Zappworx Short Films Tile Tutorials
Bricklayer by trade tile installer for life. The secret is your imagination, patience and knowledge of basic traditional tools. Your levels are key to a beautiful job...they always tell you the truth. In time I will prove you can do it too. I am excited so lets get there together on your projects. Lets teach together!

Amazing work, thank you for sharing.
Many thanks!
Don’t you have a lot of waste doing it that way, does it really look that much better
It’s not about waste I actually always have enough tiles then some. Save your off cuts, never toss them till the end of the job I work with builders, client’s and high end designers.
Good to know there is never a squared room. And I like that you talk over your video, not while you’re working.
Thank you for the kind words. I am happy to teach you some simple techniques.
I just watched another video by a different guy, and he started in the back. His cut tile was right at the door. Totally agree with you. Full tile at the door. 👍🏻
I can tell you’re good at what you do. Laying small tile like that shows even the smallest mistakes.
Love the pattern. Great idea!
Love the bench!
What kind of drain is this? Like it.
Hello it’s called a Schluter linear drain
Love this modern look. I just gutted my master bathroom.
Very nice! Thanks for taking the time to share.
My pleasure!
Also no air bubbles
Hello the purpose is to have a better bond and you can see your caulk line’s more accurately. High end installers do it this way for better movement with cold and hot weather. In other words expand and contraction. Remember to always back butter your tiles. Thanks.
What's the purpose of the 'flashing' you mentioned? Doesn't the morter just go over the orange substrate, then the tile? Just curious, thanks!
What is that gadget on his collar?
Roll baby roll love me as I am
SKAGIT COUNTY, WA HAS TULIP FIELDS LIKE THIS IN SPRING. DAFFODILS FIELDS TOO. BEEN TOLD THE BULBS SOLD IN HOLLAND AS HOLLAND BULBS. No way to confirm.

Need an explanation for video. I can see the subfloor wasn't lowered in any way for shower floor. But I can't tell exactly how the shower floor was made flush with the shower floor nor how the shower floor was sloped.
Hello for some reason I am not getting notifications so sorry for the delay. There was a drop in the subfloor I just sloped it with 4-1 cement. I promise I will do a separate video on that.
Is it acceptable to use caulking with porcelain tile with vinyl exterior walls. It’s a four season sunroom. Thanks for your time.
Hello! My apologies for not responding to quickly. I use a silicone called “Nuflex 302” it has vinegar added to it to prevent mildew. It comes in different colours. I use it showers and doorways. Thank you hope this helps.

Hi, 🐦🐦🐦May I share the most important news you will ever hear? God the Father sent His holy Son Jesus Christ(Y'shua Ha' Mashiach) from heaven to earth, to be born of a virgin. He grew up and died on the cross for our sins. He was put into a tomb for 3 days, and then Abba Father raised Jesus to life and He appeared to people and went back to Heaven. We must all sincerely receive Jesus to be a true child of God. It says in John 1:12 "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name." Will you genuinely believe on Christ Jesus and truly receive Him today, before it is too late?
that's a nice pooch

Nice work, Subbed 👍🏼
Thanks for the sub!
Looks like a sauna ❤
Thanks Randolph I posted that herringbone for you and deducted it to you in my.description.
lol dedicated to you sorry brother not deducted autocorrect
Definitely NOT a Kerdi fan ~ way too many failures and a flawed adhesion system in using thinset (which is NOT water proof) to bond the Kerdi to the wall. It's better to use tube adhesive/sealant like osi quad max as it IS water proof, has superior bonding strength, and will not fail over time.
That’s odd I have never had a leak in the past 18 years. I have heard from other installers that I know. Told them to double kerdi their shower base and change cement. Maybe you should switch your cement. I use Ultra flex 2 and never an issue and so has the other installers. They were using an unmodified cement I told them to switch.
Good boy Clark
“I’m in a relationship.” LOL!
They dont look bad, it matches the kitchen
Hello and yes everyone is different but I was recommended by my builder. My builders are high end custom homes. I use Schluter niche and kerdi for my jobs for I gauge my tiles to meet the niche properly. I told the home owner to leave it. I am a bricklayer by trade and a tile installer for the past 35 years. I get my Schluter at a good price. However I do traditional ways still I don’t believe in foam bases or kerdi boards unless they ask. I like my walls sturdy. I have never had a problem in the past 20 years. I am happy that we are talking about different materials. Thank you for the kind words. My work are in magazines and hope you come back so I can post them for everyone to see in June. Let’s keep in touch please. Love to hear some of your ideas.
First I'd like to say good job, you're obviously a professional who takes pride in his work. Second, that is sooooo much work and those materials so expensive. I switched to GoBoard a few years ago, what a joy to use. No membrane on walls anymore, no tape needed, just approved sealer/caulk at change of planes and to waterproof your custom built niche. Also interesting that you use thinset under your mud pan. I was taught, oh 35 years ago, to lay some tar paper or plastic sheeting on the floor under the mud to decouple the pan from the floor so it can move a little. I've built countless pans this way over the decades, never a problem. Not saying my way is better, just interesting how installers have their own ways of doing things. Keep up the good work.
Yo your videos are awesome to watch. Love the work! God bless
Hi Randolph glad you like them. I have one that you will love it’s a mud room with a dog shower. I will post it for you next week and dedicate it to you. I will mention your name if that’s ok with you?🎉
