Great video! Concise and to the point. At 2:06 in the video, an easier solution for bottom panel removal is to slide the unit over the edge of a table. There are four slots along the bottom. Insert a flat blade screwdriver into each slot and you will hear a "click" and that releases the clips for that section. Once you hear four "clicks", the bottom is easily removed, and you don't risk breaking anything. I recently discovered this as I took my unit apart for the water pump replacement and a thorough deep cleaning. Also be sure to use distilled water and it should help with any excess scale build-up.

2020 Forester sport here... The ac line is dangerously close to the wiring harness bracket on the driver side. Also, probably don't have to unplug the ECU at all if you can just move the harness enough. Furthermore, the driver rear ignition coil required undoing the harness clip with a flat head and DO NOT lose this clip, and then pulled out the coil towards the front and up of the engine bay. Your extensions are going be slightly too short and just too long to really inconvenience you as much as possible 😂. Good luck if you are taking on the good ol boxer spark plugs on.

So the winch is wired directly to the battery. Because it comes with a wireless remote control, there’s no need for any other wiring. It also comes with a wired remote control, but that plugs in at the winch whenever you want to use it. As for the lights, I did everything the hard way first time around. Thank @@Lucrativesoldier, let me look for that video so I can make a decision real quick. Thanks for your reviews, you sort of address concerns of regular folk like myself! Keep it up man
@@PeterKoech001 you’re welcome! Yeah I get a lot of questions, and I’m like, honestly, the video can tell you more than I can remember.😂. Thanks!
Comparing your hood protector compared to a video I saw on an older model, the older model appeared to have a lip on the trailing edge that forces air upward which would probably offer more bug and stone deflection. Now I need to decide if I want to spend the $130. Funny thing, we are headed to Yellowstone also and beyond.
@@tomtribur458 yes, I’m sure that helps. For me, I can’t be certain it made any improvement. I haven’t had any windshield damage since my last windshield replacement, which I’ve had 2, but I think the windshield quality is better. My first replacement was thru the dealer. My second was thru Safelite, and doing the best. My opinion would be make the purchase for aesthetics, as I can’t assure it has added protection. Enjoy Yellowstone, it’s beautiful and can’t wait to go back.❤️👍🏾
Great video, thank you! Is there a reason you used vinyl tubing vs silicone, etc?
Thank you! No reason for the choice of tubing material other than being food safe and the right size.👍🏾. And I do like that is clearer than the original tubing.
We have had our for 4 years and never had any problems at all with it using the correct water and cleaning it by instructions is all you need.
Yeah I think it’s easy to neglect the process.😒. But if you make it to this point, you’ll realize how important it is to keep up the process.👍🏾
It took me like 5 years to ride it well
Thank you! Only video that actually helped!
While this video is very helpful for cleaning and dissembly, I didn't see anything on "- Identifying common issues causing the noise" and how to repair those. Did I miss it? There was a thorough cleaning. Again, very helpful video.
Thank you! For me, the thorough cleaning alleviated the noise issues.
Thanks brotha, will mention black plastic between the prongs on the fuse needs to be removed I used a razor blade
You’re welcome! I don’t think I had that issue, but it’s good to know for who does.👍🏾
Brilliant video, well put together. Much simpler than other guides that suggest disconnecting the strut etc. Any issues I ran into, just looked back through your video again and there were the answers. Very much appreciated and saved me $800!!!
Thanks, I appreciate it. I’m Always trying to help save a dollar. Glad I could help.👍🏾✌🏾
I just followed this recommendation and it makes the front fascia removal MUCH easier than the pry tool method demonstrated in the video. Can't recommend this route enough.
Thanks for the input and suggestions.👍🏾. 7000 miles til I have to go thru this misery again.😩😂
@@Lucrativesoldier My condolences, minus well get a new PCV valve/hose while you're at it though!
@@ralkros681 lol right. I actually had the PCV done when they did a recall. It won’t hurt to inspect and replace if needed though. Thanks!👍🏾
Nice job
Thanks!✌🏾
I'll be doing the rear in a few days. Thanks for the excellent video.
Thank you!✌🏾
Thanks!
You dont have to reset the epb ?
No reset necessary
I have an issue where after I clean and descale it. It says that’s it’s defrosting after 15 minutes of making ice. I’m gonna open the foam and try and clear out the auger. Question is did you zip tie back the styrofoam?
Not sure what would be causing that, but it would make since if it’s clogged up in there and it thinks it froze over. I did zip tie the styrofoam back, but only the the bottom. My zip ties were too short for the top, so I just left it undone.
