How many days of use before you started seeing improvement? Are you still using it?
Around 2 weeks and yes absolutely
Back in the early eighties a mate and myself biked down to the south of France. He had a Yamaha XS1100 and I had a Suzuki GS850. Half way through the holiday he had his stolen while we were on the beach. Spent the rest of the day reporting it to the police. Had to post half our luggage back to UK and ride two up all the way back.
Bloody hell !!
My BMW GS 1250 Triple Black with a black top box and crash bars was stolen by moped thieves in London, Ealing last Friday, 21.06. It took them just a few seconds to break the steering lock before they pushed it off with a powerful scooter. I heard the alarm go off and ran after them for around 400 meters, shouting and ready to confront them. Despite my efforts, the builders at the end of the street heard me shouting but did nothing and let them pass by easily. The thieves were two black guys with balaclavas on their faces. I was visiting my client at the time. If anyone has any information or saw anything, please let me know. Stay safe out there, everyone.
It’s getting beyond a joke throughout the UK - nobody in a position to sort this out gives a shit - and the scumbags know it 😳
Welcome to the New Old world !
Absolutely 🥹
scumbags
Had a bike stolen a few years ago had it chained locked and secured door and they still got it ,I’ve got chains locks alarms and cctv now hope for the best
Yes, thats my plan but as they say ....if they really want it nothing will stop them - just accept if its there in the morning its a blessing !
hi kev STUNNING and CRYSTAL CLEAR.what a peace of kit ....old dave
Just unbelievable Dave 😇
Sadly this is the UK today,it doesnt encourage you to have anything nice anymore.
So many people think the same - such a shame 😳
Watch the fuckers don’t come back
Been to Germany and Austria often with my bike. There you can almost always park your bike in a closed garage at a motel or hotel. Often the owner even parks his car in front of the garage door. And even then ,we lock two bikes together on the frame with a special 1,8 meter safety chain, so they bikes can not be moved parted. But things like this happen, so don't let is scare you away from your dream rides.
Thank you 🙏🏻
When I saw the video I though " seems its not only in the UK" and then sh** this was in the UK... Theft in the UK is out of control.
Whoa, it's crazy how theft is on the rise everywhere, right?
That what happens when government is liberal towards thief's. Similar thing happens in Ireland from what I heard when in Dublin bikes can get stolen really quickly by youth thieves that police and government are not doing anything about. Glad you have your bike.
Everyone is scared to be jailed if they stand up to todays awful youth culture - and the main trouble is they know it
@@KevinLearAdventures Unfortunately there is high probability of this happening if you get involved. Its just how stupid things are. Instead of being commended for stopping/interfering with a crime you might get jailtime or a fine because you caused body harm, especially if you wait for police. When you get injured during such situation police will unlikely find the perp. Sad and infuriating situation really.
‘I’m ’aving some of that”!….then get a job, earn some money and buy one 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
Oh cant be doing that it might melt the entitled bunch of snowflake shits - country if totally broken because nobody in government or police ! has a backbone anymore
Bike theft in GB is insane. In germany I don’t lock even the handlebar, not even on my 2022 Goldwing or 2020 Africa twin. You just won’t have that problem at typical bike places or your garage. The only bikes I hear being stolen obviously on order are new Ducatis at dealers and fancy pants Harleys. Thieves don’t bother with used crap from Japan.
That's crazy about the bike theft in GB! Good to know about the situation in Germany. Keep your bikes safe, folks!
My bikes are always in the street in Germany. The last theft is dated about 40y ago. (Honda CB250). Vandalism , yes , occasionally, but no theft at all. But my bikes are usually 20y old. Instead 3 bycicles have been stolen....
Thank you for sharing your experience with bike safety in Germany! - if only it was so in the UK :-(
I never go near biker cafes/meets/race meetings etc on my bike. Never stop for fuel in a city. Alway stay in accommodation at least 40 miles from a town. Do the same in Europe. I do not ride at weekends. Sad fact of life. The above also limits my interaction with traffic coppers. That's a bonus.
Isnt it such a shame we have to take these precautions - but it is just how things are - no coppers and loads of scumbags :-(
Europe set itself up for being a safe, secure, open community. It then allowed all the criminals in to run amok.
