  It always seems like they love the substrate, but you are right, of course. Some sort of replaceable liner is safer, and far more sanitary. Dragon's "taste" everything, so extra care is needed...kinda-like a puppy eating anything it sees. Lol, I do hope they heed your warning, though. Loose substrates are a serious health risk at any age for these lizards. Their natural environment (the Aussie desert) is hard pack soil, and rocks.

  That's simply amazing! Definitely a amazing act of bravery on the squirrel's part, and lot's of patience on the humans part as well. Luv watching squirrels and their crazy antics! They are super smart and will figure out just about anything to get to the nuts and bird feeders! They also luv peanut butter! Go figure.💯❤️🐿️😉
