It’s a difficult decision….you train youngsters but do you race them ? Or as some fanciers do let them grow on and just educate but there are so many things to affect them now, hate losing them

So that reason we bred and race them from a youngsters… Certainly there a lot of hate due to maybe losing youngsters. You’ve watched many videos the effects it has on us, but we also have to weigh the factors human error to pigeon error! Personally we will never understand them fully as pigeons learn us something new every year 😂 thanks for watching pal

12.14 in to the video, over Magheralin approx 10 - 10-15am that pigeon was in a batch 200 plus as i watched them go back and forth mate. i took mine in in case they got dragged away.

Good video Stephen, as you said busy time for the hawks, it's good you got them all, some fanciers will be missing a few. Good to see the tracker image, something thing has to stop them going from A to B but been happening for years now, is it weather or hawks? Hope you keep up the good work filming, good luck to yourselves and indeed all fanciers for good returns, results can come 2nd all you can ask for is decent racing to give them a fighting chance to race home.🤞

We pigeon men are also having trouble with young birds, exactly the same. 😮 now what can we learn ? I personally think it’s been the weather here in the uk we’ve had 1 clear day not overcast or cloudy for 2 or more weeks. We need to learn. Keep that gps ring on the youngsters that made a meal of the toss and see if he/ she learns anything from previous training . Interested to see.

Another very honest video mate. We are certainly fed up with the yb's this year, as are lots of fanciers in our area. It's getting tougher every year and I unfortunately can't see it improving. We look forward to seeing how the rest of your season pans out, I know you will be trying your hardest.

Yeah it certainly isn’t any easier, the people in them our breeding more to keep up the numbers to what being lost with fellas picking them in and so forth. But if we didn’t have this Andrew what’s are alternative… walks along the sea front, football, golf, nothing on them touch the frills of breeding rearing and train in your pigeons to come home! ❤️❤️ Just gotta keep moving ✊ thanks for watching 💪

years ago when I was racing there was and still are people thinking there is something in the atmosphere interfering with the homing instinct of the Birds I think I still have Bilco;s book where he says about solar flares I never really believed it ,but with the gps rings does look like something is amiss and it seems all the birds are affected, I could feel your pain Steven and can only wish for better weeks ahead for you my friend

Yeah mervyn I think pigeons have a multitude of things to contend with. I never looked too much into the solar flares or Chen trails or anything like that which in turn leaves us questioning our sanity 😂😂😂 onwards and upwards hopefully 🤞🤞thanks for watching pal 👏🤝

Never seen you look so nervous on raceday stephen, that bad toss had you on Edge big time, you look like someone whos piles where at them lol. Get the second race into them and you will relax after them, im sure you no alot of fanciers skip the first race as it can be a bit mad in many ways, lads trowing birds in not enough training so not fit and want the flock to drag them home and that can lead to them going all directions 😔 . How many did you lads drop stephen??, and do you have a second team to introduce for the second half of the season of say third rounders, so you can start to put away some first and second rounders who have shown you enough to earn a perch for next years old bird season, or do you just have the one big team and race them out to pretty much the last race pal?

After that toss, I thought what are we in for in terms of racing! Just look at pigeons chat groups boys getting empty!! Ridiculous des! But we can only try our best to get the pigeons right for the race! We are lucky as we sent 50 and got 50 pal so was more delighted at the overall outcome mate. No mate we just start and finish with one team theres first rounders/second/third and fourths 😂😂😂 so hopefully we get the settle after race 3 mate

@ssbrownracingpigeons37 well you can't complain about that so stephen 50/50, the first race and some times the second race where allways strange and sometimes a clocking match, and lads that had never won a race or had not won a race In Years woyld win it, its over now so onwards and upwards after Saturday. Here in Dublin the weather has being strange as fcuk, scattered showers daily, you could drive 5 miles away and its sunny and the roads are soaking, and where you left seen no rain all day, but in saying that the visibility is generally very good can see the dublin mountains clear as day light daily, bad enough loosing them racing,but tobe loosing them training would be very painful, snd if it got to bad you would have to consider putting them away for yearlings. Beat of luck for the weekend especially with the gang you held back from the first race, and as allways enjoy

Good honest videos and just amazed with the gps tracking , always had a wee idea in my head as in chip the pigeons like they do with cats and dogs but it would be more like a tracking device and you could locate them through a app lol just me over thinking lol hope you had good returns though.

