Floyd had an excellent European tour in 80, notching up several impressive wins, but for the first time in 2 years Stanley was beaten by the Olympic Champion in Germany, he went on to beat Wells twice afterwards, but the Germany defeat puts a question on whether he would’ve won in the Olympics or not, very similar to Don Pages experiences with Coe and Ovett. Shame we’ll never know.
It's shame about the U.S boycott at 1980 Olympics. Stanley would've been a champion and a Star. Great Footage!
Awesome archives
THANK YOU, I remember watching this live when I was younger and finally found it thanks to you!!!
He ran a 3.91 40.
@ASH27 Slick Actually the time was a bit slower, the timer ended when his head touched the tape, it's when the upper torso touches the tape, so time was most likey, 4.11, still great.
