Spencer-Millan Art

Hello!
I love to paint! .... and to share what I know!
Although I have knowledge in many mediums of paint, alcohol inks are my current go to. Something drastic would have to happen for me to stop using these beautiful bright dancing inks!
Become a part of the community. Ask me questions or share your knowledge in the alcohol inks or with art in general! I'd love to hear from you!

I have new videos every Friday, if there's something you'd like to see a video on, please let me know in the comments on any of my videos. I look forward to hearing from you.

Enjoy!

    I love the mdf premade boards as well. I wouldn't doubt that kelpie isn't some kind of modge podge with acrylic additive to be honest. lol, I believe that company is making bank on a product when there are other cheap coating alternatives, such as dang spray paint for all surfaces, including plastic.

    Thanks for the video. Try slowly moving the alcohol with a toothpick before placing your paper/yupo on the surface and use tweezers or meat tongs to get it out again - it’s easier to get the workout of the water. 🥰

    Ever try PC fans or EDF. To slow drying have you considered a room humidifier. Turn on 3 hours before hand. keep door closed of course.

    What is the tool you’re using to move around the ink please? I’ve tried so many tools & can’t quite find the right one for my needs. I’ve tried hair dryer, bulb rocket blower, straws, etc. I would love to know what this item is, because it looks like it’s exactly what I’ve been searching for. Thank you!

    Where did you get that long straw?

  • @spencer-millanart3253
    @spencer-millanart32532 жыл бұрын

    Its just two straws stuck together! I dont recommend using a straw anymore.... to blow through anyway. For two reason... because of the funes but also because you get water vapour droplets on your work.

    Want to try this . You told me to get Frisk yupo paper but does it matter what weight of the paper 85 or 155. gsm. I would like to sketch and then alcohol on top. Thank you for all your tips. I have been binge watching your videos since finding you.

  • @sandyshinno4050

    Love your painting. Can you do this on tile. I am a newbie in alcohol ink. My medium is pastel , love the the alcohol ink translucent look but yupo is expensive to practice on. Thank you for your tips.

  • @spencer-millanart3253
    @spencer-millanart32532 жыл бұрын

    Hi Sandy, thanks for your comment. You can do it on tile but it is a little more tricky because I find the inks move even more on tile than yupo. I've bought thin yupo from amazon in large sheet pads and cut them up. Its then not quite as expensive. I realise it can seem expensive but I think the same for inks that get "washed" off tile to try again. At least if you try on yupo you can always go back to it at a later date when you've practiced a bit more. The ink will always reactivate with alcohol... until sealed. Anyway! Just my thoughts on it. 😊 Main objective is to have fun!

    Hi. when you use the isopropyl alcohole it is safe to use to dry with the dryer with the warm air?

  • @spencer-millanart3253
    @spencer-millanart32533 жыл бұрын

    Hi, I know always use a mask to protect me from the fumes of the isopropyl alcohol. So with a mask it is safe, otherwise I would say no. Hope that helps!
