Ouch!! Crazy you managed to get that on dashcam. Glad to hear that no-one was hurt!! 😬
Dang, that was crazy and miracle for the people involved! And if I recall correctly, the speed limit changes from 110 km/h to 100 km/h right before the ramp to NB 35/115, right?
Yes, I believe so.
How people fail to see a big ass truck beside them or think they can win against them I'll never understand... Great video
Definitely a video that I wasn't expecting. Still, too bad for the peoples involved in that crash, but the most important is that nobody got injured!
Honestly in the moment I thought it was way worse than it actually was until I made it home and reviewed the footage. The blue car that started it was heavily damaged, if not completely totaled. Still, no one was hurt. For the other four vehicles it was just a fender bender from what I could tell.
Notice,,no motorbikes 😂,,our trip Canada's wonderland then back too Timmins 😂 everyone was doing 120km😂,,and that was the slow line,
1:00:52 I used to live just south of here from the time I was 1½ until I was 6½ until I moved to St Thomas
8:16 I'm 46 years old, been in Ontario my whole life, and have travelled on the 401 alot. This is the 1st time I've seen a moving train on that bridge.
@@JruGordon I can’t remember if I have. I feel like I have seen trains there before.
So that's what you sound like
@@MatthiaGryffine Is that a compliment?
@@FreewayAndrewCAN Simple curiosity
@@MatthiaGryffinefair enough.
I guess Mr. Cool blue hatchback won't be doing that again!
Yeah, probably not. Wasn’t the finest move. Although, one of the Clarington Firemen who showed up on scene told me that it was only a matter of time before something occurred at that work zone.
The new bridge is so much more roomy
Love these videos. I look at the Decarie Expressway as it is today and what Decarie was like before the expressway was built in the 1960s. It's quite a contrast.
I always feel disappointed when I reach Ville de Québec from Saguenay and enter the hustle and bustle of crossing Autoroutes.😊 A good video.😅
@@victorseal9047 I know! The traffic really hits you quick when you come down from the mountains. It goes from low traffic to higher traffic pretty fast!
Sometimes I find myself wondering what kind of job you work at when you aren't driving all over the place
Lol. I’m usually not that busy in the summer months, I’m really busy in the fall/winter though. Most of my work is in the winter.
I love music it Good video thank you ❤❤❤
My girl & I did most of this drive from Hamilton yesterday at dusk. Appreciate all these videos you make man, especially the ones in Ontario. They bring back some good memories...& a few bad ones too lol.
It's very interesting that the exit numbers count backwards, but it makes sense with a set-in-stone eastern terminus and a constantly changing western terminus. The next extension will bring the numbers into the 200s for the first time on the 417 (my guess is Bruce Street will be Exit 210).
It’s unique for sure, but it makes perfect sense for the reasons you mentioned. Yes, and it will be the third 400-series freeway to extend over 200 km!
I be happy when they are finished working on harbour bridge
I'm surprised the signs at 11:32 still mention Hwy 69 before Parry Sound as the 400 itself now reaches it. They could basically ignore 69 altogether there and only sign it when the 400 reaches Parry Sound and transitions.
@@ALuimes it is kinda weird. I’ve always wondered the same thing. I think it’s there because Sudbury is listed as a control city on that sign. I wonder if they’ll remove that someday when 69 is decommissioned.
I assume it's to help motorists avoid mistakenly continuing north on Highway 11. People unfamiliar with the area who are driving to Sudbury may get confused when Highway 400 transitions into 69 north of Parry Sound.
I did this exact drive last week at 3pm on a Wednesday. It took me 2 and a half hours lmao
@@zichenafrog yeah that sounds about right lol. I filmed this on a Saturday morning.
Highway 69 used to run through downtown Sudbury, and further north to Capreol. Locals still refer to it as Old Highway 69.
I quess doing about 300 km
The concept of using the left lane for passing is completely lost on Canadians. And yes, it is law, even in Québec. It's just not enforced. The dangers and frustration of this phenomena are on full display at 8:21. She blocks the left lane then when someone wants to get in she blocks him then continues driving the same speed. Multiple studies have shown that left lane blocking is the #1 most dangerous road behaviour because it pisses everyone off and makes them do stupid shit.
@@agtronic I have to agree with you there. It’s very inconsiderate and also dangerous like you said. I saw a video message from the OPP recently reminding people that’s it’s dangerous and illegal and that they’re enforcing it, but it almost feels like they never do.
It's 110 km/h to the 401 now but surprisingly...(just joking) the 401 from 416 to Kingston is still 100.
Not my favourite highway. Insane going North on Friday, even more insane going South on Sunday.
@@hlafrond965 I agree. It’s still nice though when it’s not like that, like in this video. This was filmed early on a Saturday morning.
it's great to see these Highway improvements, including the Highway 17 and 417
I came here on the same day. You were one hour behind me when you came on 275
M10 where I learned to drive in 1981 old home area.
Those painted-on signs on the roadway at 8:39, never seen that in Quebec before, only on US interstates. Interesting.
