Thank you both for taking the time to educate us. My understanding is that the FDIC limits may be irrelevant this time because the FDIC may not have the resources to cover the losses this time around. Is there any truth to this?

Elon Musk, who has Asperger's syndrome (a type of autism), disclosed his condition during a 2021 "Saturday Night Live" episode. In a surprising move, he recently pledged to donate $45 million per month to Trump's campaign until the election. Talk about putting your money where your mouth is! wow

It should all be tied to the price of real estate which generally holds its value with inflation. My house has tripled in value.

Walmart has a monopoly in rural areas. Folks don't have a choice. Target is woke. Target is usually in urban areas where people have more choices in a reasonable distance.

The same thing happened in Vietnam during the period of French colonial rule. Only the target was rats--not cobras. The locals starting breeding rats to collect more bounties. What we subsidize, we get more of. (Think illegal immigration, for example. Turn off the welfare electromagnet, and they will deport themselves.)

The Chinese/Roosky meeting note was good; didn't know that. Concerning. And concerning that the Fed needs debt buyers for money not backed by anything intrinsic. Showing a refrigerator piece of paper means nothing. *EXPLAIN* the x and y-axes.... Showing that page just propagates fear - shame on Greg. Preachers do the same thing; they quote - - - how Paul died, how James died, that Jesus is coming back *before* the 7 years to make "Believers" feel good (without any tangible references) which is heretical, why Queen Vashti would not appear (assumptively bec they wanted her nude) and so on. EXPLAIN - and give your reference(s).

Transcript 0:00 hello everybody some missives lend 0:03 themselves to the written word and 0:05 you've seen that over the last couple of 0:06 weeks from me this one though needs to 0:09 come verbally because there's a lot to 0:11 unpack here so we're going to get to 0:13 what the FED has done and which side it 0:16 has chosen but first I've got to set it 0:17 up so you understand how this works so 0:20 when the treasury issues debt how does 0:23 it work it actually isn't very 0:25 complicated it works kind of like an 0:27 auction house and it's not somebody 0:29 going hey 100 but it's very similar we 0:33 brought this week $125 billion of debt 0:37 to the market place and there are biders 0:40 out there they're not raising paddles 0:42 but kind of like that and they bid on 0:45 the bonds well okay if you don't have as 0:48 many biders you got to push that 0:50 interest rate up to attract people to 0:52 buy if you have a whole bunch of biders 0:55 you might be able to drop the interest 0:56 rates you can sell them and not have to 1:00 pay as much interest but it really is 1:01 that simple so given that about 10 days 1:07 ago the Federal Reserve had their big 1:09 meeting and the question was would they 1:11 raise rates would they try to lower 1:13 rates and here was the Dilemma if you 1:16 raise the rates you're going to slam us 1:18 into a recession everybody knows what's 1:20 going on with real estate right now make 1:21 rates higher you got to be kidding me do 1:24 you really want to do that just before 1:25 an 1:26 election but here was the opposite what 1:29 if they lowered rates well that was 1:31 going to fire off inflation and you 1:33 really want to have a whole bunch of 1:35 inflation heading toward the election H 1:38 so what did the FED decide to do well 1:40 the headline said fed does nothing they 1:43 neither raise nor lower and then they ja 1:46 boned it a little bit but here's what 1:48 the FED did do the FED did something 1:53 where they chose their path and they 1:55 chose inflation so let's go back to our 1:58 auction the the Federal Reserve is not 2:01 allowed to show up at the auctions it's 2:03 illegal and it makes perfect sense the 2:06 FED can print as much money if it as it 2:08 wants If the Fed could show up at every 2:09 auction they could buy theoretically 2:13 every single Government Bond at every 2:15 single auction and basically own all the 2:18 government's debt thus it's illegal but 2:21 now I'm going to take you back to yester 2:23 year let's go back to co here's what 2:26 happened we shut the economy down and 2:30 government began printing money like 2:31 well the government began issuing debt 2:34 like crazy so someone had to buy that 2:38 debt well the FED quickly realized oh my 2:41 gosh they're going to flood trillions of 2:43 dollars of debt out onto the market and 2:46 those biders out there are going to go 2:48 if you want us to take risk on this we 2:50 want more interest and the FED didn't 2:53 want that but the FED couldn't buy the 2:56 debt so what did they do they went to 2:58 what we call the primary dealers mostly 3:01 the big Banks Goldman Sachs JP Morgan 3:03 City those guys they said look fellas we 3:07 want you to show up at the auction buy 3:10 everything just buy it as soon as you 3:13 buy it we'll buy it back from you 3:16 because the FED isn't allowed to buy new 3:19 issue debt but they can buy old debt old 3:23 10 minutes so this is exactly what the 3:26 banks did the banks went to every 3:28 auction they bought it that kept 3:30 interest rates down great and then the 3:33 FED took all this debt onto their 3:35 balance sheet where the FED ended up 3:37 owning get this $ 3:40 trillion of the US government's debt 3:44 well everyone did wink wink nod nod yeah 3:46 we see what's going on here when I 3:48 explain this to clients they go Greg 3:50 that's money 3:51 laundering well the NSA is probably 3:54 listening to this no it is not money 3:57 laundering 3:59 anyway so the FED realizing they had a 4:03 PR problem said but look look we 4:04 understood we do this it was this covid 4:07 time we are going to do quantitative 4:10 tightening translation we're going to 4:13 sell these bonds back out into the 4:16 market once things normalize all right 4:19 so Co is way in the rearview mirror now 4:21 and the government promised once we get 4:24 co under control we'll bring we will 4:27 bring spending back down to preco covid 4:30 levels did they do that no CO's three 4:35 years ago we're spending more now than 4:37 we did during the crisis and issuing 4:39 more debt than ever meanwhile the 4:41 Federal Reserve was trying to be good to 4:43 its word all right we're going to sell 4:45 our bonds back into the market where it 4:48 belongs get it off our balance sheet 4:50 well this was just adding more Supply 4:52 more Supply and at the auction people 4:55 are saying I want a higher interest rate 4:57 because you guys are choking us on this 5:00 debt so what did the FED do 10 days ago 5:04 no they didn't lower rates no they 5:06 didn't raise rates but they went to the 5:09 treasury and said hey look we've been 5:11 peeling off about 60 billion a month 5:14 we're going to help you out we're not 5:16 going to do 60 billion we'll drop it 5:18 down to 25 5:20 billion well do that 5:31 the Federal Reserve CH this it could 5:33 have chosen recession or inflation now 5:37 they might end up with 5:39 stag but they chosen 5:55 [Music]

