No, I get it. Music lover. And too much to go through in such a huge collection. And low wages in those days as well. Not a good combination haha. But you did great. Born myself in 1964, I relate to your story. Great days around 1980 for popular music. My friend was really into disco and he dragged me everywhere haha. I'm happy there's plenty more to come 🙂 Keep 'em coming brother. Much appreciated indeed. I always loved Kelly Marie's "It Feels Like I'm In Love" and never got or saw a 12'' of the track, hence my request. I also, because you mentioned her, always loved Roberta's Flack version of "Do What You Gotta Do"; So incredibly beautiful on that Black & White second album of hers (forgot the name). I will be checking out your uploads. Take care. Catch you later.

    Thank you for keeping the golden years of the Top 40 alive. I owned a Rotel midi hifi system in 1984 with Pioneer record deck. I recorded onto TDK C90 and then AD90 cassettes from 1979 till around 1991. Sadly, I was persuaded by a former friend to get rid of hundreds of my tape collection. I had copied quite a few to recordable CD, but having those tapes to look at with the various musings written inside the inlay cards was quite nice. Happy days.

  • @The70s80scollection
    @The70s80scollection22 күн бұрын

    My wife on a few occasions (when moving to a new home), asked me why do you still have that box of old cassettes, she was very quickly informed those old cassettes will out last you, if you keep that attitude up, still have those cassettes and surprisingly still the same wife!!!. and another point, blank cassettes were not cheap, chrome and metal ones at least, let alone the cost of a decent HiFi system, for the most I had Sony or Denon, even today that's what I have. And as you say part of that listening experience was the inlay card for cassettes or vinyl covers/inlay sleeves, all the notes, info or scribblings on the many mix tapes I made....Happy days indeed....

    I was 15 when this came out. I had a modest stereo setup..... Pioneer receiver/JVC speakers/Technics turntable.....I remember sitting in my bedroom being totally blown away by the wall of sound......Gino's voice, the keyboards, the ambience of this recording. 15 years old and completely blown away. Such a great time to grow up.

    Almost the same for me, I first heard Storm At Sunup in Dec 1975 aged 13, couldn't believe what I was hearing, Gino's vocal range and that wonderful music, I'd never heard anything like it before, pestered my dad to get that album and the Powerful People album at our local record store, at the time we had recently moved back to CapeTown from the UK, and Gino's music was popular and played on the radio. When we moved back to the UK in early 77 Gino was not that well known in Southwest Scoltand and the first time I heard Gino on UK radio was I Just Wanna Stop in 78. For sure magical times!.

    Hello, as well as having 100s and 100s of vinyl and CDs I also have a big collection of music videos and the clip I used in this post was from an episode of Top Of The Pops, here in the UK it was a weekly show that played the weeks biggest and newest hits, this particular episode was from early November 1981. About 10 to 15 years ago the BBC started to repeat these old episodes of TOTP (from 1976 until the show ended in the 2000s) on one of its HD digital channels, I recorded most of them and had been waiting for this very episode as I had watched it originally in 1981 and had it recorded on Beta, until someone recorded a film over it. That is how I ended up with a copy of the quality that you see.

    Gracias, siempre es bueno saber el trabajo que pongo en estos videos, que personas como tú no solo aprecian la música sino todos esos pequeños detalles que pongo en ellos, nuevamente gracias por su continuo apoyo. Esa plataforma Sony KA6ES fue la última plataforma de casete ES que Sony lanzó en lo que a finales de los 90 fue el final del formato de casete compacto. La plataforma pesa un poco menos de 10 kg, está construida como un tanque, estoy leyendo el día en que algo falla porque para reparar estas platinas de casetes más antiguas se requiere un especialista, aquí en el Reino Unido, B&W suspendió su servicio de reparación hace algunos años. atrás. ThankYou!, it's always great to know the work I put into these videos that people like yourself not only appreciate the music but all those little details I put into them, again thanks for your continued support. That Sony KA6ES deck was the last ES Cassette deck Sony released at what was by the late 90s the end of the Compact Cassette format. The deck comes in at a little under 10 Kg, built like a tank, I'm reading the day something fails on it as getting these older cassette decks repaired requires a specialist, here in the UK, B&W stopped their repair service a few years ago.

    @@The70s80scollection Yes I do, what is always surprising fact for me that I use here the Speakers from my first Hifi System which are 35 Years old and still sound fantastic in this room of course with a newer Amplifier and Cables. And I often catch myself listening to the music of my Youth like Maxi Priest the Upload you have, because I see that I want to get close or Experience again the Feeling of those times where one was not troubled by the Responsibilities of Life and so on, meaning more free in the Mind. And with a Super Revealing System it doesn't work that well because it takes away the Charme of Innocence which was more present in younger Age, so the older Speakers of that Time where I listened to the Songs is more likely bringing the Feelings again. And of course I listened to Tapes in the Car or with the Walkman Headset under the Helmet of the 80 ccm Bike. I still remember when I was driving secretly my Mother car when I was 16 and had no driving license then, the Song Jack Talking by Dave Stewart with the Spiritual Cowboys in the Car was so Touching or Beautiful that I remember strongly even today. Sorry for the long response, have a great Summer too and I am sure on or another Upload from you will come and surprise me again and remember the Time of Youth again. Thanks Stewart 👍🏾
