Solid Collab Episode Sir Nico, gained a lot from this. Hopefully one more preview episode before UAAP 87.
Yes game yan
Maybe someone knows the answer to a question i always had in my mind.: How did Ryan Buenafe even pass the ACET? I know the drill of conditioning prospects without tampering to help them pass the entrance exams like private tutors, counselling etc. but the guy is just... you know what scratch that. This is better: How in the world did he even get to last 5 years in Ateneo?
Well, he is an exception then. Maybe at that time, mas lenient pa ung ateneo since baka nafforesee nila ung dynasty with a deadly lineup like that. After that, baka ntuto na dn sila lalo and got stricter to their principles.

Let’s try!!
Nico let me ask you (I also asked Navs this same question). Something crossed my mind a few days ago. I'd like to ask your opinion. There are 3 tournaments in one season in the pro league, right? And I've been hearing that a lot of fans and "local (homegrown) players" in the Philippines are not happy that there are so many "HALFERs" (half-Filipinos) in the pros now because it lessens the opportunities for homegrown players to earn a good living by playing pro basketball. *The idea that came to my mind was this: Maybe there should be 1 tournament wherein ALL the players are homegrown only. That would be a legit, true-to-its-word "ALL FILIPINO TOURNAMENT", right? Then 1 tournament wherein the teams are allowed to have HALFERS together with their homegrown players. And then 1 tournament wherein the teams will be allowed to hire an American or European import (no height limit, up to each team if they need a center or wing or a shooter or a playmaker) to play with the homegrown AND the halfers. And to make it more interesting, allow the 2 or 3 or 4 lowest ranked teams to hire 2 imports (but only 1 at-a-time on court). That would make it a true blue OPEN TOURNAMENT, right?* I also think that fans would find the significant difference between each of the 3 tournaments interesting and intriguing.
“Halfers” are filipino too
LOL paurong yan. paano ka makakaproduce ng NBA caliber kung tatanggalin mo yun competition. kaya nauunahan tayo ng japan eh. di rin naman lahat ng filams nagtthrive sa PBA.
Appreciate the comment bro! Uhm for me Halfers are still Pinoys at the end of the day. They increase the level of competition so I welcome them definitely. The more challenges our local born players get, the better! :)
Okay ba gagasto tsong.
I guest he will be the steal of the draft.. i will assume he will do best in the PBA..
It will be fun to monitor RoS from here on out!

Bakit wala si femi edu sa ateneo. Plsss pa answer
Should be here already
@@NicoRochabakit wala sya sa laro ng ateneo last month?
I think knowing CTC loves to pick filams and bigmen made the pick for RJ surprising....I was also rooting for Balunggay or Tiongson for the 3rd pick...Cstand is a big Shoes to fill especially Japhet is also in his late 30s...Adamos is a decent player but he's not even half as good as Isaac Go.
Can’t wait to see how this new Ginebra looks like!
After Ginebra chose RJ sa 3rd pick I think mejo naging closer yun trade...not because of the value but because of how Ginebra became vulnerable without a legit post player...with Abarrientos and Holt i felt like mejo naging guard Heavy sila tpos bumagsak ang inside presence nila...Japhet is not getting any younger getting a Balunggay and pairing him with Go is a much scarier combination specially with Malonzo at the SF holt sa SG at Scottie sa PG... PS: I'm a Converge fan and Im against farm trades
Bat wala si femi edu sa ateneo?
hahaha...saying RJ abarrientos is not talented enough??are you joking???...😂😂😂😂
Halatang di ka nakikinig HAHAHAHA
I have a feeling that Scottie's injury is far worse than that of Malonzo, that's why they opted for RJ over Ballungay. Mukng recurring yung back injury nung Thompson. Tayo, ang feeling natin, sobrang dami nating point guard pero, kng titignang mabuti, ilan ba among our guards 24yo and younger ang playmaker tlga? Si RJ, at 5'10, 5'11, that's a good size for a legitimate playmaker. Usually yung mga ganyang height na "point guard" mga scorer ang instinct. To further emphasize, RJ, earlier today, dished out 12 assists in just 16 minutes of play. He's a good pick up para sakin at pabor yan sa Gilas. That has just opened up the possibility of Gilas having a legitimate point guard
hindi naman po actually surprise pick ni ctc si rj kasi based on earlier reports, target talaga ni ctc makakuha ng isang big at isang pg, and si balti sana dapat yung big, tapos si rj talaga kukunin sa pg. kaso, alam ni ctc, malabo makuha si balti kasi for sure 1st round 1st pick over-all palang wala na. kaya nga nilakad umakyat sa 3rd pick over-all ang kings para mahabol nila yung 2nd target nila, which is si rj nga po for the pg. so, picking pg rj is not a surprise pick at all, despite everyone saying sana big man, kasi planado pagkuha sa kanya. kukuha po talaga si ctc ng big pero as a tactical coach, kung sino or sinu-sino talaga ang taget ng coach (in this case, si ctc), sila lang talaga ang priority. eh hindi na available si balti as his choice for big sana, so ctc - being a smart tactical coach - will not settle for any other big na hindi naman nya gustong kunin. kaya move sya sa listed 2nd target, which is for the pg position, imbes na kumuha ng ibang big sa 1st round, tapos makuha ng iba si rj na kasama sa target talaga ni ctc. ctc for me showed how tactically smart he is as a coach. he will not settle for 2nd choices. he only aims to get the best, and if he lost the chance to do so, he will never pick anyone else. yung mga next picks ng kings after rj, fillers nalang po tong mga to for the sake of draft picking. pero malamang sa malamang, bangko ang mga to... unless they explode early in the season once given limited playing time. but it all starts with the practice, kung sa practice palang mediocre ang laro, never expect them to be fielded in the actual court. honestly, napapakamot din ako ng ulo kasi, sana after rj, sa second round ctc could have gotten the next best big avaialble. kaso nga, again, his eyes are on balti lang talaga for the big. kaso nga, sayang din kesa puro guards yung sumunod. pero okay narin kasi meron naman na si isaac go and ben adamos na both perfect for anchoring the triangle from the low/high post.
