Great video. At 5 min 20 seconds GVM was explained with the van unhitched. You must include the ball weight as part of the GVM. I must have missed the axel weights. The must have 7 to 10% of the trailer weight on the ball is technically not correct. This is a guide and is dependant on many factors. Trucks often have no weight on the A frame. Another example is with extended draw bars and short draw bars.

Be careful with Kerb weight. Does not always include the driver. For example, I'm evaluating a Ford Everest 2023 and specs for Kerb weight explicitly say that it does not include occupants. Only includes a full tank of fuel and no occupants or cargo. Bummer really since there goes 90 kg just to get the thing moving! Cheers

Since when did Kerb weight include a driver? Not one source from any vehicle manufacturer can I find, that the Kerb mass includes a driver. There are so many vague definitions of Curb/Kerb mass that it is ridiculous. It is not a reliable starting point, tare is the only starting point we have that is reliable and consistent, it includes 10L of fuel. Prove me wrong.

WDS shifts the load from the tow ball and distributes the weight on the rear car axels to the front wheels and trailer. They should be banned. WDS must be removed when on unsealed roads or negotiating driveways etc. also WDS laces stresses on the chassis of the car and the draw bar. WDS does not imply yaw (sway) prevention. Sway retention is a function of weight distribution including van, tow vehicle. Best to put some scales under the front wheels and compare unhitched and hitched. The purpose of WDS is to transfer weight to the front wheels so you can get proper steering.

Just one minute the circuit in a house for said power outlet be that 10 amp or 15amp is installed with wire that is rated above the capacity of the circuit breaker. So, just illegally as you put it, putting a modified 15amp three pin plug with the earth pin filed down to fit a 10 amp GPO will have zero bearing on the fire hazard. On that point your house certificate of compliance covers the house not what you plug into it. You are legally even if if stupidly allowed to plug what ever you want to a GPO in your house.
