If your goal is to become a Robotics Software Engineer, focus on building a strong programming foundation by learning python and C++ first and then just go straight to building projects. Then you can add more skills such as ROS and use it in your projects.

Great video! These reasons apply generally to most types of jobs, and all students should get listen to this before they go down a career path that they will regret later. You should always pursue something because you ENJOY it, first and foremost. If you do something for the wrong reasons, you can make a million dollars a year and still be miserable every second of it.

Hey Chandandeep, I have almost the similar profile as you. Currently I am also working as a mechanical design engineer for about two years now and I also have had an exposure to a lot of industrial robotics and automation. Only the problem in my profile is that I had a gap of about one year after graduation in which I was preparing for tough competitive exams like GATE, ESE, BARC. How should I address this gap in the SOP? Please guide me regarding this.
@LearnRoboticsAndAIАй бұрын
Hi, I understand your concern. The best way would be to not explicitly talk about the "gap" at all and simply focus on the projects/ activities/ courses or anything additional that you did that might be related to robotics/ AI fields in some way in your SOP. The gap will not be much of a problem if there is a good storyline. Additionally, you study the same engineering subjects when preparing for GATE, ESE, etc. and this is something that can be sold as the time you spent "further mastering the fundamentals" that gives you a strong engineering foundation.

@@LearnRoboticsAndAI Hey Thank You for the Advice. I had one more concern. I had participated in some events and a hackathon in college where I had implemented my design skills, and in Smart India Hackathon, I had designed a Robotic Arm for our team. Only problem is I don't have a certificate to prove it. So Should I address this in the SOP even if I don't have it's proof on paper?
