Hi, very helpful video ❤. English is not my first language. I have a degree in HRM in one of the UK universities and I want to study PGCE primary. I am in desperate need of some reassurance. Do you think I will make it. I am excellent at English writing and spelling but sometimes hesitant to talk English freely.

I have been looking for current or ex beneficiaries of this get into Teaching program. Great video Cher! I found myself nodding along to a lot of what you said. I am at the end of ECT1 in Year 6. Moving to Year 5 next year. I have made a whole list of things I’ll do the same/differently next year to try and reduce burn out/workload. Staying in my class when I don’t feel up to socialising on breaks/after school is #1. Luckily my partner teacher is quite introverted too so we have a silent understanding 😂 Here’s to ECT2 for both of us!

Do you need pgce to teach? Or can you gain QTS without pgce? As my SCITT program gave us an option whether we want to opt out of the PGCE and do NON-PGCE route to QTS, (Partnership London)

You need a QTS to teach in this country but if you would like to teach abroad someday you would need the PGCE too

Hello really enjoying your channel finished my PGCE in 2022 hoping to start my ect 1 soon. Keep going your amazing. Also I deffo will say that teachers like us get treated differently, I found that when other trainees needed help they were supported, but when I made mistakes or was unaware of something as they did not tell me, I was made to feel less than - we deffo need more black teachers as many other BME teachers had the same experience.

It may not suit everyone but try to get bits of planning/admin done during your breaks, language/music lessons (where another teacher is leading) or independent working/reading sessions!
