    Gotta love The Old Town! What I didn’t love are the bar barkers hustling tourists to eat and drink. I do know what a restaurant and a bar does and I’m literate enough to read a posted menu. It would be interesting to know how effective this is to snag a customer. That out of my system, it’s not hard to find very good restaurants in Old Town; the food is good, prices are fair and, once inside, the service is usually excellent.

  • @Walking_Portugal
    @Walking_PortugalАй бұрын

    That's their job. It works for some, not for others. It is worth noting that if you refuse them, they accept it adequately and do not interfere anymore :)

  • @UncleWally3
    @UncleWally3Ай бұрын

    @@Walking_Portugal I agree the barkers are mostly polite and don’t bother you once you refuse, but the next one is two feet away and the game continues. Bottom line is, I can’t find anyone who enjoys being solicited in this way, and isn’t enjoyment the purpose of dining out? And again, the restaurant food and service is usually very good.

    We are looking to stay there mid September very near the beach. Your video makes it look very peaceful! Did you find the bars and restaurants crowded or noisy late at night? I see some are open until 4am and I'm a bit concerned about the noise if we rent a place nearby.

  • @Walking_Portugal
    @Walking_PortugalАй бұрын

    August is the peak of night activity. Carvoeiro is not known for its long nightlife. In September it will be much less crowded due to the start of school and the Portuguese working weekdays. So don't worry about it. You will have a wonderful holiday.

  • @Walking_Portugal
    @Walking_Portugal2 ай бұрын

    This month is also a holiday month for the Portuguese, as many companies go on holiday in this month. It will be very crowded, but you can find beaches where there will be few people, but it is towards the town of Salema and the nearby ones. These are considered wild beaches starting from the town of Lagos.

  • @Walking_Portugal
    @Walking_Portugal2 ай бұрын

    If you come to the popular beaches, then either early in the morning. or already closer to 5-6 hours when the main mass goes to restaurants and bars. the sun shines until 9 o'clock approximately and is not so hot as from 12 to 16.

  • @Walking_Portugal

    the season when the minimum number of people is from December to March. In March there are already tourists, but not many. The peak is in August, when besides the tourists, the Portuguese are on holiday, as all the companies are on holiday. The street market is not always open, mainly from June to September.