Hi Steven Greetings from Canada I had bands on 2 old birds the entire race season in 2018 Fascinating to see the tracks, every week was a story into itself I put the 5 dummy rings on 2 months behind season started and left them on the 2 birds that seemed to get used to them the best.

Biggest problem for me is you have to home the bird first before you can see which route it took. Surely there’s a ETs ring in the production that you can follow the bird home on your computer

Seen these rings a few years ago aome guy in america using them training, after time his birds started to take a more direct line home from his training spot except for the last part near home where they had to either go over a mountain or around it, in the end they only went over it with a tail wind saving time, otherwise they went around, wether you would use 1 or not are you boys allowed to use them during racing?*. I would love to see there line of flight from say skibereen in a south wind , and then in a west wind pushing them out to the coast. But the strange ting is ive seen the northern Ireland pigeons go over my house hedge hopping in a north wind and also seen them up half a mile like dots in a tail wind, so why all so often do they fly across dublin instead of going up land more often as the crow flys, well if you lads are allowed and you choose to use them, we will all learn an awful lot stephen. Yeah, they are certainly interesting… tbh pigeons will always have questions to them. The one that got hit at that race line the next day the pigeons seem to avoid that area. Probably very similar in racing not using a line where they have been attacked god only knows des. Tbh I think it would hamper a pigeon with them rings on at a race point, my view really is they find them uncomfortable so don’t know if it would suitable. Mind you I’d love to see the path for sure mate! Thanks des my nerves are shot already! 🙃🙃

@ssbrownracingpigeons37 may be continue with the fake ring all week during training and lift flying and in the loft with a chosen handful, but take it off basket day, and maybe 7 races down the line change it to the GPS ring and try 1 race with it and see how it goes, surly by then they would be well use to it, and should not hamper there flight home, just to see what way they flew home. Sure they have to go, if there well trained now, which I'm sure they are, bar a smash race they be grand, and the chances of that is very small. Weather in Dublin for Saturday is rain upto 80% at times, so you lads might go Friday, but Sunday is a lovely day sunny 18° and a south west wind, you lads be down as far as Navan??, did you're Da ever tell you that you only have a loan of them, you dont actually own them until the day you lock them in the stock loft pal??😁

hi gary thanks mate appreciate that! we went with the 11mm rings, the dummy ring clip on dead on, but with the live rings you have to push the life ring into the slot so it fits on securely. They are a great job but will leave you wondering why pigeons pick certain lines lol My advice is to sent them a email mate about your interest, they help me out. great company in that regards. well done on a great season and best of luck with the young ones mate 🤞🤞👍👍

Hi Steven, I have always thought that pigeon fanciers have always been left behind with technology, I always through that in this day and age a micro chip could be incorporated in the life ring so that which ever ets system you used could read it but the I guess the ets company's wouldn't get the income from ets rings , but I agree with you on these rings they seem too bulky but it is interesting to see the different lines they take who knows what they contend with

honestly andrew if you asked me at the start of the season getting them flying and into the system, i would have laughed at you and said, it will take a few weeks! certainly blew my expectations of them! we aim to create a team that race and race well and they certainly done just that mate. so i cant fault the pigeons..... i just hope my memories ok to remember what i did 🤣🤣🤣 Youngsters...... well there a story of there own! 🤣🤣🤣like have 90 kids in there terrible twos stage of life!!!!! i may sign myself in by race one! It’s a difficult decision….you train youngsters but do you race them ? Or as some fanciers do let them grow on and just educate but there are so many things to affect them now, hate losing them
@@hedleycrick7373 tbh dad has many years at this game hedley never once in his pigeon career keep a youngster back for to do anything special. So that reason we bred and race them from a youngsters… Certainly there a lot of hate due to maybe losing youngsters. You’ve watched many videos the effects it has on us, but we also have to weigh the factors human error to pigeon error! Personally we will never understand them fully as pigeons learn us something new every year 😂 thanks for watching pal
12.14 in to the video, over Magheralin approx 10 - 10-15am that pigeon was in a batch 200 plus as i watched them go back and forth mate. i took mine in in case they got dragged away.
Have to watch with the sound turned off, that whistle hurts my ears.