Europe opened its doors, but maybe forgot to install the security system!
Weekend before last, on the way up to Scotland, me and a mate stopped over at a Lenny Henry Inn in Sunderland. Locked our bikes up with disc locks and steering lock. Woke up at 07.40 the next day to see my Aprilia Caponord gone and just my mates Tiger 1050 on its own in the car park. Ran down to reception who were on the phone to the police. It had been stolen ten minutes earlier at 07.30 in broad daylight, right outside reception and with people coming and going into the hotel. Police arrived and went to look for it. Two hours later the scumbags came back to nick my mates Tiger!!! A few of the Housekeeping girls ran out as they were trying to smash his disc lock off with a brick and the toerags jumped on their dirt bike and disappeared. They are sc*m - they take what they want. They are absolute oxygen thieves. I had a six hour, £120 train journey home. On the plus side, I had bought a new bike less than 48 hours later!!!
Just a complete nightmare ....
Steering lock is pointless i never use it i put my bike in the garage with a vibration alarm on the bike , a vibration alarm on the garage door , a decent alarm disk lock and the garage is armed connected to the house alarm plus CCTV and a fcuking baseball bat .....get an ALMAX chain 22ml with a big fcuk off ground anchor and alarm your garage , yeh people will always say if they want it they will take it thats actually bullshit i have had first hand experience of this with just beefing up security 99% will always choose an easier target, as soon as the house alarm triggers they will fcuk off into the sewers like little rats your garage at night or day should be your fortress if it means spending a grand then do it .........
Totally agree and plans are in progress to do as you suggest buddy - thank you 🙏🏻
Bastards. Sorry to hear this. However it may not be because of you doing more Bids etc. it may just have been a group that has seen you and followed you. Wrong place at the wrong time . I didn’t know. But don’t stop doing what you’re doing. Ok the trip is postponed. But as soon as you are able… get back on it asap. My big hate is when I take my bike home. Who’s around. Who’s watching etc etc. As long as you’re safe that’s all that matters… catch you soon …
100% - I’ve gotten over it now and will be boosting security best I can 👌
@@KevinLearAdventures great stuff 👍👍
Really sorry to hear this story, Kevin - thank goodness you still have your bike. If you want to get yourself some top notch security, get in touch and we'll be happy to help.
How bizarre I was just looking !! - be interesting to have a chat that’s for sure 👍- [email protected]
As someone who travels the world on a motorcycle this is my biggest nightmare. We are extremely cautious when we leave it somewhere. Never park in the streets when we are not around, etc. Still its something that's bound by luck. It only needs one criminal to see it.. Quite sad..
Agreed - really upset me but I’ve come out the other side and looking to future travels 🙏🏻
This is an important topic. Of much concern to riders. It would be great if lodging locations would indicate if they are bike-centric with closed-off, gated or otherwise monitored parking area.
Get used to it this is the world the globalist want..... It will get worse and worse as the levelling up continues to allow the removal of goods from those that work hard for them.
totally agree with you - it is our own responsibility for security and use the best we can afford
@@KevinLearAdventures you can only do so much until you either withdraw or you fight back, there just feels like this is very much by intent, not always those at the front we see but behind the scenes. Certainly the next few years are looking like anyone that wants to take from others is going to get free rein under the coming gov. This ones not been any good either.
Hi Kevin can I ask what handlebar bag you use
It’s from Giant Loop buddy
Sorry to hear your story might just have followed you home then they know where it lives come back any time I just had my Africa twin stolen from outside the MOT station there went my June holiday Niver leave your bike at your house where it can be seen from the road. Advice from police hope all works out well
Solutions already sorted buddy all being ok that is - thank you for your message
Sorry to hear that some people have tried to steal your pride and joy and it’s ruined your plans 😢. I’ve heard a lot of bikes are now moved around outside so they can check if it’s got a tracker on it. But does sound like a targeted crime and trying to leave no evidence to be tracked from. Hope you do make your Tour!
Cheers buddy - plans have been made and extra security will be installed
I'm off to Scotland next week on my first ever bike tour, I'm trying not to let the worry of the bike going missing dominate the trip.
