Sherri, great video and boy you have done a great job, too on organizing your home. I have been doing the same thing and I just took another car load of things to the Goodwill I do not need anymore. I am staying away from the Thrift Stores and Home Decor Stores, because I do not need anything. When it is time to get Fall and Christmas out I plan to get rid of alot, too. I am 70 now and I do not want my Sons to be left with a lot stuff that they need to deal with in my home after my Husband and myself leave this great life. Thanks for sharing and have a great week.

🏡 Sherri, have you considered painting your backsplash? Since you want to replace it down the road, you wouldn't be hurting anything. Even if you just lightened the brown border part, & left the beige as is, would look beautiful! Many examples on utube also😉 ~Just a thought. ~Also, looks like you have Parquet wood floors already... would look beautiful "painted" also😅
@The_Curated_Life10 күн бұрын
Hey, Carol. I thought about painting the backsplash but I don’t like the design of the tiles so even with painting them, they’ll still have the same texture coming through the paint. I already purchased tile for the kitchen and it’s sitting in my sunroom until I get the money to have them installed. I thought about painting the parquet but they’re in such bad shape and I feel painting them would be like putting lipstick on a pig! 😂

We were selling our house and had a large kitchen in need of a redo. The original finish was 30 years old and way past due for a makeover. It had 42” tall uppers with 28 cabinets and drawers. I sanded and hand painted 2 coats on everything both sides of all doors and added poly. I used a Sherwin Williams alkyd which covered, went on and leveled like a dream. No brush strokes showed at all. No primer. I did this in early spring when it was still pretty cold. So I had alot of doors set up on sawhorses in the kitchen and dining room. It took me two entire weeks. Turned out so beautiful. We put in new counters and the kitchen turned out beautiful. Shortly after I had to turn around and do the same thing in a home we were renovating for our retirement. The kitchen is even larger. We paid $500 at Restore for these semi custom cabinets. We had so many we used some in my shop and my husbands. This time no uppers as I decided on a series of collected mismatched vintage open shelves painted in Sherwin Williams Biscuit white. Same process only these were a medium brown wood. Again no primer. The kitchen looks amazing. Painting is such an awesome way to elevate the look of a kitchen. I love the colors you went with.
