  Found the user’s manual. There it says: “Central control indication icon It will be displayed when the air conditioner is centrally controlled and used by a central remote controller and other central control devices. If the central control prohibits using the remote controller, <lock-over-window-symbol> will flash when pressing the ON/OFF, mode or temperature button on the remote controller, indicating that these buttons do not work. (The settings that can be configured on the remote controller will vary depending on the central control mode.” So that means that the hotel you are staying at can decide if e.g. at certain hours the AC is turned of, and during operating hours you might only be allowed to change the temperature…
