Hi, I’m Robert. If you want to make silicone rubber molds and resin castings this is the channel for you!
I have been a sculptor and mold maker for 40 years. My channel focuses on the skills you need to successfully mold and cast your stuff. Viewers of the channel submit their projects and I demonstrate the best way to make a mold and successfully cast whatever it is, from cartoon figurines to car parts. Anything goes as long as we can mold it in silicone rubber and cast it in resin.
If all this sounds good to you hit that subscribe button and join the fun! I look forward to hearing from you and seeing the projects you’re working on!

Your craft is outstanding. Love the vids
Im learning so much! Thank you. I wondered why you didn't coat the cardboard with the white glue?? Isn't that why we tested it?
I'd say your vibrating table is not moving at an appropriate frequency and far too much amplitude, and may in fact be causing bubbles. I'd try agitating that mold with the voice coil out of a woofer or a mid-range speaker, and I'd start around 120 hz.
"And try to not catch Bubbles, HOW DARE YOU! Apart from that 11/10 for the vid, thanks alot.
I like your casting videos as much as anyone, but I'm really glad to see you making videos of other things. Screaming Yellow Frogman is my favorite, followed by Tapirdog.
Wow. Looks amasing, interesting and fun!!
thank you so much for sharing! your knowledge is invaluable to makers of the world. thanks again for the inspiration
Amazing
What kind of camera you using?
Bob, you clearly have a very personal talent. May I suggest that you explore working with larger formats? Try supports that are at least 3x3 feet, maybe canvas or cradled wood. When you experiment with larger scales, your art takes on an unexpected and profound dimension. This practice can further enhance your perspective and refine your skills, pushing your creative boundaries even more. Personally, I've found that my confidence in my art has significantly improved.
What kind of resin did You use? Excelen job
You never cease to amaze us
Boring … make tutorial how to resin miniature figure.
If you're bored, then you're boring..
Oh god that sound 😩🤢
Nails on a chalkboard bad.
I wish you'd get back to casting and mold making...sigh
Same here. I have no interest in abstract art whatsoever.
@@Jimmy-sb3fc It's his channel., He can do what he likes. If you don't like it, then IT'S NOT FOR YOU. Start your own channel, and post whatever you want, ya whiny bitch!
AGREE! its cool, but yea boring AF... resin stuff much better 🙂
ilove youre art!!!!
I love getting to see you make your art, instead of always teaching the rest of us how to cast our own.
Cool.
I still don't get it: why does brushing work and shaking doesn't? I mean it's both surface coating... I'd guess theoretically a gelcoat would be the perfect solution? But how do you turn a resin into gelcoat with household items...?🤔
excellent drawing! thank you very much for sharing. channels great, hope you keep growing because we both know you're going to keep making art!!
Bob, i love how you doodle-draw. they always comes out so cool. Your artwork is so jazzy, like Viktor Schreckengost. i love his stuff, too. Your friend is lucky to have you in their life!
I like it. It looks like a fun celebration.
i see wut u did there 😏
This was very helpful but im still not sure ill be able to make a mold for toy monster trucks. The middle piece is...ummm...i guess you could describe it as a cage almost. I guess I wont know until I try.🤞
Everything that is considered old works better anyway. All my grandmas antiques that she still used never broke. Digital anything shouldn't be trusted no matter what it is PLUS it always breaks so you have to buy more garbage.
the best reason to doing this, is for discontinued kits
Amazing 🎉 and you are HILARIOUS 😂
Where have you been all my LIFE 😂. Fantastic teacher.
Omg I needed to make silicone sprues all along for my doll parts!!! Thank you SO MUCH!!!! I love your humor and talent!! Fantastic channel. Will mention you in my video for my doll parts molding video.
Love it!
What kind of resin did you use in your production videos, sir? Very informative videos by the way, thank you very much.
You know what? Maybe you should be casting a ball, no airpockets, no edges, no problems. IMO, losing the base and reattaching it afterwards would’ve been a better solution than losing all the details and gluing the legs together.
Robert is my KZread dad
Just an idea, but Have you tried to blast some compressed air between the molds, maybe that makes it easier to seperate the parts
I'll bet this would work great 3D printing a mold with TPU
Do you take orders for molds? I have designs but no access or experience with this side of production. Would love to be able to make resin models with some of your custom molds!
Hi love this video and I'm a new subscriber to your channel. I wanted to ask if the same can be done with both non toxic resin and the plastic micro? As I want to make objects floating in water while people are swimming through pool and swimming underwater. ❤
Very interesting! I’m surprised how simply the silicone mold is cut in half. I always figured it would be much more complicated and would need to somehow catch the exact outer most edges. I guess that’s a big advantage of using a mold that is bendable and can stretch some.
Hi. I just found iut about ur channel. Very nice. Just a question, what is the "tank" for. Seems to be pressurised because the wat lid locks. Thanks.
It's SO helpful, man, thank you!!!
Hi Robert, do you have another way to get a hold of you. Email maybe? Thanks. Long time subscriber.
Hi I'm from Nigeria.. can the technique be used for making car bumbers
What a treat seeing a real man doing things old school…. No need for push sticks Bob knows what he’s doing ….. thanks Robert sir xxx
Thank you very much for your video
I wish we were neighbors... But not in California.
Should give it a try with PVA filament as it dissolves in water
I thought a soldering iron would work fine.... not. at. all. I've tried to cheap out 3 times now, despite how many times i've learned that lesson in life. Just get the damn thing. First I got an old Giles off of Ebay. It was defunct and the seller vanished so I was stuck with it. Then I got some cheap dental tool wax thing from China and the heating was crazy inconsistent and just basically didn't function at all. Now I got the solder iron and its way too hot and clunky, the sticky wax falls right off and I obliterate any vent I get near. Yeah I'm beyond frustrated with myself at this point. Let this be a lesson to others. The wax sprues are really delicate so you need a tool specifically designed to work with them; just get the Foredom.
Finally, the person I´ve been waiting for all these years. Thank you for showing up and sharing. Cheers from Argentina.
Hi is this the same ? XPS (extruded polystyrene) foam
