Nah. Van de Poel just can't ride mountain bikes! See also his crash on a slight bend at the Glasgow Worlds last year. The guy's an amateur; and that's why he's not riding the Olympics this year.

You didnt consider start/stops. You will accelerate quicker on carbon rims than alloy/rim brake rims. Its just calculated value of constant movement.

The one image is Chris Boardman on the Eddy Merckx bike not Obree. Although Boardman was riding the superman position which he devised after his first position got banned. Awesome cyclist and aerodynamicist.

Will another amateur beat the pros in this year's Olympic road race? No race radios really made the race more unpredictable. Thats why amateurs have now dominated the pros.

Bike weight does matter. It’s just finding the balance between what you want to spend. What’s more important is the 20lb that a person is overweight vs 2 lb on a bicycle.

How long will the gravel bike craze last? How many gravel bikes will be sold to people who will never ride on anything but pavement? How many people will buy a gravel bike and not like it because it’s not as good on pavement as a road bike?

CAAD 13 $2,325 Old CAAD 9 Swiss DT R460 (105 Hubs) with Vittoria Rubino Tires (New Take-Offs) $200. New Complete R7000 105 Groupset $400. $600 for uogrades. I figure the bike was worth $450 before the upgrade. Maybe $600 after. So I'm out $450 instead of twice that when I drove the CAAD 13 out of the door.

Knowing your goals is so important when buying a bike. Would I love to have a $5000+ bike? Sure! But like the video says, I wouldn't be getting the maximum benefit out of it. I just enjoy cycling, and the health benefits it brings. I'm not looking to race / compete. So, a cheaper bike will suit me just fine. I see the same mistake in photography. People will spend thousands on all the top-of-the-line equipment, only to take snapshots at family events or in the park. Gear Acquisition Syndrome.

I imagine that if I were putting a motor into the seat tube, I would certainly use some sort of screening between that and the seat tube itself to prevent the testing device from detecting it, though if an MRI scan is used, it might be different. There is no more than a suspicion here but I am concerned about Roglic putting the chain back on and spinning the cranks himself if he intended to change bikes anyway. I do not have ceramic bearings or a chain which is waxed but when I put the rear wheel down after spinning the cranks, it stops dead and does not bounce.

Anyone who spends 1k or more for a freaking bike, has more money than brains. I buy used. The most I ever spent for a bike was $300 and that's because I was new at the cycle buying game.

Forget the ceramic bearings or what he touched on the bars... if he had a motor why would he spin the cranks by hand? That's something you only do if you dropped a chain or are checking shifting function. If you're checking a motor you plush a button to see if it spins.

I’m 60 now I’ve had two professional bike fits in 18 years, in that time I’ve had 8 bikes and my saddle height has changed by 1-5 mm. My only concern with an integrated seat post is comfort and the high end race bikes are not comfortable. Hundred mile rides beat you and your back up! Who adjusts their saddle constantly and more than 5-10mm?

After two years of research, and procrastination, i bought a B2 in last year's Black Friday sale. Although I have an S & S coupled travel bike I needed my carbon cross bike with hydro disc brakes to do Paris-Roubaix sportive. I was concerned about dropping the fork from the frame and reinstalling but it worked out fine. It's a 54cm and I bought the B2-R for road bikes. Two months after purchase they released info saying the the B2-MTB, still undersize, would mean the fork didn't need to be dropped. Ah well. Oh, I spent quite a while trying to strap the fork to the top tube or down tube but in the end it fitted better just loose laying in the bottom of the case under the frame. Second tip, take the disc rotors off the wheels and store them in one of the end pockets which are protected by the rigid tray. Rotors often get warped in travel. I loved that the case is small enough for a regular sedan or hatchback cab and can be folded down into its tray for easy storage for those of us apartment dwellers. On my trip to Brussels last month I saved $400 CAD in bike fees with Air Canada ($100 per leg). Even the check-in staff at Brussels, where they are incredibly aware of what size cases bikes can go in, didn't question my "therapy equipment"! So, Orucase paid my bar bill for the fortnight! No mean feet in Belgium!

If you do have the fitness, than you should be riding a proper race bike, but it doesn’t have to be expensive. If you do “want” an expensive bike, than Litespeed Titanium or Time Carbon frames should be a good investment, not those mainstream scam carbons.

Ive been riding Trieye the 1st ever formal pair of sunglasses a total revelation in cycling safety for two plus years after a almost fatal cycling accident as a semi pro 13 years ago. If it wasnt for Trieye id never have started road again. These should be main headline cycling news. It will bring back road cyclist. Why these are not main headline news is likely due to the brand loyalty and sheep mentality most cyclist get locked into. Im not one of those. Trieye has so sinked with my riding road i cross duel lanes never looking behind me. I have ZERO blind spots unlike a car or motorcycle. I can warn groups well ahead of time of on coming trailers behind cars somethung garmin will not pick up. It has totally givem me control of the road versus sitting on my bike a helpless victim. Itsthe quickest growing cycling glasses on the market yet few road bike shops stock these thanks to their brand loyalty. Sad but true locked in blinkers