Thank you I appreciate you and Greg and enjoy your videos- Because you mentioned Best Buy I want to share an experience I had with them two weeks ago- They transferred me to an agent that worked in Panama. He logged into my computer and without my knowledge went into my password Pfeil took all my passwords to multiple business email accounts and hacked everyone of my email accounts.- Because I had recently sent banking information via email I went to my bank closed on my bank account and opened new ones so that it was not possible they had my account numbers- I thought I could trust Best Buy and am a total tech member, but when I try to file a complaint with them, they said “we have agents in multiple countries around the world and can’t control what they do” so much for Best Buy.

Why don't we get this point of view of history and geopolitics in school? If the average citizen had this kind of critical understanding of the forces that influence our national and individual fates, I think our political scene would look a lot more beneficial for average Americans. People would be more patriotic and libertarian in general.

Greg: Let me add another reason (#4) for reversing the flows from 401Ks -- RMDs! As about one-third of the baby boomers are now over the age of 72, they are now required to withdraw funds from their retirement accounts. Each year from now on, more and more boomers will be withdrawing more and more funds from the stock market, if they haven't already.

interesting perspective. i disagree with your overall assessment, though. the fed has been remarkably guarded, hesitant to lower interest rates as they watch inflation numbers. that wasn't happening in 2007-08. the wild wild west was happening in mortgages and investment banks. those greedy hogs brought everything down and the fed should have seen it coming. i'm a conservative, lifelong republican. considering all the biden administration was up against beginning in jan 2021, unlike anything this nation has EVER endured, i feel good about where we are. sure, it's good to add more to your portfolio, maybe or maybe not gold, but the economy's overall foundation is more solid than it's been in years. now, if investors would not be so greedy and profits could be shared at a rate more in line with the 1960s and 70s, workers wouldn't need two jobs. joe biden can't fix that - corporations and their ceo's can. and should!
