  Wales is a principality, and has its own flag, which is why it isn't represented on the Union flag, even though it is part of the United Kingdom.

  I wish the Freddie and The Dreamers film had been more of an extreme slapstick version of A Hard Days Night. I believe that would have been a better vehicle for their talents.

  I started sleuthing around to figure out how this Engilsh skiffle group may have ended up in a 1958 Soviet film! Turns out that American folk singer Peggy Seeger was one of 160 Americans invited to Russia for the 1957 World Festival of Youth and Students, an ongoing event which happened to be hosted that year in Moscow. Below is an interesting article about Peggy's time as an unofficial American delegate. I'm thinking that perhaps this Skiffle group were English delegates there in Moscow, and that's how they ended up performing in this Soviet film! Wow! (Perhaps others can confirm this?) Skiffle was birthed in a bohemian, jazzy, lefty kind of atmosphere, when beatnicky English jazz players played "Skiffle" sets during breaks in their traditional jazz performances. This group looks like they may be a Soho, London socialist leaning group of young folks. Also, the simple folky style of their music would perhaps be just the ticket to allow them to get by the censors and be included in a Soviet film.
