It’s so weird seeing them playing this small venue because even then they had such a big and professional sound that just makes sense in a huge hall with crowd surfers and people singing along

I was at this show and I still can't believe I got to see Patton with Dillinger. I didn't get into the band until 2010 and I was far too young to experience the early days. And now, as of Sunday, I got to see them play a whole show with Dimitri, too... collected performances from all three vocalists like fuckin Infinity Stones.

I appreciate the bass player's energy, but she's bouncing around at the expense of her musical performance. Tons of ugly mistakes.

Looking at their show archives, seems like this could have been 1 of 5 shows: 6/28 - Brand New's first show w/Taking Back Sunday and ThisYearsModel 08/03 - w/ Stopwatch and Cableknit Cowboy 11/01 - w/ Stopwatch and Still Small Voice 11/26 - w/ On the Might of Princes, Explosivo, and Contra 12/23 - w/ The Reunion Show and Stopwatch Judging by the fact he mentions people having to wait outside that got there at 5:00, id say its likely not 11/26, which started at 2:00 PM Judging by the "oldie but a goodie" comment before My Nine Rides Shotgun (and the fact they have demos available) i'd say it being footage from the first ever show is a no go as well. Narrows it down to 3 shows, and funnily enough, a 100% chance they played with Stopwatch that night lol web.archive.org/web/20010218235647/www.brandnewrock.com:80/archived_shows.php

I was sitting on the stage, at this show, as 19-year-old kid, and it’s still to this day, one of my fondest memories, from growing up. Hearing Jonah from One Line Drawing perform Pollyanna on that same stage that night, was the icing on the cake. I feel very blessed, to have been around, for these intimate shows.

A shame this version never got a proper recording. For all the people asking year its somewhere between 1998-2000 and I want say 1999 based off the VERY end of Beck making jokes starting to play ‘Maria Maria’ by Santana which came out in the fall of 1999 and was a big hit. There are two recorded versions of this aside from this one I have heard but not like this. The fadeaway records comp remix version is cool but this blows it out there water.
