It's funny how my 4 favorite songs on this are all next to each other. I Wear My Sunglasses at Night, Ghostbusters, Twilight Zone, and "Blind the Wind". I wonder if we'll ever find who made the song or if we'll ever find a higher quality version.

Why does depeche mode have a sample of like the wind? At the start it says "like like" and it sounds a lot like the lost song. Prob not the first to notice but might as well say it.

Does anyone still have the tracklists of Darius' tapes that Lydia uploaded on discord back in 2020? I know most of those tapes weren't digitized, but I'm still really curious about the tracklists

I know the main focus here is the unkown song but anyone else notice what an awesome mix tape Darius made as a whole? It has become a regular playlist when working and recorded on tape for listening when at home lol

Yep, this ad terrified me as a 6 to 10 year old kid too. I remember it on my tapes of Home Alone and Harry Potter before the films started. Also, it was unskippable on an animated Mr Bean DVD from what I remember. But as an adult, I find it extremely melodramatic and hilarious to watch, it's far from terrifying. 🤣

I find it very strange that 'Like the Wind' does not really seem to fit into this lineup. The other songs are very synth-heavy with a more positive attitude and often experimental while TMS is melancholic and more conservative in instrumentation. It also seems to go with a more traditional rhythm and pacing. The production quality is not bad but not top notch. It falls a bit flat compared to the other songs in this sampler. Strangely enough, this makes the song stand out more and captures my emotion with its monotone and melancholic singer. A nice time capsule.

Pre echo is usually caused by tape itself. When two layers of tape are touching each other on a reel and magnetise each other.
I know this Mixtape was uplouded like 3 years ago but I thought Ghostbusters song come Out in 1984

Marvellous! I'm considering getting a Bell and Howell 642, which I guess is a similar manual-threader. Out of genuine interest, do you have any tips on how to avoid manual projectors chewing up, eating (and presumably digesting!) films when they're being projected
@HazelTheHare7 ай бұрын
The main thing I encountered was dirt and improper threading. To check the threading, the inching dial is your best friend. I'd also suggest going online and downloading a copy of the original manual so you can be sure to get everything right.

It's odd that a British music hall comedian would reference American football in the lyrics. In the original version, sung by Stanley Holloway, the guardsmen think she might be footballer Alex James and they ask if Arsenal is going to win. Here, they think it's Doc Blanchard, winner of the 1945 Heisman Trophy, and ask if Army is going to win. In an early version done by Smith, they think it's Red Grange and ask if Army is going to win.

Lyrics: (Opening solo) Like the wind, you came here runnin’ Change the consequence of leavin’ There’s no space There’s no tomorrow There’s no sense for munication (Chorus) Check it in, check it out. the sun will never shine Better know anyway, in the subways of your mind Like the wind You’re going somewhere Let a smile be your companion There’s no place And there’s no sorrow Here are the young and restless dreamin’ (Chorus) Check it in, check it out. The sun will never shine Better know anyway, in the subways of your mind (Opening solo repeated) (Chorus) Check it in, check it out. The sun will never shine Better know anyway, in the subways of your mind (Fading out from here) Check it in, check it out. In the summer blues Let it in, let in out. It’s the real excuse. ©️2024 BlueDiskette lyrics
This settles the pitch debate for good. All the other tracks are at the right pitch so TMS is unlikely to be the odd one out.
awesome ! and at the correct soeed too !!
