They could’ve ended it right there and then and married one another. Seeing HOTD now. This thing doesn’t bother me anymore.

It’s not the way they ended it that hurt so much. It’s how insanely rushed it was. It’s that season 7 should’ve been 10 episodes. It’s that 8 should’ve been 2 separate seasons at least. It’s that we needed a season for the Long Night, and a season to resolve the Game of Thrones itself. We went from Arya and the Hound taking a full season of rich character development in a brilliant and colorful world, to characters teleporting from end of the continent to end of the continent. It’s that the slow burn of Daenerys’s decent into madness was forced to condense into 3 episodes, despite having been perfectly executed for years. The lazy, ineffective showrunners were too ineffective to meet the quality the show was held to. They were too damn arrogant to admit they couldn’t do it and hand it off to people with the vision and patience to finish the show. It was the right ending. It was a rushed, sloppy way of executing it. The immense amount of wasted potential is the reason the ending is so physically painful.

Yeah, funny how they killed the narcissist Queen with totalitarian ambitions and then chose as their next king a sociopath who's a living all-knowing surveillance system. That's sure to end well.

bad writing, he should of dicked her down right there in that throne room in front of Drogon and became king of Westeros. Instead he chose to go back to castle black and be lord commander of nothing.

Her becoming the mad queen is a great idea, but it should have been slower and more morally ambiguous. The sudden shift from overly brutal to her enemies to completely psycho doesn’t feel natural.

It’s hard to watch this scene. Because somewhere she has lost her humanity and it was corrupted by ideals she hates, she fought against, broke chains from. But yet was her down fall.

Most of her family ended up mad. They gave some subtles hints here and there she wasn't well, but I really believe she would have killed a bunch of people anyway. They didn't love her enough.

Honestly I didn’t mind this arc as much as others did, but what I just couldn’t get behind was burning the whole city. It was totally moronic and unnecessary since she clearly would have been able to fly to the Red Keep and burn only it. Cersei did install commoners there as meat-shields, so innocents still would’ve died, but Dany’s actions would’ve made way more sense. A better way they could’ve played it is if Dany accidentally set off the underground wildfire casks while burning the castle, causing a chain reaction that led to the obliteration of the city and becoming traumatized by it.

"How do you know it'll be good?" "Because I know what is good." Despite the terrible, rushed writing of seasons 7 and 8, this line is the key that everyone missed for 8 seasons. Dany thought she knew what was good. She thought HER way was THE way. She thought that only SHE could be the savior, and that the Iron Throne was HER "birthright." Contrast this with Jon Snow. The reluctant leader, always. Humble. Stepped up because he was needed, not because it was his "birthright," despite the fact that he literally had THE birthright to the Iron Throne. He claims to not know what is good. He doesn't think he is the ONLY one who knows what is "good" or that he's a savior or that it should only be his way. People loved Dany's "boss B", "slave-freeing" persona so much because they just salivate over a "strong female hero." So much so that they were blind all along to Dany's arrogance, hypocrisy, and violence, and that she was the exact same as the wheel she claimed she was breaking. Again, the writing was awful and rushed but the very end was, I think, where we were always headed. There's a sort of poetic beauty in Jon Snow, the reluctant, humble leader that was needed the whole time and that ironically SHOULD have been king the whole time, finally does actually break the wheel by killing Daenerys. And then he finally gets the freedom he's always wanted by being "banished" beyond the wall. You see it in his smirk at the very end as he looks back at the wall. He's always had to be a leader but he's just wanted freedom from responsibility. And he gets it in the end, while ironically breaking the wheel Dany claimed to want to break.

Ultimately it wasn't even her fault that this happened. It was terrible advisors giving her god awful advice towards the end. She was having a seriously shitty day at this point and let her anger bleed out. Jon should've positioned himself as her partner and king and at least attempted to reproduce to continue their line before deciding if she had fully snapped or not.

I really wish that John (or Aegon) and her would have hooked up, been King and Queen and have a Baby! See if it was just a bad day for her and let things play out..... she might have passed away in child birth? Or something could have been done about her down the line... BUT, I guess it was about saving as many people as John could... John should have been King! He was not only the rightful heir but, hands down the best choice for King! All Hail King Aemon! 5th of his name! Protector of the realms!

Jon gave her EVERY chance to stop this, but she wouldn't budge and went too far. I don't give a crap what the weirdo Dany stans say. Saying Jon was the real villan and crap. When they should have been outraged how Dany's whole character was BUTCHERED in the span of a couple episodes. Dany deserved her fate, but I know she should have gotten a much better one.
