  We have just experienced the same issue. Worked out that the hinges have a plastic arm in the middle which were broken and binding the hinges. These are merely for servicing purposes and not required for normal operation. Simply remove them. the rear of the cover should be pointed slightly upwards once it is in the lowered position to allow it to slot into the lock mechanisms. This is the last part to lower into position when fully closing the lid with the roof down.

  That wasn’t the issue with ours it was frayed cables in the mechanism that eventually snapped. They started fraying at less than 12 months old.

  It was nearly 3 days work under warranty, they had to replace the cables that run inside and fold the roof.

  You can replace the cables fairly easiky eith a rivet gun and a drill. If the olastics have broken can also be changed to a Chicago screw to hold in place

  It was fixed under warranty but it was a 3 day job so I’d expect it to be very expensive.

  It was under warranty and had to be repaired by Mercedes, the cables snapped inside the hood, they worked on it for 3 days!

  It’s just in the mechanism where the metal folding parts are you could see the black covering had frayed and the white was showing

  I have a 2009, and I don't believe this year has an Idle Air Control Arm. I believe that functionality is delegated to the Throttle Body.

  Funnily enough my brother had an X5 40d at the time, the 330d was quicker but not by much! The X5 is a fast car for its size.

  Ye se spec is available but then u get that floaty feeling, I got xdrive on my 4 series an it’s ok at slower speeds but once you get over 60 then xdrive becomes very apparent wich I’m not keen on, plus it’s low an pain for me getting in an out now feeling old ha

  @@Jesswoolliss the reason why your x drive 4 series feels like that is because M Sport suspension on the F30 generation cars was unavailable with X drive so you only got the SE suspension even if it was an M Sport. It’s the reason why I bought a 330d and not the 335d as the 335d only came in x drive so only had the soggy SE suspension. My 330d was S drive so bad the M Sport suspension making it a far better car.

  Used to have the 530d which used to do city driving. Never had DPF issue. Just need to take it on a long run every so often and will never miss a beat.

  Absolutely dumb question, so I do apologise - I've just got myself an LCI E70 40d with the Bixenons. For some unknown reason the washer jets won't spray for the headlights. I believe you have the engine on, dipped beam and just pull the stalk and let the main windscreen washer cycle for about 10 sweeps. The headlight washer should spray within that time period? Trying to figure out if I have a duff pump/jets on both my headlights.

  It’s been a while now but I believe they only work every few cycles of the windscreen jets if I remember correctly, so you’d have to wash the screen a few times and like on the 7th or something they operate.
