    Can anyone tell me any more about the rubber cushions on the clutch pack ? I placed them all correctly as in the diagram with new clutch pads . And have the clutch adjusted right . But when trying to ride of the start in first . I hear some noise and have some on and off hesitation while moving . Bikes not moving with ease and freely ? Can’t get out of first or go more then 20 ft . My only other thought then the clutch is gears have sat for years and maybe some rust or bad bearings ???? Was trying to find a video on KZread for these type of clutches with the rubber cushions to no luck .

    Are you talking about the large grooved O-ring ones? It was about 15 years ago, So my memory is a little foggy, but I remember having this exact same conversation on the forums, and the collective opinion was that it was okay to remove those. I believe they were designed to help dampen the clutch, but our modern motorcycle appetites don't really want to have a dampened clutch. We want a clutch that grabs and sticks well. Good luck!

    @@stevenmichaelis yes ! I don’t understand the purpose and how they are supposed to work ? Are they supposed to slide with the friction plates ? Because they slide on tight and don’t move on the basket . Also is the cushion groove supposed to fit on the friction plate ? And are mine old and shrunk ? Hope I can explain that correctly and make it understandable .

    I'm a formal motorcycle mechanic by trade and this method was the first style I learned and later down the road I realized that it isn't an accurate method, using a multimeter only tells you when that gap opens in hairline measurements the beep stops in that moment, meaning the spark is not accurately gonna fire when that meter stops beeping, its not 100% usually when its around .25 to .35mm depending on the bike and year usually in the 80% range it will fire at the plug, you need a timing light to be more certain trust me on that, makes all the difference

    I just had a crash after hitting a small pothole and unexpectedly bottomed out the suspension completely. Caused my kickstand bend inwards and I had to do a lot of pulling to try and get it off the tyre hhhh Really appreciate the video. Just to clarify, you used the tool provided to unbolt that assembly.

    Top mobo housing bolts, seems the cast housing never accounted for cast shrinkage. Shims required on inside. To widen the stanchion. Top housing clamp bolts should not be torqued. Due to deflection. Unless you use a 3mm stanchion tubes but then trolley handle won't fit inside. The twist retaining bolt is most important. Tap a new hole. To assist with twisting of the pedal hanger stanchion. It's also help prevent the stanchion pulling out. So that aftermarket mod is indeed critical flaws and lacking. It's a BEGODE it needs work to be good.

    Hi, great job getting this historic bike on the road. I am seeing the year of the bike listed as 1964 in some places and 1966 in others. I wondered if you could help settle that for me. The frame number would be CB77-4xxxxx for a 64 and it would be 1 digit longer for a 65 or later, e.g., CB77-10xxxxx. Thank you!

    Hey Steven, I have recently acquired the same turntable not long ago and have done a couple repairs to it as well. The only thing that is not actually working currently is when pressing the “play” button, the tray closes and the thingy clamps down on the record but the tone arms do not move at all. Would you think this is an electrical problem or something with the motor? Thanks for any advice.

    Not to worry, the other main competitors in the Uwheel world are fast clueing in to fancy products. They DO care about maintenance, waterproofing etc. Begode(Gotway) won't be around in 5 years. All those pro Begode KZread influences same.

    Here’s a link to the video I helped Kingsong make, that explained the non-linear linkage design of the S18. It’s the reason why their design works so well. the ratio varies from 2.7:1 to 1:1, so for greater shock travel the suspension becomes stiffer. So it has good small bump sensitivity, as well as good big bump absorption ability without bottoming out. kzread.info/dash/bejne/f4RrzpuEprOTfMo.html

    It seems the bad geometry is especially noticeable with heavier riders but not for a lighter 150lb one. The weight of the rider is the most important variable when setting up a better than stock suspension and maybe lighter riders would require only a coil shock change to achieve similar results requiring a geometry change for heavier riders?

    So if I understood correctly: The stock suspension geometry is dumb, but salvageable. Just by replacing the stock shock with a shock with twice the travel makes it perform much better?

  • @stevenmichaelis
    @stevenmichaelis Жыл бұрын

    That is incorrect. The suspension linkages need to be replaced it completely reworked (and a new shock) to have a correctly functioning suspension.