Good video Stephen, as you said busy time for the hawks, it's good you got them all, some fanciers will be missing a few. Good to see the tracker image, something thing has to stop them going from A to B but been happening for years now, is it weather or hawks? Hope you keep up the good work filming, good luck to yourselves and indeed all fanciers for good returns, results can come 2nd all you can ask for is decent racing to give them a fighting chance to race home.🤞

We pigeon men are also having trouble with young birds, exactly the same. 😮 now what can we learn ? I personally think it’s been the weather here in the uk we’ve had 1 clear day not overcast or cloudy for 2 or more weeks. We need to learn. Keep that gps ring on the youngsters that made a meal of the toss and see if he/ she learns anything from previous training . Interested to see.

Another very honest video mate. We are certainly fed up with the yb's this year, as are lots of fanciers in our area. It's getting tougher every year and I unfortunately can't see it improving. We look forward to seeing how the rest of your season pans out, I know you will be trying your hardest.
Yeah it certainly isn’t any easier, the people in them our breeding more to keep up the numbers to what being lost with fellas picking them in and so forth. But if we didn’t have this Andrew what’s are alternative… walks along the sea front, football, golf, nothing on them touch the frills of breeding rearing and train in your pigeons to come home! ❤️❤️ Just gotta keep moving ✊ thanks for watching 💪
years ago when I was racing there was and still are people thinking there is something in the atmosphere interfering with the homing instinct of the Birds I think I still have Bilco;s book where he says about solar flares I never really believed it ,but with the gps rings does look like something is amiss and it seems all the birds are affected, I could feel your pain Steven and can only wish for better weeks ahead for you my friend
Yeah mervyn I think pigeons have a multitude of things to contend with. I never looked too much into the solar flares or Chen trails or anything like that which in turn leaves us questioning our sanity 😂😂😂 onwards and upwards hopefully 🤞🤞thanks for watching pal 👏🤝
Never seen you look so nervous on raceday stephen, that bad toss had you on Edge big time, you look like someone whos piles where at them lol. Get the second race into them and you will relax after them, im sure you no alot of fanciers skip the first race as it can be a bit mad in many ways, lads trowing birds in not enough training so not fit and want the flock to drag them home and that can lead to them going all directions 😔 . How many did you lads drop stephen??, and do you have a second team to introduce for the second half of the season of say third rounders, so you can start to put away some first and second rounders who have shown you enough to earn a perch for next years old bird season, or do you just have the one big team and race them out to pretty much the last race pal?
After that toss, I thought what are we in for in terms of racing! Just look at pigeons chat groups boys getting empty!! Ridiculous des! But we can only try our best to get the pigeons right for the race! We are lucky as we sent 50 and got 50 pal so was more delighted at the overall outcome mate. No mate we just start and finish with one team theres first rounders/second/third and fourths 😂😂😂 so hopefully we get the settle after race 3 mate
@ssbrownracingpigeons37 well you can't complain about that so stephen 50/50, the first race and some times the second race where allways strange and sometimes a clocking match, and lads that had never won a race or had not won a race In Years woyld win it, its over now so onwards and upwards after Saturday. Here in Dublin the weather has being strange as fcuk, scattered showers daily, you could drive 5 miles away and its sunny and the roads are soaking, and where you left seen no rain all day, but in saying that the visibility is generally very good can see the dublin mountains clear as day light daily, bad enough loosing them racing,but tobe loosing them training would be very painful, snd if it got to bad you would have to consider putting them away for yearlings. Good honest videos and just amazed with the gps tracking , always had a wee idea in my head as in chip the pigeons like they do with cats and dogs but it would be more like a tracking device and you could locate them through a app lol just me over thinking lol hope you had good returns though.

