Scott’s Garage is a place for DIYers. I love my full-time job, but it doesn’t allow me to get my hands dirty. Scott’s Garage does.
Some of my projects are home improvement related. Most of my projects are automobile related. I work on my daily drivers. I work on project cars some of which are classics. I will share my brainstorming, product reviews, tool reviews, troubleshooting, lessons learned, and progress made. I hope you enjoy Scott’s Garage.
By the way, I am not a professional mechanic or home improvement guy. None of what I say should be viewed as professional advice. Work on cars and home projects at your own risk.

Perfect solution I have the same saw
I was afraid you had to lower the sub-frame by just looking a the parts to be removed and sure enough! Manual says to also separate the exhaust flange at the flex pipe but that seems excessive since it only needs to come down about 2 inches to clear those rear arm through bolts.
I have the exact same filter on my 2012 mkz, I work at a concrete plant so the dust is terrible. I know have 120k miles on the car and filter. It is hesitating on acceleration from a red light and even worse on taking off on an incline. The dealer sais the forever filter is misleading and should be changed at 100k or sooner in dirty conditions. The video i followed ahowes to take the left wheel off and inner fender but I still can not get the filter out? It looks like I need to remove the bumper and lower cover to remove it? It runs great but has a slow acceleration at a dead stop then will take off like a rocket? All the traits of a bad air filter. Im hoping to run an iphone camera inside the filter and see if I can get a shot of the filter itself. Any ideas? Thanks Nick
Will this work on flagstones?
I finally killed mine after 10 years and just bought a new one. I’ve sprayed house paint, rustoleum, automotive paints, marine urethane paints with this. Lots of marine paint and rustoleum, actually. Been a great gun.
I bit the bullet and drilled it out. I want to spray some Evercoat Feather Fill G2 on my old truck and the recommendation includes 2mm tips.
Yep😂😂
42 is ok
If you are reading this, save yourself the headache. Do not buy a Ford. Coolant intrusion confirmed by dealer diagnosis. 63k kilometers, 2018 For Escape falls under the generic criteria of 21N12 but the VIN is not tied to the program. .Neither Ford Canada, nor the 3 dealers I talked could tell me why the car is excluded from the CSP. Same generic garbage, no real answers.
Nothing wrong with osb.You need to keep it dry and no problem.
Won’t mold go in the wall from moisture? I was told to drywall or use peg board for the walls to allow air flow.
What type of radio did you put in your Sierra
how much sir
Did you use 1/2 odb on the garage ceiling ?
5/8
@@ScottsGarage17 thanks
I thought all the old cars had draft tubes.
Just found your channel as I'm laying out my plans for my garage "makeover". Almost remodel at this point lol I just watched your original video for these shelves, and someone said they were a garage door serviceman and advised you to leave at least 1ft from the garage so they can access it. You responded and said you'd keep that in mind if you did it again. I remember thinking, yea like he's going to do it again or even remember that comment if he does... And here we are on Shelves 2.0 and you not only remembered, you followed through. For some reason, that's just so cool to me lol
Nice Boeing shirt. I hate caulking…. Thanks for the motivation…. Back to my ladder to start taping.
Is that 1/2"
...so the needle still seals closed after the drill-out? no need to change the needle?...good! will it still spray reg. paint well enough? thanks, good info
Great product, highly recommend it. My patio is beautiful thanks to you!
Oil retention pockets
Some one should give you a Laurel.... and Hardy handshake for coming up with that idea.
3.0 idea… with unistrut trolley to ceiling, ‘layer’ 2 or more shelf units, mount each to trolley so each unit can roll left or right allowing access to the unit(s) layered behind. Depths of each determined by what is stored on. 🤷🏻♀️
Thanks for the information! How long do you drive it for? When I go about 35-40min she starts overheating. Do you have the radiator part number, and/or the dimensions by any chance?
Great content!!!!
Bro show u doing it
7 x 7 bolted to concrete foundation. Southern Idaho thunderstorms and winter snow storms. No issues in 3 years. Door closure issue mentioned in another reply are due to a problem with foundation level.
thanx needed this
Don't buy one of these!!! Trust me!
I can’t find the air filter cover replacement anywhere.
I modified my Husky HVLP gun. The needle is about 3.5mm, so opening up the tip to 2mm is OK. I too had thought about how the needle would seat as drilling stainless can leave a poor edge. I used some fine valve lapping paste and put the needle in my drill. Just a gentle pressure polished the tip & needle to each other and I could see a good seat pattern. Reassembled & tested good.
Great idea 👍👍
Cool idea, thanks! We call that stuff 'kachelpoets' in Dutch, which roughly translates to 'stove polish'.
very beautiful cross and I really appreciate the written notice at the top.
Scott, great series on shelving. I have a finished room over my garage and I do not have access to the rafters. I have 11' tall ceilings. I am planning on building shelves that are 7' long by 6' tall. How would you recommend attaching to the ceiling?
If you are using 3/8” threaded rod, I would drill appropriate 3/8 holes in 2x4’s and then counter sink a washer and nut for each one along with thread lock. Then attach the 2x4’s with the threaded rods hanging down through the drywall and rafters above using lag bolts. You want the 2x4’s perpendicular to the rafters. This is what I would do. Keep in mind that I am just a DIYer and not an engineer.
Very nice! Photo or plans?
Dirty cabin air filter same as a house air filter The dirty it is the no air flow there will be available so what happens?? The evap coil starts freezing up (the lower the pressure the lower the temp) ice starts forming a compressor can only shoot out liquid and get it back in vapor form not iced up refrigerant
Good job
Thank you for taking the time to carefully explain your patio transformation. I found your video very helpful and inspiring!!! May God Bless you !!!
Seems like a Great camera I do like to have one though not super high on the list this decently seems like one I'd want and price is ok as well.😍
Thamk you!😊
Junk. Want a vehicle that's reliable beyond belief? Buy a Toyota 4Runner.
😮
right side light looks quite a bit higher IMHO. i'd drop that right side down a bit...just up 'a smidge' on the right side is ok though!
This is true I have a ford fusion I just got the air filter change and my air is blowing out soooo goood now! Change your air filters people
This (same exact problem) just happened to our 2.0L at 85K miles. I bought the extended warranty when I purchased and juts got my car back home with a brand new motor, $100(ish) deductible. Still not happy it happened at all but I smell a class action lawsuit coming. I feel bad for folks that are living with this problem without realizing there is a problem, and adding on the miles.
Lots of bitching and whining for the must part. Lol
Forever is how long it took me to locate it and determine it 'must be permanent, non-replaceable'.
Just got ours thank you very much we have a brick base so was thinking how to properly anchor it have not even started assembly cause it seems impossible task 😎 Thanks for video
Do you think Ttracks could be used as well?
