  I didn’t in the beginning. I just use to rent it out as is to clients..but now I do most of the time because it helps my setups look different for my portfolio when I can customize the color. However if you do this I would recommend charging clients a small fee or else you have to carry a lot of multiples of the panels…which is actually good to do so you don’t always have to fully paint (just touch up), but you should charge the fee to customize or incorporate into your overall price. Because it will cost you a small sum to change it out every time but I think it’s worth it for the final look. 😊

  Just realizing the music cuts in too early and you can’t hear the rest of what I was saying around 1:20! 🤦🏽‍♀️ I say I bought the plates on Amazon which is what we used to pull from for the rest of the decor for the theme. Also, that once the plans are finalized then it’s time to execute! Then we show the behind the scenes of bringing it to life the day-of!! Thanks for watching! 🙏🏽🥰 Also the arch is not out work. Client booked this with another vendor prior to finding us, so that’s why balloon work/colors isn’t cohesive.

  Hi, I generally charge it as a rental, but I include the price it took for supplies and a portion of the time to make it since I can use it again 😊 Supplies are cheap it’s just time consuming!

  Actually they were, but they were slowly leaking out by the end of our setup time even with the bottoms secured. So we either accidentally pierced a small hole when inflating or they were already defective from Amazon from the start. We chose to use them anyway because it’s really not that noticeable especially to clients and it was a very slow leak so it could last the length of the party. Thanks for watching! 😊

  How much should your deposit be? Is that just based on what they are requesting and how many people will be there and how do you usually charge them? I’m trying to get into event planning so I’m trying to make sure I don’t over or uncharge people.❤

  Not really, unless they bring their own items that are being rented to client. It can also depend on if it’s at home or a venue, and whether you have event staff to handle that and what all they clean up. If it were a small home party you may help clean up as far as breaking down but you would still want to include that in your quote.. Light breaking down planners may take part in or hire out for, but full on cleaning up no unless you rented out items and taking those away. We’re more responsible for the oversight of breakdown especially at a venue if you have to be out by a certain time. However lots of small planners also rent out their inventory so it kind of crosses over sometimes. 😊

  I think some people are not cut out to be event planners because they just are unable to plan things ahead and they take things one day at a time (related to the second one) or they are not very detail-oriented. More long-term planning is difficult for me but I'm working on it. It's best to work backwards from the event and decide when different things need to be done so that everything is done on time, and allow yourself extra time in case things go wrong.

  I have seen people do this on TikTok. I don’t personally do it but if there was a super quick and easy way then I might give it a try. We usually just encourage the clients to keep or pop them in a big bag or trash can because our setups are generally always outdoors and we rarely have a setup close enough to reuse the same color clusters. I think the people who do it just cut off the knot but I’m not entirely sure. Lol

  All of these are rare in my area (small town)…but I’m wanting to bring more here when it comes to nice decorations for events. The only decorator in my town only focus on tables and small decor. I’ve been binge watching a lot of party decor and balloon decorations lately. I love doing the balloon garlands and decorating for my family parties already.   Thinking about starting my own party rental business. Do back drops have to be repainted every time a new client asks for a specific color? Or os it best to have a few of different colors ?

  Congrats on starting your biz Lola! 🎉 In the beginning if you don’t have much money to invest in inventory then I would say just repaint the ones you have for each event or offer one neutral color option (a lot of people will do a tan/beige option). You should charge a custom paint fee though if you feel comfortable of at least $50 because of the time and supplies it takes every time. As you grow it’s nice if you can have a couple popular colors so you don’t have to paint every time just touch up here and there 💕
