My Norwegian dialect, I am from Haugesund in Norway, still have many similarities with Icelandic.
Are places, museums and other tourist spots closed on May 1st Labor Day?
Ill be there for the first time next week!!!
Very informative and interesting, thank you!
True about the water, but in Reykjavik you need to make sure that you turn on only the cold water tap otherwise you might fill your water bottle with water that smells like sulfur
Hörgshlíðarlaug now has a small changing room. There is info for wire transfer & donation box inside.
I'm visiting iceland for the first time the last week of July 2024.
I think it smelled worse than it tasted. The flavor wasn't too bad, really. It was the shot of alcohol that was 🤢. BTW, i booked the walk through your company because of your personality through your YT videos. Well done!
I've been three times and everything he advised is completely true. The resale shops, also, in my opinion, have some good finds like Icelandic wool sweaters and other unique items. Managing food costs is the hardest part about visiting Iceland. Rent a car and buy a cooler and shop at Bonus if you have kids you will be glad you did. Iceland restaurants are few and far and very expensive. Pre-planned itinerary will help with making a great trip to Iceland. Wonderful people and great scenery. Enjoy.
Trúa á álfa? Þeir eru til.
I lived at 15 skipholt, seconds away from a Bonus. I've never seen the 10-11 while I was there. The Bonus was still pretty damn expensive.
Your mnemonic phrases are so funny! 🤣
Tak in Polish = yes 😂 svo auðvelt að muna það
I want to live in Iceland, seriously!
Freyja very good ég elska það
Ég á heima á íslandi
Stunning country but can be chilly in summer, largely due to the wind. In fact, another name for the country could be Windland. Def pack a warm jacket, gloves & a hat if you plan on doing outdoor touring away from Reykjavik. If you're picking up a hire car on arrival @ Keflavik, maybe pay a visit to Viking World Museum. Opens at 7am. Interesting collection & has a cool cafe.
Hello, the cost of buying a two-bedroom house
I heard that cheers in Islandic and Scandinavian (Skål, Skál, Skaal, Skoal, Skol etc) derives from the word "skull" and bowl (Old Norse word skalli, meaning bald head) because the Vikings took drink from a communal beer bowl.
I thought the Sun Voyager sculpture made for a great photo in the evening when it was lit up. I also enjoyed visiting the plane wreck and got some interesting photos there. (Trivia: Justin Bieber did a music video on Iceland and included the plane in it). The blue lagoon is the most overrated attraction but everyone is still going to do it. (The water comes from the power station next door so it's not exactly an experience in a natural setting)
Did all three last week!
the hotdogs in ikea are the same, and 10 times more cheap. and the hotdogs in all are nothing spec in iceland.but yeah wht you can make wrong on a hotdog? bread, onion, souce and sausage.even if the contacts in the brain not well work you should get to make it
Would it be weird to just call someone "meistari" when saying thanks for a coffee? Sure they won't look at me funny? 😂
Can't wait to do the walking food & beer tour (again!) this November! :)
I've done the food tour twice so far (funny enough, both times I was with Bryndís and she was great!). Love doing this tour and will be doing again this November on my 3rd trip over! :)
Hey guys, love your channel and will finally visit Iceland in December this year. I understand that on December 24th and 25th everything is closed. We will be arriving on the 25th and I am unsure how and where to get food whether we decide on a hotel or Airbnb. Help much appreciated
Jesus…. I remember contestants on Fear Factor back in the day having to eat nasty shit to advance…. They don’t have ANYTHING on you guys 😂🤢🤮🤮🤮
Thank you for the tips! I will be there next month and I'd already located a 10-11 near my apartment....now I'm looking for the nearest Bonus! Your mom was right - Don't do drugs and don't exchange at the airport! These were great and I will keep them in mind.
I live in iceland❤❤❤
How many hours of the tour is spent driving?
Did Iceland start as a slave rapist colony?
As an icelandic person this is very useful
Akureyrar
❤More would be good.
I went to Iceland last May and booked several excursions through Wake Up Reykjavik. Really enjoyed our private group Golden Circle tour, the food tour, and a whale watching tour. We will be coming back this November and want to do a northern lights excursion. Must say, I disagree that Sun Voyager is a tourist trap. I thought it was really beautiful and moving. I had studied that sculpture in college and was delighted to see it and thought it was beautifully situated. I do see comments about the Blue Lagoon, and while I fully agree that it is a tourist trap, I still feel like the experience was worth it. We flew into Reykjavik at 6:00 a.m. on a Tuesday. I do not sleep well on flights at all, so after a very long travel day being able to immediately stop at the Blue Lagoon and soak for 2 hours was wonderful. At that time the lagoon was not crowded, it was a lovely introduction to Iceland, and it killed some time before we drove to Reykjavik to check into our hotel.
Já einmitt
Yay!! Ísland!!!
So many spectacular sights on the south coast. On the day we might have seen the plane wreck, we instead saw Gullfoss, Seljalandsfoss, went snowmobiling on Mýrdalsjökull, and visited Dyrhólaey. And Skógafoss, Gljúfrabúi, and Reynisfjara would have also been on the list, but we just didn't have time.
Any suggestions for going during fall?
Thank you so much, I will be visiting August 2024.This is very informative.
My husband and I are planning to go for 4days only. Can someone recommend places we MUST visit?
I live in Iceland
I'll be there in early September. I can't wait to see your beautiful country!
Hi. Do all your hot dogs contain pork ?
Can we go to Iceland even with the volcanic activities going on ?
No volcano active now! But even with the recent eruptions, Iceland has been safe to travel to! 🌋
Egg is egg! Fish is fishkur! 😂 most words are pretty similar to english!

we planning to be there for 3 days beginning of August for my bd, any hotel recommendations?
I'm planning my trip for next April and must warn you , you will probably be seeing a lot of me as I will be booking a few of your tours! Your vidieos are so helpful!
Bottled water is a rip off in my country too (Scotland has some of the best quality tap water anywhere). I only buy water if I’m out and about in desperate need to take pills and have already finished the tap water I took out and don’t have access to a tap. Fortunately, there has been a huge move towards installing water refill taps in cities like Glasgow and there’s an app that lists places near you that will fill your bottles for free (usually coffee shops).
