Everyone I know moved out of Richmond because of crime, enjoy!
Dude, the green bean and cheese is one of my favorites!! No hatin’ on green bean proper pie! 😂🎉❤
@@thegoldsinno haha it’s still great! But yes, how dare we!!😂
Y'all are deff having more fun in RVA than me. I just passed Vagabond earlier today, I live a few blocks away from it but I've never seen the place open. I guess it's just for special events? I also wanna check out the Branch museum, i was supposed to go once.
So many cool things to do in Richmond. Living in Fredericksburg is very limited
@@antoniosamuels6157 at least you’re not too far away for a quick trip! I’m definitely wanting to visit Fredericksburg one day though
@@LaurenZRay we have some cool things to check out. Id be glad to give you a list of places
@@antoniosamuels6157 I’d love that! Thank you so much!
@@LaurenZRay very welcome. I'll have something put together asap
Paix is a great place. My wife and I have stopped in a couple times.
@@traitken love the vibe in there! I really want to try their new summer drink!
Next time you are up in church hill - you have to check Outside the box gift shop. 314 North 25th Street Richmond, Virginia
@@lesleymcclure7140 I’ve driven by that before! Will def stop in now. Thanks for the tip! 💚
I was born in Winchester and grew up in this area for the first couple years of my life. I've lived in upstate ny for most my adult life now so I love that va still has hills and mountian areas. I never liked too flat
@@walkingnote1090 it’s so cool how diverse Virginia is! Beach or mountains only a short drive from Richmond. Would love to visit Winchester as well!
I believe the VMFA’s Lillian Pratt Collection of Faberge’ is the largest single collection in the US. (Malcolm Forbes, of Forbes magazine and other fame, used to have the biggest collection until his passing then all was sold off.) Back to L. Pratt’s collection, interesting story of how her collection assembled. Back in the day (82-83?), Forbe’s collection was touring and both collections combined for VMFA’s special exhibit. 😍
@@MaryCawthorne-ov5qw whoa that would have been amazing!! Hopefully they do it again 😍
You are fabulous as usual great work. Keep going
@@VJ_The-Rockstar. thank you so much!! 💚💚
The Byrd is favorite theater in the Va area. I saw my all-time favorite horror film The Evil Dead there a few years ago in October.
@@YourGEEKYNeighbor that’d be awesome! It’s so cool in there 😍
We had the best time. I want to go back and go camping soon...🏕🙂
@@musicbyLUKAS that would be epic!!
Anyone have a trip planned to the Virginia Mountains? 🏔👇
Def need to go back soon...
I would not live in Richmond the crime is too high and they took all the monuments down and put up statues of black slaves all over slaves all over what they're doing is pushing black history down your throat I am not interested in no black history.
Stumbled across your channel last week and I’m really enjoying your content! It’s been about 20 years or so since I lived in Richmond (went to school out there) thinking about moving back thanx to your vids 😅
@@cookinwitp0ppin331 thank you so much!! It’s an amazing city for sure 😝😍
I havent been to iron clad in a couple years but when i did they sucked.
@@christianmorera4127 I wonder if you’d like it now! What did you get last time?
@LaurenZRay it was a pumpkin spice cinnamon latte I believe. The cashier was nice so I left a tip, but when I took a sip I was like, "this doesn't taste like pumpkin nor cinnamon" and the batista was like, "it's there." And walked away. I threw away the cup and never went back. I think my wife left a 1 star review and the owner was like, "comeback, we'll give you a free drink and a couple syrup pumps on the house". But I try to not support businesses that give bad service or products. Again it's been years so it's probably different now. Okay end rant lol. Great video btw.
Hey! I know Ana in that vid and was working that event, too You should come check out the grand opening of Passion Project this Saturday. I'll be doing Tarot at noon and there will be a lot of cool artists and things!
@@IrishWakeTarot love this!! Thanks for thinking of me! I remember you at that event!
@LaurenZRay hah very cool! Hope to see you Saturday or around Richmond
@@IrishWakeTarot for sure!!
Another liberal in Virginia
Me from Richmond but from the hood 👁️👄👁️
There are some cool venues too if you like live music.
@@andrewparsons3277 would love to!
When she said goth I thought she was about to say she was going to Fallout
I have lived about 30 minutes from Richmond my entire life and never knew there was a fashion week
@@andrewparsons3277 right!!
I was born and raised in Fairfax County and lived in Tennessee and Texas for a few years, my knowledge of Richmond is based off US history. Would Richmond be a bad place to live for an Indian American?
