    incredible series of videos. A shame it isn’t documented by Timex themselves. Your instructions are helping me get the most out of this amazing timepiece!

    Did you notice the day of the week is not displaying in the digital section. Yours has a squiggly line. It should display the two char for the day, such as SU, MO, TU, etc. Mine is exactly the same but was working correctly until recently. Do you have any idea of the cause and/or the fix? Thank you!

    i was wondering does the garmin instinct 2 have in it's moon phase widget the moon age like it does on this casio and most casio's that have moon/tide info? you might be surprised by the question but i have yet to find an answer

  • @WatchJumble
    @WatchJumbleКүн бұрын

    That is a good question. All of the Garmin's show moon phase, and give moon rise and moon set times (but not moon age). Casio (depends on the watch) but they usually give moon phase and moon age. . . but not moon rise and moon set times.

    @@WatchJumble thanks for the quick reply, i thought maybe when you actually go on the moon widget and check how the moon will look in the upcoming days, that the age shows up . oh well that's too bad, i guess i'll have to see if you can download other moon widgets or watch faces that have that info

    Well, through an eBay seller screwup, I’m getting the watch instead of a PRW6600. I think I will keep it. How do you like it?

  • @WatchJumble

    It appears a little big on my wrist since the bezel is pretty small, and the case size it large. . . took a little getting used to. But I really like it, one of my favorite Pro Treks I have ever had.

    Thanks for this video, really cool to see them both in action. Not that half a second really matters to me but, did you find a way to determine which one is more correct? Coincidentally I daily wear either an Instinct 2X or this same Mudman GW-9010, but in my case the Casio runs about a half a second ahead (which is in sync with my phone). Anyway, that's accurate enough for me for sure haha.

    I thought the Garmin is only solar assist whereas the Casio is tough solar. Is this true?

  • @WatchJumble
    @WatchJumbleКүн бұрын

    It depends. . . . both "technically" are supposed to run forever assuming you get enough light and depending on the features you use. If you turned off all the features of the Garmin (no cell phone connection, activity tracking, notifications, vibration, auto backlight, GPS, etc. it would go a long time with out needing the charge cord. . . maybe forever depending on the light it is getting). But you are right the with normal feature use on the Garmin you will have to pull out your charge cord at some point (mine about every 30 days) vs. the Casio that no charge cord can be used at all.

    @@WatchJumble Thank you for the reply. Good points. I guess with the Garmin, it’s all or nothing for me. I still have my original Instinct solar and although I don’t wear it all the time anymore, I still only have have to charge it once a week (maybe a day or two less three years later).

    Worked on a brand new GW-9500 after a few minutes. What made the trick for me was to left the phone laying still on a table, with the watch on top of the phone's screen.

    Why didn’t you go outside and try it again? Does the atomic time transmit continuously?

  • @WatchJumble
    @WatchJumble4 күн бұрын

    If you do a manual, no once it is unsuccessful it stops and returns to main time keeping mode. At midnight it will try every hour for 5 hours then wait until the next day if still unsuccessful.

    Curious as to what one would be considered more durable and long lasting use?

  • @WatchJumble
    @WatchJumble4 күн бұрын

    The Instinct has a lot more features. . . .but as far as longer lasting I would put my money on the Casio everyday of the week. The Garmin's battery eventually loses it's charge capacity (just like a cell phone, etc.) over the years. . . . the Casio will still be the same after 10-15 years easy.
