    I just returned from Zambia - South Luangwa and Lower Zambezi camps and sightings amazing. A leopard sighting that blew my mind: mother and son in a tree (no leaves, just branches) fighting over a bushbuck kill. Later, I got a beautiful photo in the evening golden hour of the leopard son hanging over a tree branch. Everything I saw was incredible. Loved it all.

    Hi Andrew. Great video. How did you get clearance? I was told I could not use a drone, even though I am a commercial drone pilot in Australia. Am going to Antarctica in November, Falklands and South Georgia, and had hopes to include drone footage.

  • @AndrewMacdonaldPhotography
    @AndrewMacdonaldPhotography19 күн бұрын

    Hi there. From my side the drone has to be registered well in advance with IAATO. With Antarctica it might also depend on the nationality of the tourism organisation you’re traveling with.

  • @RaymondToms
    @RaymondToms19 күн бұрын

    Thanks for the information Andrew. I have looked through the IAATO regulations and I see nothing insurmountable beyond my normal flight logs and safety procedures. I have flown in freezing conditions before and am aware of the effect on batteries. Have no plans to go near wildlife. The ship, zodiacs and icebergs, being the main flight subjects. What sort of flotation device and which drone did you use? I have and Inspire 2 and Mavic 3 Pro. I would take the Mavic for portability. Using an Australian tour company Chimu, sailing on the Ocean Endeavour.

  • @AndrewMacdonaldPhotography

    @@RaymondToms hi Raymond. Be never flown the drone over the coast in Antarctica. The trips I do are into the interior of the continent. We do go to Atka Bay for the emperor penguins but drones are not permitted there. I’d say you should get in touch with the tour company and see if they have any previous guests who have flown there before?

    If I'd go to safari, I'd definitely take option with low angle, like this one. I see there are countless offers of safari, but just few of them I found with this possibility. Great photos, great trip.

    Thanks so much. I am not sure of the exact name, nobody referred to it by name. When you come in the gate from Laroo La Tau camp the waterhole is in the first section where you can drive down at "river" level. Maybe 20-30 min from the gate. Thanks