Hi Steven Greetings from Canada I had bands on 2 old birds the entire race season in 2018 Fascinating to see the tracks, every week was a story into itself I put the 5 dummy rings on 2 months behind season started and left them on the 2 birds that seemed to get used to them the best.

Biggest problem for me is you have to home the bird first before you can see which route it took. Surely there’s a ETs ring in the production that you can follow the bird home on your computer

Clocked a few section f winners over there in mid nineties.
Seen these rings a few years ago aome guy in america using them training, after time his birds started to take a more direct line home from his training spot except for the last part near home where they had to either go over a mountain or around it, in the end they only went over it with a tail wind saving time, otherwise they went around, wether you would use 1 or not are you boys allowed to use them during racing?*. I would love to see there line of flight from say skibereen in a south wind , and then in a west wind pushing them out to the coast. But the strange ting is ive seen the northern Ireland pigeons go over my house hedge hopping in a north wind and also seen them up half a mile like dots in a tail wind, so why all so often do they fly across dublin instead of going up land more often as the crow flys, well if you lads are allowed and you choose to use them, we will all learn an awful lot stephen. Yeah, they are certainly interesting… tbh pigeons will always have questions to them. The one that got hit at that race line the next day the pigeons seem to avoid that area. Probably very similar in racing not using a line where they have been attacked god only knows des. Tbh I think it would hamper a pigeon with them rings on at a race point, my view really is they find them uncomfortable so don’t know if it would suitable. @ssbrownracingpigeons37 may be continue with the fake ring all week during training and lift flying and in the loft with a chosen handful, but take it off basket day, and maybe 7 races down the line change it to the GPS ring and try 1 race with it and see how it goes, surly by then they would be well use to it, and should not hamper there flight home, just to see what way they flew home. Sure they have to go, if there well trained now, which I'm sure they are, bar a smash race they be grand, and the chances of that is very small. Weather in Dublin for Saturday is rain upto 80% at times, so you lads might go Friday, but Sunday is a lovely day sunny 18° and a south west wind, you lads be down as far as Navan??, did you're Da ever tell you that you only have a loan of them, you dont actually own them until the day you lock them in the stock loft pal??😁

hi gary thanks mate appreciate that! we went with the 11mm rings, the dummy ring clip on dead on, but with the live rings you have to push the life ring into the slot so it fits on securely. They are a great job but will leave you wondering why pigeons pick certain lines lol My advice is to sent them a email mate about your interest, they help me out. great company in that regards. well done on a great season and best of luck with the young ones mate 🤞🤞👍👍

Lol.. that's a good idea mate nice one, but I don't expect anything for nothing 😉 That's one thing I've set out to do when I got the bug again in 2022 and started wirh them 12 summer late breds I wanted to keep them motivated each week and try to be consistent, club and open in the results like yourselves 💪 💪 Keep up the great videos wirh the young bird season... always enjoy watching them, really well put togther 👍 👌 at the best bud

they are bulky still mate, dont think the pigeons enjoy them on there legs, we the dummies on a few days just in the lofts, then put the live one on as we basket them. like anything with pigeons at the min just need some luck pal 🙈🙈🤞
Hi Steven, I have always thought that pigeon fanciers have always been left behind with technology, I always through that in this day and age a micro chip could be incorporated in the life ring so that which ever ets system you used could read it but the I guess the ets company's wouldn't get the income from ets rings , but I agree with you on these rings they seem too bulky but it is interesting to see the different lines they take who knows what they contend with

honestly andrew if you asked me at the start of the season getting them flying and into the system, i would have laughed at you and said, it will take a few weeks! certainly blew my expectations of them! we aim to create a team that race and race well and they certainly done just that mate. so i cant fault the pigeons..... i just hope my memories ok to remember what i did 🤣🤣🤣 Youngsters...... well there a story of there own! 🤣🤣🤣like have 90 kids in there terrible twos stage of life!!!!! i may sign myself in by race one! Just got mine through the terrible two's....a few days on half rations and 5 mile trainers have sharpened them up no end ....sometimes we need to be cruel to be kind 😉