I think the twinning from Ch. de Buckingham to Doherty will be completed soon.
@@MrDilldock I have a video of A-50 from June 28 that I uploaded last weekend. I suggest you check it out! Construction is pretty close to completion!
@@FreewayAndrewCAN Will do!
Can I ask what was remastered? Did you up the vibrance of the foliage? Change the music? :D
@@MrDilldock I significantly improved the quality of the footage. When I made the original version of this video, my old PC wasn’t able to handle the colour correction and in-depth editing that I can do with my Mac Studio computer that I have now. I spent some time this past winter/spring recreating old videos that I wanted to try editing with my new, powerful machine. Especially the Fall 2021 videos. I also changed the last song to something I thought worked better.
@@FreewayAndrewCAN Nice! The quality is very good, keep up the good work!
Who knows? Come sometime next year, you can do a road trip over the Gordie Howe Bridge to Detroit!
A good future roadtrip would be to drive it all the way to Florida...
@@craigceecee8762 I’d like to do that, but I don’t know if I ever will. Not saying I won’t ever film anything in Florida, but I don’t think I’ll drive all the way there.
I guess some unfinished business around Lake Erie is in order
I use to drive the to Tremblant from Hudson back in the 70s and 80s, the days when you had tolls on the highway. .25 cents on weekends and .10 cents during the week. I use to take the A640 over to the A15. I also use to cross the Ottawa River on the OKA / HUDSON ice bridge, to get to the A640 (when it was open) I also use to drive the whole way in the left lane going as fast as hell! 90mph 145Kmh (LOL) That video brought back a lot of memories, thank you!
At 1:01, the post sign is km 48. At 1:05, the sign for exit 46 should include R-125 sud. At 5:35, we are on Île Jésus.
I've never seen before the section of the Autoroute 50 between Saint-Jérome and Buckingham towards Ottawa was built initially at two lanes and planned to expand to four lanes. I think it is unsual to see these Autoroute with two-lanes / one carriageway in Quebec.
@@FreewayAllan it’s one of the only ones. A-20 east of Rivière-du-Loup is also the same, as well as the separate Rimouski section.
A 55 south of Trois-Rivières was 2 lane for a long time too.
@@MrDilldock actually that reminds me it still is! How could I forget…
You should make a video of driving to the Toronto Zoo using highway 7 and back roads only the way people took back in 1925 so we generation zs can take perspective.
Can you play Bring me to life by Evanescence on your next Toronto freeway video Cheers from Guelph Ontario
At 6.26 you’re 5 kilometres from my home. 😅😊
loved watching this. cheers
I used to work at Harbour Bridge Toll Plaza, it was at2:12 of the video, worked there for 14 years as a Commissionaire.I left a year before the tolls were taken off the bridge, now it's costing an arm and a leg for repairs.
@@Chuck59ish I had no idea there used to be a toll booth there!
Good video. Shame first 3+ minutes is of New Brunswick
At the beginning when you take the exit from the 104 to the 102, what is that orange pavement? It goes on for a while through Truro. I’ve never seen that anywhere else. Generally the 100 series highways in NS are not very good. Lots of potholes and worn/broken asphalt, rutted lanes, gravel shoulders just a few feet off the highway, tight interchanges, poor signage. They seem poorly designed and unmaintained.
@@ab348 I was wondering the same thing. I’m not sure. It’s probably just an older type of asphalt. I agree with you. Many of the roads I drove on there were in pretty serious disrepair. Beautiful scenery though.
Moncton to Saint John has beautiful scenery along the way
A-50 is certainly one of my favorite Quebec highway after Route 175 between Quebec city & Saguenay! This reminds me a lot of Asphalt Planet's version, 2 years earlier. The soundtrack was also amazing too, especially ''Every Breath You Take'', ''We Don't Need Another Hero'' & ''Take On Me''. Las but not least, I can't wait to see A-50 being a 4-lane divided highway. Do you plan to film parts of the higway when some construction will be completed?
@@alexishoude4449 thank you! It is also one of my favourite drives, certainly up there with 175. I don’t know when I’ll drive A-50 again. I hadn’t driven it since Fall of 2021 when I filmed that video. Maybe I’ll drive it again next year depending on if construction is completed on those sections, but we’ll have to see!
As a lifelong Monctonian I feel it is my duty to inform you on how Magnetic Hill works. You are actually being towed uphill by magnets at the top of the hill. There is no optical delusion about whether you are truly going up or down a hill. You are in fact coasting uphill. Period! End of story! Game over! Have a nice trip and come back soon.
Thanks for the insight! You learn something new every day I suppose. This trip was last June, but I do hope I will be back soon, it was beautiful. The most fun I have had in my entire life!
I visited Montreal last week for the Gran Turismo 7 e-sports race. Had a great time :)
Honestly, King Edward Avenue in Ottawa should be uploaded to the province (a new KH-5) to have a continuous highway connection between A-5 and KH-417.
@@Pyeknu i’d like to see them build a freeway connection, but it would be a complicated task given how built up the area is. Never say never though…