Are they preparing to trade pinto or scottie with arrival of abarientos
Pinto feel ko. Scottie is too valuable to get traded haha
Quality content man!
Thank you brother!!
ung Lastimosa for me maling pick yan laking riskkk sobra
Tingnan natin bro! Mukhang calculated risk naman.
KAILANGAN NI CTC...IBALIK ANG DATING TEAM NG ALASKA FOR GRANSLAM...YAN ANG GINAGAWA NILA NGAYON SA GINEBRA...
Parang same set of players bro?
Winner sa draft mga independent team Losser mga SMC at MVP group
Lakas na ng RoS!
Ginebra - RJ the future PG pamalit kay Tenorio for the triangle kaya pinick up ng 3rd overall. Scottie more comfortable in Sg position. Go perfect for triangle with shooting, IQ, passing Big man. Spread the floor triangle na Ginebra Northport - Defensive Steals snatcher backcourt Jio and Munzon top players steal category. Fran yu pa! deeeep guard spot roster Ildefonso, Nelle. Forwards all set Tolentino, Navarro. Got a Big as well Abu Tratter. Solid Northport! ROS- Tiongson swerteng swerte umabot pa sa Ros bagay na bagay mga gustong player ni Coach Yeng. Lemetti maybe sleeper iba mangilatis si Coach Yeng ng diamond in the rough unknown player. Mukhang magaling na playmaker mabilis with handles! Magnolia-could have get Nelle than Lastimosa lalo na injury pa. Injury prone pa si Lee, natrade pa si Jio. Lucero good pick up could learn alot from Sangalang Thank you guys new to the channel More power! Independent teams nanalo sa Draft!
Nice comment here bro! Thanks and appreciate you for checking the channel out 🫡 More episodes to come
Nung draft day I was thinking kailangan nang Ginebra Point Guard and Power Forward since Scottie is injured as well as Jamie. Sa PF position nila after Brownlee si Onwubere na ang next, yun pala itratrade sya kay Ben Adamos. Now it make sense why they went to Abarrientos over Ballungay. One thing as wel, tingin ko hinahabol na nila na makagrandslam ang Ginebra this season since may balita na malapit na marevert sa 2 conference format ang PBA. Ginebra is the only team on SMC umbrella and Coach Tim's team na di pa nakakapag grandslam. Here will be their line up this coming conference. Abarrientos Holt Cu Brownlee Go Pinto Ahanmisi Gray J. Aguilar Adamos Tenorio Pessumal Mariano R. Aguilar
Solid take on this lineup! Thanks for watching as well!
Finally! A unique podcast with tito mikee! hahaha Good job Nico!
Thank you!
Importante pa ba ang terrafirma pick? Hahahaha pinaswap nga lang yung 3rd pick nila. Which is si rjhay na dapat. Rjhay over nonoy?
Actually lahat nung 2nd round picks ng Ginebra trinade nila sa Terrafirma after ng draft! For a 2nd round pick ng Dyip sa Season 50
Ohhh? Sana naman. Atleast playoffs na naman this conference for dyip.
Before the Adamos trade, I was questioning why Ginebra in the 2nd didn't take advantage of taking a chance to draft the best big available in the 5th by going for Hanapi over Brandon or Kuya Ben or Javillonar.... But the RJ Abbarientos Pick is a big boost, LA Tenorio might hang up his shoes soon, Scottie is recovering from injury then we have Mav and Nards who are great guards but iba parin ang May LA and Scottie na nasa court but RJ will be a great one, just make him commit to the triangle.
