    That Dandy 2-Speed Electric Powder Trickler is going for $125!!!! I'm going to have to make my own. Any home hobbyist should have a bunch of crap laying around they they should be able to fab something up! A piece of tube, an old cell phone, a funnel, a chunk of something to stand in for the aluminum, some scrap wires, a crap switch, a couple batteries, hell, the switches and wire can be had from a scrap microwave.

    I purchased a RCBS Chargemaster lite and used it for 18 months, it then stopped working. The touch pad will not always respond, sometimes it will not calibrate, it will not stabilize at the 100gm step. It will also not turn off, I have to unplug it. It was used once a week or so, calibrated every time. RCBS says well it is over a year old, so sorry not covered under warranty. Here is a repair shop and they can maybe help. I have not called the third party repair shop number they gave me yet. Don't know what the cost will be to repair it. Safe to say I would not recommend an RCBS scale.

    Looks like a nice press. However, for a crippled person, this press looks like it requires the operator to be standing in order to operate the handle properly. Is this so? And how does this press work for a wildcatter who needs something with the guts to form and shape new cases? All these KZread vids ignore that part of their reviews. Thanks for the vid.

    The current price at $296 when comparing to MDT website pricing and pricing else where to similar looking MDT Chassis looks like a real good deal. This confirms my believe that MDT chassis are grossly over priced(especially the ones without stocks). I have come across quite a few concerning complaints in customer reviews that Brownells doesn't respond to customers whenever they attempt to contact them about issues with the chassis such as the bolt rubbing against the chassis or the chassis having all kind of scratch marks on them(maybe they are just selling MDT blemish chassis). That said the $296 (current a sale price) is a good one so i will still pull the trigger on the purchase. Will make sure to record the opening of the package and condition of the Chassis in the event Brownells decides to play games.🤨

    Nice video, Joe. I’ve had my Co-Ax for 12 yrs. now and I love it! I de-cap, re-size and prime on the press. I load about 300 rounds per year on it, 60 rounds per batch. Once you get into a rhythm, priming on the press is easy. I do seat my bullets with an arbor press, though. You just can’t beat an L.E. Wilson In-Line die.

    I had this issue with Lee’s seating die from the pacemaker set. I got 5 rounds to the correct depth and thereafter the die started making rings and bullets started getting stuck in the die and not seating them to the correct depth. Read about other people having this issue with the same bullet, 150gr Barnes ttsx 308. I was also able to pull the bullets out by hand atter this. Could the seating die be causing this by pulling on the bullet, or have I screwed up on neck tension?

    Good info, but you should be using a tweezers or hemostat type tool to pick up the weight and set it on the scale. Oil from your skin will add weight and make the calibration weight out of spec. I use to calibrate lab scales and you don't touch the calibration weights ever with your bare hands.

    Just purchased a V3 two weeks ago. I'm looking to build a economical mount that doesn't attach to the barrel. Your design looks like the best one I've seen so far. I love the QD mount and adjustability for different rifles.

  • @johnpaulyates1655
    @johnpaulyates1655 Жыл бұрын

    Hey, the Rebel is a good press, especially when you put a Hornady Lock-N-Load bushing system in it.

  • @carbonunit57
    @carbonunit57 Жыл бұрын

    @@johnpaulyates1655 , the Rebel is a great press and a better value than the Co-ax because it cost less. However, there are some features on the Co-Ax I really like the the jaws so it was worth it to spend more money to get a press that I will have for at least 20 years.

  • @johnpaulyates1655
    @johnpaulyates1655 Жыл бұрын

    @@carbonunit57 Well, I believe that the Rebel is a slightly better value, but not by much. Not when you’re looking at the value of the press over decades. If I had to buy a Rebel, I’d have to get a bushing kit for it and bushings for all of my dies ($$$). I’d have to buy an RCBS Universal Hand Primer ($73). Then there’s the worry about getting spent carbon and glass in my ram during decapping. And over time, as with all ram based presses, you have to worry about “slop” appearing in the ram. The Co-Ax puts no lateral stress on your bench like other presses do. You can literally hold the press down with a C clamp, but mine is bolted down. If you really think about it, it’s WELL worth the money. Whoever created the press in the 60’s is a damn genius.

    Just ordered a Area 419 sidewinder magnum brake for my 300 Winchester magnum. The ability to take off quickly and time it was what sold me. I have a Area 419 hellfire on my Ruger Precision chambered in 243 Winchester. Works great. Great review.

    This method work's if you only have to remove a little bit of material to make the stem work. If you have a Lee seating stem you can send them a sample bullet and they'll make you a seating stem that fits your type of bullet perfectly. Cost is around $26, I did this for my .308 Hornady FMJBT bullets and no more rings.

    I recently bought a FA coax instead, cheaper. The shell holder plates are less than acceptable. They are cheap metal, unlike the Forster shell holders. I don't feel comfortable pulling bullets, or using my Lee collet neck sizing die. The shell holder knob studs splines got a bit stripped using a opened end wrench but I used red lock tite and that resolved that problem, I only use my fingers to rotate the shell holder sizes.. You really can't put alot of stress on either press as far as I'm concerned. I saw a couple of pics of the shell holder retaining plate bent, from.. probably stuck cases. I learned the right amount unique case lube and have no issues with unwanted stress on the press. The FA press is a great substitute for the Forster IF you treat it right.

    I wouldn’t use the Frankford Arsenal M Press if you gave me one. The damn things are made in CHINA 🇨🇳. A friend had one and he ended up, you guessed it, throwing it into the trash. “A waste of $200”, I told him. Nothing but cheap junk and buying it puts pressure on other manufacturers to make their presses in that communist shit hole. He ended up buying an RCBS Rebel Press and a RCBS Universal hand primer, which is what he should have done to begin with. I wish he would have bought a Co-Ax like mine, but he liked the Rebel. The Co-Ax, the Rebel and MEC Marksman are the three best single stage presses on the market, bar none!!! All Made In AMERICA 🇺🇸, by the way.

    The thing about all this is who just leaves their chronograph on their riffle every time they go to the range to shoot all it is designed to do is so you can figure out the velocity of your round and that is makes no sense to keep in on your gun all the time