Thanks!
Thanks! Always appreciated ❤
I'm surprised more campers and backpackers don't carry matches or a lighter first thing I was ever taught
I keep a lighter and waterproof matches in my gear. The problem here was a faulty o-ring, and now I keep spares in my gear. But I also learned that it was the large fuel canisters that was damaging the o-ring. No issues using the jetboil canisters.
Hi. Did you have to make any modifications to the shutter module for the front of the lower section of the radiator? It looked like the bumper and winch just mounted ahead of it.
No mods necessary.👍🏾
Just curious how you handled not resetting the electric parking brake.
There was no need to reset the parking brake.
Great video. Thanks for sharing this
I need to do this on my 2019 forester
Remember to be cautious with the new boots. At first I was so focused on getting it into position, that I wasn’t thinking about damaging the new boot. Luckily I thought about it before it was too late.👍🏾
@@Lucrativesoldier I’m not going to do it I’ll pay to get it done
@@BenBarros lol even better.👍🏾
I clean mine with vinegar every month. Push the vinegar soaked towel into the dispenser part and let it sit for up to 24 hours. Mine started squealing a few months ago, but I wasn't paying attention to it...end up year craziness. Then suddenly stopped producing ide and said "defrosting". Called GE and they said run it through with HOT vinegar 5 times. Did this, still NOT producing ice. GE "support" is worthless!!! $700 machine and 0 help! Could it be because that metal insert in the middle of the machine is gunked up? I am trying to find videos of how to fix this thing and yours is one of 3 that talked about "gunk" and "build up". I use filtered water because we have very hard water here. Any response and help would be very, very VERY appreciated!
Wow! I think customer service in general is going to crap.😒 There can definitely be some serious buildup in the center. You can do the whole process in this video, and pour descaling solution into there and let it sit overnight then flush it all out. You’ll see it start bubbling showing it’s doing its job. I had to do that to one that the build up was worse than mine in this video. You should be able to get it working again after going thru all of this.👍🏾
Thanks for the video. Only one I found that got straight to it without all the blah blah blah. Helped me to disassemble mine so I could replace the fan
Thanks! Glad I could help.👍🏾
Wondering how you wired up your winch. I will be doing this same exact install but want to make sure I'm doing it right. I eventually want to wire in some ditch lights and don't know if this all just hooks up to the battery or what?
So the winch is wired directly to the battery. Because it comes with a wireless remote control, there’s no need for any other wiring. It also comes with a wired remote control, but that plugs in at the winch whenever you want to use it. As for the lights, I did everything the hard way first time around. Now I’ve realized there’s a much easier and better way to do it, and that’s what I’m in the process of doing now. I’m installing this unit. amzn.to/3Vcerno
Definitely appreciate your video. You made changing the brake pads quite easy.
Glad I could help. Thanks for the support!👍🏾
Mine started squealing a few days after I got it and I use filtered water. Therefore it is not always buildup.
Did you find out what the problem is?
@@Lucrativesoldier nope - I think its just the way they are having read many many reports of the same.
@@evelyncrickettstrelecki934 interesting. Is it working ok now? Does it still squeal?
@@Lucrativesoldier squealing louder by the day - I warrantied it so taking it back but I don’t think a new one will be much better
@@evelyncrickettstrelecki934 wow! I would give a replacement a try. We have 2 and this was the only issue we’ve had with them.
Great video. My ice machine looks like that on the inside after about eight months of use. Question: why do you have the water tank on the right side of the machine? Wouldn't it be easier to mount the tank on the other side so it is closer to the sink?
Thanks.👍🏾 lol. Good question. Maybe I’ll switch it around, because honestly I think I put it on that side so it wasn’t visible, but it still is, and yes more difficult to access.😂. Thanks for pointing that out.👍🏾
I just ordered one a few minutes ago..BEFORE I found your video...now im scared. I have another "boiler" I love!!! But weeks ago it started acting like it's not getting fuel. Tried 4 seperate cans....won't even light with a bic....NO FUEL COMING FROM CAN TO POT
I think I have the problem figured out. Using the larger can of fuel, it kept ruining the o-ring. But I haven’t had any issues using Jetboil fuel cans. So you should be fine if you only use the small Jetboil fuel. Not sure if they have larger cans and if they work too.👍🏾
@Lucrativesoldier ok..I always use small cans. Thank you
@@tracker5849 ok good. Let me know how it works for you.👍🏾
You only change 2??
lol no all 4
