This channel started out with a way to share fun videos...when I only had a few posted. It has turned into more of a tool to show others some of my projects, as well as helping anyone that I can with various hobbies. The main focus of my channel from this point forward will be focused on automotive. Mainly thirdgen f-bodies, and more specifically, swapping in later LS series motors.
Of course, Im a real guy...so there will always be videos of my son, or the occasional gun tech, or other random things. So enjoy it for what it is! If you would like to see something specific, I would surely do my best to accomodate! Rather than make a new channel, Im choosing to just keep my current (and very old) channel going. So check back often to see if there is anything new!
Also thank you for the subs! All views and subs help me out. I choose to monetize my videos and any proceeds go directly to funding my project and to making more videos!

Thanks! That was so helpful.
Can you make another one and show us how you clocked it cause I'm trying to make this work for a 1986 monte Carlo SS
Thank you for sharing. I’m a major diy girl🤣🤣
heck ya it worked for me too. thank you
this project is insane, exactly what I want to replicate
Crank sensor is easiest under the dash there’s a boot that comes off with a pre drilled out hole for it
I have problem can a 2002 transfer case fit a 2006 chev
@@kelleybey2735 possibly! It will probably bolt up but you need to check the spline count on both the trans output and transfer case input. If they are the same, it might work.
Popping wood! 🤣🤣
How much more horsepower you get out of it!? And or torque?
No clue! Never made it to the dyno. I street tuned it, and it made enough to occasionally scare the crap out of me, so just didn't get there. New owners might have had it on the dyno. I sold it a couple years ago.
@@JEGsGarage if you had to guess?
@@JEGsGarage sounds awesome! I can see your body shift from force when you gun it.
@@JEGsGarageI'm guessing your getting some extra torque?
@@spi_890 maybe 350-380 rwhp? Same ballpark for torque. Pure guess. It wasn't a wild setup.
Great helpful info! And the best most effective kind, short and to the point. Thanks!
Do whatever you want with your car, but don't do this to your customer's. Also, realize that there's not much room on top of the tank, the fuel and vapor lines, wires will all be sandwiched in-between the floorplan and tank. It is super easy to cut something you'll regret.
30k subs and 30k likes is an unbelievable ratio!
This worked great! Thanks!
I’ve been lied too, exact same car and mine are gonna be hard to get out 😭 3:40
It shouldn't be. Of course these cars are another 8 years older now so maybe it will be tougher!
Nice. I tested my sending unit and it's at 1.5v. No way I am spending $130 on a sending unit though.
It looks Great, i loke that modification
I made them on 2 ford exploders I used an old license plate black rtv and 4 self tapping bolts wallah an awesome accessory hatch!
Nine years later and your video is still appreciated. Thanks
Great video. Just did my 2003 highlander. Greattttttt. Also you can do the same thing with the line that comes out from reservoir into this line.... just buy a 3/8 × 40inch. Works great. Saved money on this.
I have a 2007 chev up lander where to drill hole inside car I don't know where pump is in fuel tank in the in the middle or end of tank let me know if you will thanks.
No clue Ray. You'll need to locate the pump, verify clearances, and then decide where you can cut. Every vehicle will be different.
Night hawk
I got a 83 550 n I beleave there is 3 fuel lines 2 on typ one on bottom am.i wrong
Man, you are my savior. I took my calipers apart but forgot where the 2 little metal clip thingys went since there's passed a few week in the meantime. Solid video and thanks a lot, brother!
Awesome! Glad this video is helping someone out! Thanks for the comment.
Nailed it. My 2002 Highlander brake lights are not working correctly.
Thanks for pointing me to the tail light socket. When I removed the wire harness plug, I could see two of the six pins in the socket were coated with greenish gunk while the other four pins were bright and shiny. Also, residue on the surface inside the socket around the gunked-up pins suggest the pins had been submerged in water sometime during the past 19 year life of my 2005 Highlander. I removed the gunk using a dental probe, just like cleaning plaque off teeth. There still seemed to be some burned varnish on the surface of the pins. So I sprayed some contact cleaner on a thin cloth wrapped around a tiny screwdriver and got the two pins mostly clean. I then sprayed the contact cleaner into the socket and did a few cycles of connecting and disconnecting the wire harness plug. Problem solved!
Hey bro, Thank you for this! I was having the exact same problem with my 2003 Highlander V6 as well. I followed your video and boom, had it working in 10 minutes. The connection seemed very loose to the bulb that held the wiring harness, so I reinforced with some electrical tape. Seems like it is pretty snug in place now. Thanks again for sharing this! Huge help!
Have the same problem with my spec clutch! Maybe an inch of take up at the very top. Everybody told me the same thing. I couldn't drive blah blah blah then they stall it or rev it way to high too fast. Having issues with it so about to change it for a monster or mcleod.
IT WORKS! Thanks man. I'm a simple mechanical man. but this was easy.
Nice!!! Glad the video is still helping folks!
Why cant you just thread them out and thread the arp back in? Thats what I did and it seems to woek fine.
You might be able to. I was just going off research I did back then. Might be way more info now!
Great project, loved your process. I have an 1989 Suburban V1500 and I just bought an LQ9 to swap. Lots of LQ9 info out there BUT what i really need is wiring diagrams for the Burb...I'm betting that your 1988 diagrams are the same as my 1989. Any chance you have those? Can share those? Or direct me to a source for these? Thanks!!
@brianmeadows4216 I'm pretty sure I have all of that. How do you want me to send? I think I have lots of docs that might help.