Buddy, this is the first time ever in decades my bike has been got at, so its not common - make sure you take security though it just makes sense - have a great Scotland adventure :-)
Stay away from Edinburgh, it's a nightmare for theft.
@@Markycarandbikestuff it’s just out of control 😢
This is why I’ve dumped all my social media, everything, because it’s an invitation to scum to target you. Was pondering doing something on here regarding my new bike when it arrives, but can’t be bothered when I see stuff life this. We’ve gone down the shitter well and truly.
Yep and the cops could not care less - it’s a total joke buddy
@@KevinLearAdventures That’s the sad reality now, cops are more interested in ‘hurty word’ crimes. My workshop is now like Fort Knox with cctv, alarms, double padlocks etc after a neighbour had both his and his wife’s new bikes stolen by thieving fifth. He reckons they were followed home he’s convinced that’s how they knew where to get the spoils - worst part is they were watching telly as their bikes were being put in the back of a van. He looked at my security system and upgraded his accordingly.
So it happened at home?
Yep - my own fault really
Hi kev looking good .this all sounds exciting mate .old dave .
Fingers crossed buddy - cant let the bastards grind you down :-)
Hi Kev, sorry to hear. I retired may last year , bought a adv bike, off to Spain , great. Next decided on Lake District up to Scotland across to N. Ireland,to do Wild Atlantic, great. Stayed in Dublin ( return ferry ) bike stolen. Gutted. This year proud owner of Tiger Rally off I go again. Almost a parallel life. Don’t let the Scutters ( scum in gutters) win . 🏍️💨 👍
Cheers Mike - I will have an announcement next week……..😎
Total scumbags is the best discription! but at least you still have your bike and hopefully it will be repaired soon. but your attitude is that stands out for me hats of to you 😊
Thank you 🙏🏻
Absolutely gutted for you Kev, it's always in the back of my mind how vulnerable motorbikes are. Our pride and joy ruined by thieving little scumbags...
Isn’t that the truth 😢
@@KevinLearAdventures If you’ve videoed the route to or from your house, then it makes the thieves’ jobs a lot easier. No idea if that’s the case, but I’ve figured out where a lot of KZreadrs lived from their vids. What you need to understand is that they WILL come back. Secure the door far better. It should be impossible to open from the outside. NEVER use ordinary padlocks without metal box over them. Fit cameras and lights, waist height motion detectors (to avoid being triggered by cats and foxes) rigged up to an alarm, plus a tamper alarm on the door. If they attacked my place, I would definitely be waiting for them. Good luck mate. Peace 🏴
@@G58 good advice buddy thank you 🙏🏻
@@KevinLearAdventures You’re welcome mate. I know what it’s like.
Well as a "wardler" born n bred i left there after the ice age.....since I started riding bikes 30 years ago ...I've seen more of my birthplace than I did when I lived there....😂 best of health best wishes from Cumbria......
Happy days 😎
Interesting why they took all the security bits with them, I bet they are sitting in their cave now with the bits finding out how they work and how to beat them ready for the next bike they want to steal, sorry for all the astel they caused you.
Someone mentioned they take stuff so theres no evidence - they used bolt cutters so no noise !
Looks like they just wanted to show you that they can have it if they want it !
Yeah, it looks like they're just proving a point, you know?
So my question didn't the alarms go off? I have a flood light that comes on and cameras along with two alarms..... If only we were allowed to have explosive chains or wired to 240volt So sad the morons seem to be wining 😡😡😡
Thats a whole other story about the tracker !
So don't advertise all over the internet what your up to. I ride all over europe regularly, nobody knows where I am or what I ride. Don't feel the need to tell the whole world what i'm up to...
Fantastic victim blaming there - well done 🤡
It is a fair point though, however it is also then finding out where I live, and if I keep the bike at home - so its irrelavant being on social media because Im not the only one :-)
Interesting point but in todays world irrelevant theres millions of people and if they chose me from millions - thats impressive to say the least
I had the best security system ever when I had my bike in Europe. I brought my Ural. Was never touched the whole time there... I hate bike thieves and apparently they hate Urals.
