  I think this is appalling and only necessary for operations or when there’s serious matting . I can’t imagine how my long haired 12 year old would react? She grooms constantly. The neighbourhood cats would rip her to shreds too. Think it’s a terrible thing to inflict on a cat.

  Here in New Jersey we now have eastern coyotes which are a mix of coyote and dog. They are the size of a German shepherd but avoid humans.

  I knew it wasn’t just certain dog breeds that are viscous, territorial. This day and age it’s more common for cats to be similar to dogs in how they try to guard their owners, sense your emotions, even can be quite big.

  Balto lead the final Husky team for 64 miles of the Serum Run. Togo at 12 years old, lead his Husky team 261 miles over the most difficult terrain of the entire Serum Run. All the Huskies and their mushers were heroes. But Leonhard Seppala and Togo were the Top Heroes of the Serum Run. Both Togo and Balto were from Seppala's Kennel. But Seppala said Togo was the greatest lead sled dog of the Arctic.

  I'm not interested in sled dogs. I live in Florida. But I know for sure that my husky is a talking dog. This dog is capable of meaningful and varied sound signals. In general, it’s nice to talk to a dog. We understand each other perfectly

  This is unbelievably silly. Cats cannot be trained (except to use the litter tray) and should never be 'disciplined' Just love them and let them enjoy their cat nature. Dogs enjoy being trained. Cats don't.

On a side note, I had a Russian Blue cat that I adopted at 10 weeks and she passed away a bit before her 21st birthday. My current cat is 12 next month, he's half Russian Blue half Siberian and a very large boy.

  Breed names don't matter. All blocky-headed dogs were bred to be efficient killers.   Those are all pretty solid indicators i'd say...living with a cat is the only way to truly gauge it's intelligence tho. A three month old rescue kit i raised for a month figured out door knobs among other things.