Finally...someone posted a great video of the teardown. Man you have a TON of knowledge....you made a subscriber out of me!
You need that magnetic tray from Harbor Freight to keep all those bolts! Of course, I'm always to lazy to walk over and get it so end up dropping a bolt. Good video, did you have any re-occurence of the issue after this fix?
Haha I have several of those darn trays but always forget to grab them. The jeep always ran perfect after this. It's long since been sold, but never an issue. Thanks for watching and for the comment!
@@JEGsGarage Thanks for making the video JEGS! A friend is thinking of getting one and I would have no problem working on it. would you say that overall it was good? I have also seen references to valve seat damage on these vehicles...
@@hindflight I'll never speak a bad word about jeeps with 4.0's!! Those were the best years and I'll never change my mind haha. Valve seats weren't an issue as far as I know. Head cracking was an issue for certain casting numbers. And you gotta make sure they have oil pressure. Otherwise they're tank engines and live forever!
@@JEGsGarage Thanks alot for the info! I'll probably check compression for any I look at
@@hindflight compression and leak down! My 93 has a totally trashed exhaust valve, split right open. Somehow it passed sniffer, passed compression. But when I did leak down I found it. It only had a slightly rough idle that was chasing haha.
And thanks for the shout out buddy!!!!
You are a beast working in the cold garage!!!
Diggin all the excellent videos. Keep on grinding!!
Yeah buddy!!!!!!!!!!
I can't get mine to work. I've downloaded many pdf files and i can't seem to find my gauge. It has the 10 pin in the gauge and a spot for the bulb. All the ones i see are led. Bought the 40$ 10 pin connector. I don't think I'm writing it up correctly. Turning to you tube for help.
SOUNDS GREAT, NICE VIDEO............
So you check ptv with zero lash on the adjustable i ordered my size pushrods and was checking with those then noticing the valve was staying open with checker spring on base circle
Yeah you sort of have to factor in all of the measurements. Light springs, no lifter preload, etc. At least that's how I did it. It's been a long time.
Tanks for helme
Thanks for you help
HI, can any help me with mi 09 v8? i want to do this but where can i find the gray/orange wire? where is located? Thanks!
It's just under the dash on the passenger side. More towards the transmission tunnel. If you Google you'll probably find a photo. It's not hard to get to.
@@JEGsGarage thanks!
Wow my 2001 is having the same problem I just purchased some bulbs and that's not it. I am going out to try this now
Feb 2024 and this is still legit. 04 highlander and left brake light not illuminating. Already bought new bulbs and tail light fuse but still not working right. Just unplugged the connector from the bulb and put back in, worked like a charm. Saved myself a hundred fifty bucks. Kudos to you 🫡🫡🫡 You just earned a new follower!
Glad the video helped! Thanks for the comment sir!
Thanks for this video i got to replace mines aswell same car same year too 🙌🏽🔥
Good luck! Hope the video helped some!
Just did this today on my 77 impalas headliner and holy SHI! What a time saver
A quality Universal Joint is an upgrade over a broken rag joint but condemning it because it flexes? It Is Supposed To Do That!
Condemn is a strong word. Dislike is better. Worn out rag joints can suck. But even good rag joints don't feel as positive as the u-joints. Some like that road feedback. I personally have had more rag joints that were fine than not fine. I will tell you whenever I get steering shafts they sell like hotcakes. Last batch I sold over 40 in just a couple days!
@@JEGsGarage Everyone dislikes them because they SEE the flex without understanding they are suppose to flex. I don't disagree a universal joint is more "solid". I don't like flex joints on a driveshaft like what's on a Hellcat or C63 AMG but there is ZERO difference in feel when a flex joint is used on a steering shaft. High Five on selling 40 but it means nothing in this debate. They are all without slip joints too.
@@JEGsGarage A good rag joint has zero play in rotation. I'm not here to judge a steel universal joint vs a rubber impregnated with fiber. It's the loss of the slip joint on a full frame car I don't agree with.
@@jeffchan9176 haha I didn't respond to the last comment because I figured ide let you have your opinion, which is totally fine and I respect your opinion. However, to your new point about the slip joint, these 100% are a slip joint, actually they collapse way easier than the factory shaft which becomes seized over time, and most people that use them do not have full frame cars. Not sure why full frame vs unibody would make a difference in the shaft needing to collapse... All good. These are solid ujoint, collapsible steering shafts that save space, provide a good steering feel, at a fraction of what aftermarket setups run. Nothing more.
@@JEGsGarage It's not just an opinion, it's a good healthy debate between 2 mechanical minds. The unibody vs full frame is the movement between the steering column and steering box. When a body is on rubber bushings the distance is constantly changing. It may only be 1/4" but there is movement. Trucks have them too. Slip joint is not the same as collapse. The collapse is for accidents.
I also had to disable the Starter Check before the engine would start. My engine startled me when it did start because I wasn't expecting the Starter Check was the cause. I also didn't video it...😉
Right? When it barked off I was like no way this'll work. It was a nice surprise just violent haha.
It's pronounced like Te-has. The company is in Texas. It's Spanish.
Haha since filming that, I had many conversations with Scott and I did ask him how to pronounce it. But thanks for posting that because I forgot that I mispronounced it like 20 times!
Yessir. Texas boy here. Keep em coming. Looking forward to seeing this beast run.@@JEGsGarage
This hint is priceless. I am determind to have fun fixing mine myself. Thanks for sharing.