Yep I googled URAL - cool bikes absolutely - if they want something they’ll have it no matter what 😢
Police only interested in alleged woke crime not victims of motor or burglary my local allotments got vandalised burglared 3 x no police turn up
100% - i should have said someone called me names online and id have a street full of cops
They take all the debris for a couple of reasons. DNA and they like to give you hassle with the insurance company that you can't prove you used a lock.
Ah ok, that didnt even cross my mind - makes perfect sense
Did u tell police ? Not that they are bothered but it’s a mare r
I did, and nope not bothered at all - they dont come out anymore - it'll probably upset them !
Friend of mine connected the garage door to the mains...
Not the first time I’ve been advised to do that 😂
We’ve got similar bikes (GT Pro), I never bothered with the steering lock they’re easy to smash, mine is kept in a brick garage with plenty of security etc……..but the biggest security deterrent (I feel) is stealth. Never park outside my house, keep a low profile, never advertise I have bike with stickers on cars or things that might give the game away, bike is always covered up. My Dobermans sleep in the garage (it’s heated) but a dog bowl left outside your house, with a few beware of the dog signs is a cheap way to make any scumbag think twice……they don’t like dogs.
I’ve just swopped my Explorer for the new GT Pro - I must be more secure 100% Andrew
@@KevinLearAdventuresAh that’s interesting, so is this the updated 24 model with modified crank and slightly higher pegs? Anyway, whatever it is let’s hope it isn’t robbed good luck to you 👍
One thing i always do is keep my keys on a Suzuki key ring in case they get stolen. I’ve never owned a Suzuki.
@@steveinskip4897 yes mine is keyless and imobilised - increased security is now being implemented 👌
Sorry to hear that Kevin. It must be so disappointing. After many years, I have come to the conclusion that you do the basics such as locked garage, D locks, ground anchors, alarm and chain etc and then you just have to accept that if it goes it's going to be weary. Going through a 20 minute ritual of unlocking, unbolting, etc. would ruin the experience for me. On another note, if it goes, I don't want it back. I used to have a tracker: I've now got an alarm.
Ive done an amazing deal with Triumph Newcastle - the bike had to go and already found a superb place to keep it - but you are spot on if it goes, it goes :-(
@@KevinLearAdventures Great to hear. It warms the soul.
Caravan Utilising Nomadic Travelling Society
yep the Can't Understand Normal Thinking Species...
I'll have to remember that one 😂
Sorry to see this , sounds like your not a million mile from me , I’m up in consett. Bike theft is bad at the minute everywhere.
Im in county durham and the chap who took my bike away said exactly the same - its a shocking situation :-(
For many years I kept a ‘baby monitor’ in the garage with receiver by the bed. Clearly they would be twarted from the very start. Even the birds sounded like they had hob nailed boots on!
Those birds must have been practicing their tap dancing routine!
I still use one ot those now, monitor on table next to my bed and camera facing the inside garage door 👍🏻, you can even hear the rain on the garage roof 🙉😁.
@@whitetribe6424 Great minds think alike 🫡
We used to have a peaceful village and then the council decided to build loads of new housing and warehouses next to it. Now crime is sky high and everything gets vandalised, people are leaving.... But where can we go to? This was where we moved to to escape the crime. I want to blame the immigrants as it's mostly their kids doing it, but the white kids are doing it too, their parents don't give a crap. I hate this new generation, we've had a complete social collapse and this seems to be happening all over the west. Australia has managed to stay fine until now, but their lefty government is doing their best to destroy it like our lefty Tories have done to the UK. I swear this is all planned, the politicians are being paid off by China and they're destroying the west.
It is happening all over the world because children havwe been todl they can do no wrong, they can be whatever gender they please and there are no proper police anymore - they are running riot and politicians are scared to bring back discipline
I'm glad you still have your motorcycle. You were lucky. We stopped going to England 25 years ago after being robbed twice. Anyone is targeted there - not only you. Mainland Europe isn't perfect, but it's much safer than England - except when your hooligans are visiting.
UK is a shocking place now - such a shame but it’s been broken beyond repair
@@KevinLearAdventures Back in the seventies and eighties we really enjoyed visiting your beautiful country and friendly people. I hope you'll be sorted and ready soon. You'll always be welcome here.
