The cleaning machine is seen so often that I don't really mind if you skip it, maybe just bring it back sometimes, but it doesn't need to be always in the video at all

Did you have to use a special basket for the cleaning machine since the parts are so small? Great work as always!
@GermanWatchmakingChannel16 күн бұрын
The normal Elma baskets have a small enough grid to contain almost all watch parts. And the very small parts go into the litttle sub-baskets anyways, which walls are even more finely gridded. So there is no problem with those small movements at all.

Great job on getting the watch together with spare parts. Just like to know what type of grease you used on the keyless works?

It's the moebius 9501/10 synthetic grease. For me it has performed absolutely flawless so far.

I always marvel at the way the denture tablets seemingly remove the cracks in porcelain dials. That timepiece did come up quite nicely. Your classic Urema cleaning machine looked to be in nice condition too. I would just like to mention that WW2 was from the 1st of September 1939 to the 2nd of September 1945... which I've always found easy to remember because it was 6 years and 1 day long and the 1st of September is an easy date to remember because it was my father's birthday... in 1939!!! I hope you keep posting more of these interesting videos. I subscribed and clicked the bell for all notifications. Hint, hint. 😊

Nicely done, GWC. It's clear why Swiss made watches are so popular, they are tough and have great longevity.

Love watching you work and explain the process but the music is horrible and makes it difficult to focus solely on what you’re doing.

I like the aging of the lume, but would rather use brewed liquid coffee, than the powder. But the watch still looks beautiful!

I really appreciate your informative commentary and creative use of techniques accessible to a hobbyist! And you capture some operations that are very difficult to film. This watch was interesting - a split bi-metallic compensation balance in a wristwatch! With Nivarox hairsprings coming out in 1933 this must have been right on the transition to monometallic balances even for expensive watches. You triggered me to read about that: Thanks!

Soldering the caseback was an impressive solution. Being new to watchmaking I would never have thought of that. Also I've seen other watchmaker use liquid coffee but never coffee grounds. It made the lume interesting with the spots.
