I have a BKC pedal drive. The previous owner replaced the belt. Now when you pedal forward, kayak goes backwards. And when you pedal backwards it's propels forward. How do I fix that? What did they mix up? Thank you!
@garzaoutdoorsproductions29 күн бұрын
@@mg181 This error occurs when you pull the belt down to the lower unit and instead of twisted it clockwise they twisted it counterclockwise(or vice versa) and that’s what causes the petals to work in reverse. Repairing it is quite simple. 1- loosen the tension screw 2-Pull the prop off pull the three screws that hold the lower unit cover and then slowly remove the prop shaft. The easiest way to do this is to move the pedals back-and-forth (just the wiggle) as you pull the prop shaft out. 3- Have a screwdriver handy because you’ll need to insert the screwdriver to keep the belt from going up into the unit. Without moving the pedals, remove the screwdriver, and let the belt, relax. Observe which direction it turns. 4- Then very carefully twist the belt in the direction it was turning on its own. If you turn it in the wrong direction, the belt will get shorter. That’s not what you want to do so twisted in the other direction. 5- Now remove the screwdriver at the same time insert the prop shaft. Your target is the bearing in the back with the prop shaft. To achieve this move the pedals going back-and-forth. Remember, this is just a wiggle, not a complete rotation on the pedals. 6- Slowly insert the prop shaft until it reaches the bearing in the back. 7- Now replace the cover, the three screws, your prop pin/sheer pin, and propeller and you should be good to go. Good luck.

We really appreciate the tips you gave us and love your videos (they are invaluable). I have a question. You had mentioned you have a rod holder next to your seat on your kayaks, so there is less reaching to grab your rod. Our kayaks don’t have a geartrac there (they’re toward the front) but I’m thinking about buying a couple to screw in (yak attack brand). What length geartrac would you recommend? You might remember we had those 10 1/2 foot pescador pros.

Sorry, it took me a while to reply to you. I looked at my Rod holder installation, and it is even with the kayak seat, backrest. I have one on the left the one on the right. This way, it’s not going to interfere when I’m paddling. It also helps shorten the distance from the tip of the rod to my ability to reach it. If that makes any sense.

You know, I was debating on going there on my kayak, but I don’t have a permit to put in there until I renew.
@@garzaoutdoorsproductions just go to sandbass park that’s where I park
Oh man I meant please unsubsidize to the channel 😋😋..Hey it was great seeing you Buddy..Happy we bumped into each other 👍👍👍...Maybe I'll come back one day....My wife just subbed so you're getting closer to 500😮
What lake?

What's the best months to ...I love trout fishing but living in texas kinda of makes it hard I've been wanting to go down to canyon lake damn and fish just haven't had a chance...I caught the fever in Arkansas for trout fishing about 20 years ago. It's my favorite fish to catch and eat
I have only had the fever only since last year. My understanding is that broken Bow is the only one that has Trout year-round in Oklahoma. Here in Texas all you get is stocked trout and as you can see in the video, Possom Kingdom Dam and Blue River are stocked with some pretty big Trout. The other one that might have trout, but with restrictions is the Guadalupe river.
Those white perch have taken over Cheney lake, they are very invasive
Do you know if they just put at least one stocking of of stripers in that lake, they would gorge themselves on them little white perch.
I'm about to build a dedicated upper and I already have the CMMG bolt, so 5:30 is exactly what I needed to see. I can't believe how easy it is to switch out the original part for the barrel collar. Thanks!
The maintenance is even easier to clean out the old burned out 22 powder residue. A whole lot easier than a Ruger 1022 or a marlin.
@@garzaoutdoorsproductions Yeah my 10/22 is a pain even though I've always used good ammo in it.
Was checking it out the other day as a place to kayak fish..... trash trash and more trash...... people are just plain nasty there..... litter everywhere...... and I don't mean just a little..... it was just out of hand..... kind of sad. And alot of scummy people.... people sitting in the parking lot smoking dope..... just not my cup of tea for sure.
Agree rough place at times
Poseidon is supposed to have 25lbs of drag
I haven’t had a chance to really use the 25 pounds of drag on that real. The last bull red I hooked up on was with a real I bought at Academy “Torrent”
Hi Oscar which marina is that I want to take my father fishing tomorrow for his 70 birthday
That one is in Grapevine. But you can take him to most marinas that has an inlet because that seems to be the pattern right now. Look for the birds that’s how I found this school. My dad is 86. He can’t see and hear too good, but he knows how to fish. Remember, you only have about an hour and a half to two hours before dark. I tried going earlier than that, and they just don’t seem to be turned on.
@@garzaoutdoorsproductions thank we’re going to grapevine by sand bass park hopefully we get something
@@diggingwithcruzie1594 at Sand Bass points I’ve always gotten lucky two hours before dark. Watch for the birds they’ll come by when the fish are there. They’ll be somewhere between the island and the marina.
Hey, Gene! This is Chris Edwards and my son Matteo and I met you couple of weeks ago when we were launching our kayaks at Twin Coves for the first time.
Totally awesome! 🎣 Gotta love dad! 👍🏻
Sweet catch! 🎣
Great video Mr Garza I believe that’s on Scott’s marina
Is that the marina by Katie woods
No, that one was on the other side of Grapevine but I’m sure Katie Wood is producing the same results. I have one video from that area from last year and I’m about to plan a trip to that marina. It will definitely be in the kayak though. Katie Wood’s or Scott’s Landing would be better with the south wind.
It would be nice to if you show me the ropes
Maybe we should do a collaboration video. MIke.......PondHopper TV we fish ICT and surrounding areas
Sorry, somehow I missed your comment. But I’ve had a sad time with my mother, passing away and me getting sick. I hope to be back up in Wichita Kansas in about three weeks.
The yellow one looks cool
