    That's awesome! I've traveled quite a bit, and I have to say, Riga, Latvia, and Lisbon, Portugal are two of my favorite cities. Riga has a unique charm with its beautiful architecture and vibrant culture. It's great to hear someone else from California considering Latvia as a new home-it's truly a hidden gem!

    If you are looking for a massive party fest, than Ljubljana is probably not the place to go. If you are here for the nature, good food, wine, a lot of history etc than Slovenia is a must go. BTW Ljubljana is the green capital of Europe. So yeah if nature is not your thing avoid it. I recommend visiting: Piran, and Salt fields of Secovlje, Soča valley for rafting, kayaking, nature walks and seeing our pride and joy Soca river the emerald queen. Bohinj lake which is in my opinion better than Bled, Postojna or Skocjanske Jame cave which are the most beautiful caves in the world, Prekmurje Region for the best food and spas. UNESCO town of Idrija where quicksilver mine is. There are about 500 castles in Slovenia. If you are a fan you can visit: Castle Snežnik, Predjama Castle (a castle in the cave i shit you not)... every town has a castle. Celje Castle is OK but far from the prettiest. It does have cool summer festivals in it though. In any case Roger left 90% of the cool stuff about the country out. Maybe he was too bummed out about partying in Ljubljana he just didn't bother anymore. And Roger. In the Summer if you want to go party go to Island of Pag Croatia to Zrće Beach, there is where all of they young Slovenians will be anyway. I think that will be more your vibe.

    The route shown in the video is one of the most popular in Tallinn and possibly Estonia. If you plan on visiting, you'll likely spend significant time in the areas featured in the video. For those who have visited Tallinn before, how would you compare it to other Baltic cities such as Riga (Latvia) and Vilnius (Lithuania)? Do you have a favorite among them?

    Sorry to interept but l am living here in Ljubjana from 2 months and my honest opinion about people is that they are very submissive and don’t have a welcoming nature for outsiders or foreigners. Every time we go out in the city people make us feel aliens. My suggestion to Slovene please open up and let outsiders feel like home in your country. And this kind of attitude will impact tourist from outside Europe. Biggest barrier in communication. Not even in a mall also they have English brochure or menu.

  • @TheMotivatedRambler
    @TheMotivatedRambler Жыл бұрын

    Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. And I’m sorry to hear that that has been your experience. I’m sure travelers will have different experiences when visiting certain countries. Thankfully, the Slovenian people I interacted with were kind and helpful. But there have been other countries I’ve visited where that wasn’t the case. When I lived in Latvia for 6-months, people would look at me a certain way often, so I do understand what you are saying. Ultimately, when I visit a new country/culture, I do my best to engage with locals, make friends, and have a good time. Unfortunately, sometimes people don’t want that, and that’s ok. It’s their loss. I just stay positive and keep enjoying my surroundings as best as I can. I don’t know if that perspective helps you, but I do hope that your interactions in Slovenia improve.

    Let me tell you where is problem and I'm not talking about you at all but in general answer on your statement. We Slovenes, where ever we go we adapt very fast with culture and LANGUAGE. On the other hand, surprise surprise foreigners don't wanna learn and they wanna chat in English, Italian, German, Bosnian or Serbian for years and years. You must understand that we been terrorized from all the neighboring countries trough history and only 2 million people kept this language for more then 500 years. So at the end every person chooses freely where wanna go living and learn before you go. I speak 4 languages but at home I choose Slovenian and let's say English if I wanna. Knowledge is everything. Sorry if it sounds harsh but the way it is. But you can belive we are kind and welcoming, just very proud of what we have. For now safe and clean country, which is changing and not to good side!
