When searching for a new replacement for my old Toyota Yaris, I was browsing the whole market especially for something similar in size but way more powerful, combining supermarket and short distances 200km to 350km...for longer trips using my RAV4. The prices on some of the options from Mercedes and Mini were ridiculous, around more than 70k Euro/75k$...the price for a full option Clubman....or a Merc A 250...unfortunately Mini are famous for their unreliability and so is Mercedes in the past years...to pay this money and then to stress myself that I would have service the car regularly would have been stupid of me....ended up buying a Yaris Cross for 40k....in 13y of owning a Toyota I have never taken one in service except for oil and filter change...Yes no blink blink no bells and whistles but no BS either...I have all the safety packages just as my 7y old RAV4 4x4 the only difference is HUD and HOLD on the newer...the rest is the same...driving assistant..lane assist...BSM...adaptive cruise control...alerts when I am tired, sound and visual and vibration in the wheel..heated seats...etc etc etc plus 5 NCAP stars on both cars....I don't fly so I drive a lot from Scotland to Romania and from Germany to Spain and Italy...I don't need blink blink I need reliability for that....but still 70k to 90k or more for a small car that you will use mostly for short commutes and Supermarket ...and service.... is just stupid....and seeing this video I know why....if these European powerhouse don't wake up from their dream of making ridiculous expensive vehicles for just a small percentage of the market, they will soon fail....the competition is crazy good these days and prices on some models are just right so this greedy frenzy will be their doom... and I don't want that as this will mean disaster for EU's economy...
