Compared with the 2005 version, this is a professional programming job. While this version will eventually get you to turn off the commentary from repetition, it is far less annoying than its predecessor. The gameplay works well and the pros play like pros. Not only that, the players ARE distinctive and not just a different face using the same engine logic for each. I get that it is difficult to simulate the style of individual pros, because naturally their methods are known only unto themselves. But at least this game attempts to make their tendencies realistic and varied even if it doesn't really fit a true style. So it is a massive upgrade from the 2005 Activision. No, wait, upgrade doesn't do it justice - it is a complete reboot as if 2005 never was.
