My name is Whitty and welcome to my inline skating channel.
I'm a somewhat late developer to the amazing world of inline skating, but I'm loving it.....and better late than never, right?!
I hope my content will encourage people of all ages and ability to 'get their skates on' and enjoy the roll
Update September 2022: Life has become very busy over the last year so I am no longer uploading new videos. I'm still skating and still love it and I will continue to keep all my old videos on KZread as I hope they can still help people. Thanks. Whitty.

when you transition to backwards do you put your weight on the front wheels? Because thats the only way i could archive the change of direction today. I tried to follow your instructions, but when i do one foot after the other, its getting very bumpy. Just using the front wheel as a pivot point did it, but i dont know, if i have a good foot position for the stopping then..🤔 I'll have to try next time more
so inspiring watching your rides :)
i suggest you should come to Berlin, this city is full of challenges 😅
You should wear a shirt with "i'm just a regular guy who loves skating", this often u use this phrase 😅 Would also be a nice shirt 😊
Wow, i didnt knew, you could exchange the frame... is this for special skates? Or does this work for normal Inline Skates?
so well explained. thank you!!!
That final shot of the power slide was enough to get me to put my skates back on! Thanks for the tutorial
Thanks for watching
Amazing explanation, thank you so much! 😊
Thank you
same. it's been a month since I saw my family. I don't know where I am.
Thank you for this deep explanation of how to stop videos. I have a better understanding of what to do to practice.
Wow that high jump was impressive....❤ How many times per week on average did you skate during this progression? Btw. well done. I do mainly fitnes skating, not doing anybtricks, even though i have started years ago, so i want to improve. Thx
Everything is right but you forgot the hockey stop hockey is basically basic power stop but you have more strength in it
Much thanks man! Made my life a lot easier. Very straight forward and direct with what you were saying
Thanks for explaining this really easy, I recently did this with my aggressive skates USD aeons, worked a treat.
Ha! funny. I watched your skate molding with hot gun video because I bought a pair of Imperial jade 4x80 in 42 cause there was no 43. I decided to risk it and indeed the skates were quite narrow for my foot. Definitely not the right size. What I did was to use your technique and expand the toe box. I really had to go to town with them if I wanted to keep them so I did the molding around 8 times until there was enough room. Part of the fact I did it so many times is that I didn't want to make the plastic shiny so I always went carefully. Now I just love those skates. With red laces and red LED wheels they simply look stunning. The Imperial boot/cuff is super stiff (you can tell is plastic and fiberglass), I really love it, definitely one of my fav setups.
Hi, just come across your video, I know it’s 4 years ago, did you have to mould the top cuff too? I have a damaged ankle and need to mould my boot but need to know if I need to mould the cuff too. I look forward to pain free skating again :) I do hope you’re able to respond. Many thanks in advance.
No I didn't need to mould the cuff. I just did the boot. 👍
@@whittyskater thank you very much and thank you for the video.
Hi, do you know (or someone ), which Speed i can reach when i Will be "intermediate" ? I Ve to skate 7 Miles/12km to back home, After work. I.m 38 with a sportiv past until 25 years old... Just an idea please
Can bearings be cleaned? I have a new set but got some water/dirt in around the bearings that have slowed them a bunch.
Normally yes. Just search youtube for a 'how to' video
Skating specifics aside, this is an absurdly well made tutorial. I wish every youtube guide was like this, thank you!
Thank you
Thank you
Love the videos. Will you still be doing anymore in the future?
“Learn to balance on one skate” okay first I need to learn this hahaha
Shame i cant do an ice hockey stop on concrete
Thank you so much!
Thank you so much!
Powerslide for beginners 😂
Thanks for the guide. Really helps
Hello bro, im a begginer and i buyed 2 months ago Twister XT…now i want to upgrade them and i dont know what is better: Endless 90/110 ES or Endless 100/110 RB! I have 42 the size of foot and im into urban/fitness! Thank You…
Thank you! that was a review I was looking for, someone who actually knows how to describe it nicely!
Glad it was helpful!
I live in Cheltenham, am a similar age to you and about to pick up some outdoor inlines. (I play inline hockey in glos). Hit me up if you want to roll together sometime.
Track stop and power slide probably will faster torn out wheels
Used to skate in the 90s and recently I wanted to get a bit fitter again so tried the gym but soon got bored as I just didn’t have any passion for it, so I’m 43 now and just bought some blades ( much to the amusement of my wife and kids) I instantly remembered how to skate and it brought loads of memories of my childhood back, not to mention how good an exercise it is, never too late to get back into
Awesome!
Best tutorial on stopping I’ve seen on KZread . Well done .Cheers 😎🥃
Thank you
I'm currently using some K2 inline skates which I'm looking to upgrade. I find there's not much support and have been thinking about a FR1 boot with 5 x80 frames to add some more stability as I'm still learning. I like a free flowing style skate at a relaxed pace. Have you tried riding any 5 frame set ups? 👍 Great channel by the way!
Great channel, but have you considered getting insta360?
Would FR1 310 be good fit for a beginner or would you still recommend to go with FR1 80? Thanks
thank you
tysm
Please upload again someday! x
Roller skate in shop sees + wanna buy roller skate + addict in roller skate = F- IN SCHOOL
I’m brushing up on safety before I buy myself some new skates. I haven’t done this since I was a teenager and I’m excited to get back into it.
Hey, great video! My bearings have been in the same wheels for years, and I am now really struggling to pop them out... I'm starting to think they've somewhat rusted in place, I'm not sure. Do you have any advice?
Thank you for the tutorial video
Someone here like forever? 😂❤
I’m using PS Imperial 80s btw because I was told not to start out with a soft boot due to issues with ankle support….
Any recommendations aside from just simple practice if you transition from quads and find in-line extremely heavy… trying to learn and maneuver seems a bit more time consuming due to weight of skates. Feels like I’m carrying around boulders!! Lol. Is that normal and just a matter of building leg muscles( slim with scrawny legs…)?
All these moves seem for more intermediate skaters. Coming from quads it’s frustrating to get a nice flow going but not being able to just stop immediately without damaging my skates😢seems like you can hurt your back trying to drag a skate behind as a beginner
Dies it work if I got almost four 90 mm skates on? Turning around I mean :P
Very unique. Use a circle. Objects can be seen clearly.
What will happen if i don't use spacer between the bearings? Is spacer must used?
I'm 32 got myself blades im okay with indoor flat even service.....went outside im terrified of falling and keep jumping out of my skin I really frustrat myself that I slap myself I can't stand it im a nervous reck!!! Any tips??
Yes. Find an outdoor environment to start with that has a measure of control about it. For example an empty tennis court. Basically, somewhere that is preferably closed off so no people, cars dogs etc will get in your way. Here you can practice and not worry too much about external forces. Then start skating from the tennis court and skate about 50 metres away from it (preferably along a pavement). Then turn around and go back to the tennis court and skate some more in your 'safe' environment. Then leave the tennis court again and this time go 100 metres and turn around. Rinse and repeat. This will help build confidence slowly and you know you are never too far from your safe environment.
