    How do these Diopters work on normal lenses?

  • @cinesagaltd
    @cinesagaltd3 ай бұрын

    Exactly the same as they do here! Think of a diopter like a single lens from a pair of reading glasses, that can be used on any lens.

    Hi, I used the calculator today and have a couple of questions: 1) What lens should I put in measurements for the “Lens’ Current Close Focus,” the anamorphic? Am I using the anamorphic's close focus or what I have set it at? Thanks. Love the calculator.

    Can the rubber donut at the back hold a polarizer filter, and can this be turned using the grips on the outside? Just wondering if I can use this as a 4th stage pola in addition to the three filters up front...

  • @orangerocketproductions
    @orangerocketproductions Жыл бұрын

    @@cinesagaltd Thank you, I appreciate your answer. I though that the 360 Rota Pola tray is in the "ONE" tray which takes up two spots of the 3... so using that still leaves me with only 3 spots... Trying to have lens filtration, Grad ND, regular ND, and CP in one matte box. Any suggestions on how to do this?

  • @cinesagaltd
    @cinesagaltd Жыл бұрын

    @@orangerocketproductions I’ve deleted my previous reply as I made a mistake. The rubber donut does indeed hold a Rota Pola. I thought you were talking about the rubber Black Hole. So yes three solid filters and a Rota Pola at the back is possible.

  • @orangerocketproductions
    @orangerocketproductions Жыл бұрын

    @@cinesagaltd Thank you so much for checking! Is the ROTA actually rotatable from the outside to be able to drop a CP and control from outside? Do you have one in hand you could post to show how it works? NOWHERE does anyone talk about how the 360 is actually expandable to a 4-stage box... It's a hidden feature. I'd also be really interested in how this would work with a 15MM full frame lens - do you have an idea what the widest lens would be that would work with donut and all 4 filters in front?

  • @cinesagaltd
    @cinesagaltd Жыл бұрын

    @@orangerocketproductions Heya. I believe you can turn it in the back by loosening the bit that holds it in place but I haven’t personally used it this way. Also can’t say what the widest would be but I doubt you could use 4 stages with a 15mm FF lens. If your local rental house or camera shop has one you can test I think that would make sense so you can get it in your hands and answer some of these questions. Hope you get to the bottom of it!

    @@cinesagaltd If I can't turn the CP in the donut it won't really work... thanks for confirming! I'll have to hunt for a local rental house that has it in... thanks again for your help!

    We received our Misfit Kick 3-Stage Matte Box 114mm Clamp-On Kit with other accessories to fit our Canon glass. It's absolutely amazing. So incredibly light and well-built. Bright Tangerine's customer service was outstanding, helping us pick what made sense to us and not upselling what we didn't need at the moment. We received it from the UK without issue and days faster than other local U.S. manufacturers. It's truly an amazing piece of hardware.

    Do you know if there’s a way I can use a +3 diopter with the misfit and the one tray? Even if it’s unorthodox, like putting the +3 alone in the one tray, then putting it at the front of the mattebox and adding the standard tray behind it?

  • @cinesagaltd
    @cinesagaltd2 жыл бұрын

    Good question! Sadly not as the mechanism that holds the diopter firmly in place would touch the glass. A +3 would have to go in a donut behind the matte box or some other solution!

  • @cinesagaltd

    @@cinesagaltd sorry I meant 4x5.65 Nd filter with diopter. Cuz I spoke to bright tangerine and they said I can’t use 4x5.65 ND with +2 & 3 diopters. So far they said +1 diopter may work & anything smaller will with their misfit pola+

  • @cinesagaltd
    @cinesagaltd3 жыл бұрын

    @@al_muftah94 Within the ONE tray in this video, you can use a diopter up to a +3/4, and also still use a 4x5.65 filter of any kind. Any diopter stronger like a +1 or +2 has to be used in the ONE tray on its own. I haven't covered the Pola + in this video and haven't tested that, so I'll default to them on that one! Cheers.