@@eashanahluwalia9599 The history of Richmond is lengthy and sometimes very dark BUT those days are behind us, and it’s becoming a very welcoming city of all types of people. There are always still ways to go with everything but you’ll find the people (especially young people) within the city accepting and very unique. One of the reasons I wanted to live there is because I’m a weird person and I felt I fit in in Richmond. The people who tend to gravitate towards Richmond are artists, creatives, progressives and people who want change. This of course is just my opinion and I’m a white woman with limited perspective on certain things, but I think you’d like it!
Definitely eating at Proper Pie Thank you!!
@@nestabus yes!! 😍😍
Rented in richmond for about 9 years and loved it so much just bought our first house in manchester area. 2 more markets you may or may not know about, makers market(Basic City brewing) and the moon market (Stone brewing) both focus on local crafts people. Lived in church hill for a while and just down road from proper pie is the hill cafe menu which is my favorite not super expensive restaurant in the area. Love the videos!
@@theMonstar89 thank you for these tips!! And your kind words. ☺️ Love a good market!!
I’ve lived just outside of Richmond for nearly 5 years, and I’ve not heard of any of these places. Definitely want to give them a visit when my husband and I get a rare date night.
@@amandalynnlucarini9517 yes! Blue Atlas is great for a date night too 😍
Could you recommend me some neighborhoods to look into as a potential mover next summer/fall? I am a 23 year old currently living in nyc and finishing up grad school. I’ve had a few friends move down to VA over the last two years and they love it! Some are living in Lynchburg and others at VA Beach. However I’ve been really interested in Richmond and am seriously contemplating it to be a potential option to me. I definitely need to visit the city more before making that decision but when I go to visit, I definitely want to check out realistic housing options for me as well as scoping out the neighborhoods. What neighborhoods should I look into as a young professional female who will not know anyone 😅(I know I probably sound so naive but this is a genuine question as I do not know much about Richmond yet!) I would appreciate any feedback! Thank you!!!!
@@keelyn5260 so exciting!! I recommend the Fan and areas around VCU campus, Jackson Ward, Shockoe, Scott’s Addition or Museum District to live. Also be sure to join Vegan Club RVA (open to everyone including non-vegans) but it’s a social club I started for people to meet others & become friends. www.laurenzray.com/vegan-club-rva ☺️
@@LaurenZRay thank you so much! I will definitely look into it! It sounds great!
just started watching your vlogs, and I love it already. And, I’m a bit excited cause i’m (we’re) moving there to Richmond maybe next year. So, thankyou for these vlogs 🥹🤍 it lets me look into the city more and how it probably feels living there. ☺️
@@siiahsdiary yay!! So glad you found me too! Thank you for your kind words! 💚💚
You should try kayaking the James. Take a 1/2 or full day class. Which upgrades you to doing more advanced stuff. Go with a group! The Rivah can be dangerous. Lot of groups that do it a lot if you get into it. Fun fact about Richmond. It's the only city in the US with class IV rapids running through it.
@@mcblaze1968 can’t wait! Def excited to try that this summer 😍
I've lived in Richmond over 25 years. We're NoVA refugees. This city, for it's size, really hits above it's weight in a lot of categories. The food and art scene in particular because of VCU. It's a great easy going southern city with a lot to do. The James river park system is my favorite thing.
@@mcblaze1968 it truly is! That river is just 🥹 amazing!
Moved to the Richmond area from NYC at the end of 2023, and one of my biggest challenges so far is building/find community of fellow creatives, actors, musicians, podcasters, and content creators. If anybody in chat can help me out (or if you want to be friends) please hit me up!
@@RichHackman hey Rich! Come to one of my vegan club meet ups - you don’t have to be vegan to come but there are so many cool people who show up! And everyone there is ready to make friends. Our next one is August 8. Here is the info: www.laurenzray.com/event-details/vegan-club-rva-x-kavaclub-free

Paix is legit. Solid vibes and solid dudes. If you haven’t been to Shoredog, that’s a great coffee shop to work from. Conejo has incredible upscale street tacos. And Bar West has really good vibes. Also, if you haven’t been to Stellas, you’re missing out-insane Greek food! There are just so many pockets of personality in RVA. I’ve only been here for a few years and I’m always finding new spots!
@@jonbannan7647 thanks for these tips!! Will def check them all out 😍 Shoredog looks cute!