Thanks for watching bro!!
Harvest time
😅
lol they are surprised Abarrientos got pick by 3rd overall, these are not that smart in terms of basketball🤣🤣 Abarrientos is the perfect pick for ginebra coz of LA getting older.
So Scottie and Mav are????
Both are not true PGs. RJ's pedigree, with Coach Tim's history with the Flying A, KBL ROY, Gilas Stint. This should have been expected after the Trade. RJ at 3 for Ginebra, matic na maiisip mo after that trade. @@NicoRocha
Dagdag pa LA's pending retirement. Scottie's injury. RJ tlga pick nila. Also... natawa ako sa comment na Cansino can run point? Hahaha lol
@@kimn.555Hi bro! I actually mentioned these things at the 2:30 mark and agreed that Gin doesn’t have a true point guard. Point ko lang with being surprised is that I think Gin’s lack of size is also something that needs to be addressed. Peace! ✌️
We just forgot that tim cone invented Johnny A. So, this is a reunion.
Evan and fran u in the same team HAHAA
Never thought this would happen hahahah
IMO, RJ perfectly fits the triangle. Just look at the 90's triangle. The focal point of offense is more on the perimeter players (Johnny A, Jolas, Cariaso, Duremdez, Hawkins). They only have one strong center (Poch Juinio) but was never the focal point on offense. He played more as utility big man. His scoring was just bonus. I think they will build around RJ, a triangle with a faster pace, quick passing and more perimeter and outside shooting. Occasional post plays since they dont have a really strong post presence unlike last conference where their offense most of the time came from the post. Just my thoughts though. 😂. Ill come back to this comment if CTC employs what i envisioned 😂😂
Solid comment brother! Thanks for listening and watching
Nonoy getting drafted ahead of Nelle is a head scratcher..
Same!
Baka Nonoy impressed really well at the combine while Nelle did not.

Pwd nmn sila kumuha ng big man, may mga trades pa n mangyayari lets wait and see, mid August p nmn ang PBA may trade pieces pa nmn Ginebra.
Agree bro!
🔥🔥🔥 Podcast kuya Nico! Am wondering if you would discuss with kuya Mario promising teams to watch before the season starts. Am excited for Converge, Phoenix & ROS this season, basically Independent teams haha.
Game gawa kami bro
sheesh
👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
The disparity between trades aren't that concerning even though the players that Ginebra traded (CStan & Pringle) are already in their twilight years. The only thing really that this trade became frustrating and hilarious is that the trade picks clearly makes no sense. Terrafirma is basically tanking for SMC teams. Btw, 🔥 podcast bro, I agree with You Nico and Mario on this one.
Ginebra fan speaking, After watching the draft, feel ko medyo lugi ata Gins dito sa trade, their draft class consists of 3 guards and 1 wing..... RJ Abbarientos obviously a great pickup but the rest should have been used to draft a 1-2 project bigs. We can't deny, Japeth and Isaac are very great bigs pero kung sila lang ang legit bigs mo then you didn't take chance on other bigs like Kuya Ben, Javillonar or Brandon Ramirez (these guys are passed, instead they picked a wing named Didat Hanapi) mukhang lugi Gins IMO, napamigay nila CStan who's arguably the most consistent player of Gins and Stan who's decent still but injuries put him on a slow decline. Sa Govs Cup, medyo di masyado mararamdaman pero pag Philippine Cup, baka lumabas na need for bigs unless they make a trade for a decent bigman.
Good take here!
solid mo talaga rico nocha
😂
Bad for the pba. Cant imagine how pba approved this. I beg to disagree. Even in the shortterm, gin wins. Pringle is wasted already.
Terrafirma really has to nail their 10th pick or else gg 😅
I think stephen holt is fair for me but the Isaac go told me everything that Terrafirma doesn't want to win a championship since. Parang lagi lang silang nag bbuild and binibigay den nila players nila na may potential. I think Joshua Munzon also came from Terrafirma and CJ. Tapos nasa SMC na
Yun nga eh. Hopefully maging super competitive sila with C-Stan
@@NicoRocha hopefully, two veterans na may chip. Maybe in the future with thosw two role model for the next players of Terrafirma mas lalong lumakas team nila.
What do you guys think about this trade? Let me know in the comments
After the draft, after seeing their picks, mukhang lugi kami hehe. Japeth and Isaac lang ang legit bigs then didn't take chance on drafting a big puro shooter lang kinuha nila, which I'm happy since that's more spacing but the lack of bigmen will eventually cost them.....
@@bugslyf2692 I swear kung di nangyari ang Adamos trade medyo talo parin kami since Japeth and Isaac lang legit bigmen namin, at least si Ben Adamos, break in case of emergency in case Japeth and Isaac are Injured.
