From 92-94 they released some of the best junglistic'ardcore there was. Classics like Darkness, Weekend, Dubplate Wars, 2 Dope ep, and artists like TDK whose TOG sublabel was a peak of amen choppage). Brain also put out the debut releases of Marc Caro (Technical Itch), Peshay and DJ Zinc (in the Swift and Zinc eps) and Slammin' Vinyl's Mike Slammer

What a wicked set for Randall RIP
Thank you Bizzy! I have Translator 6 on my MacPro 2013 with Sierra and never had a problem. I use it to convert sfz to AKAI format for my Z8. Love your channel! 👍

This looks quite handy for mac users as the OG sampler plugin for Akai sounding stretches doesn't work unless you own a PC.
Akaizer also works on my mac

Still got my old A1200 kicking about as well. Mine also needs a re-cap but still works perfectly. I have plans to give her a bit of a makeover eventually 😀

Condolences to all friends and family of Dj Randall, this man played a massive part in building the D n B Jungle scene and is another massive loss. Can't believe it has happened so soon, was only December last year we saw him at London E1. Farewell and salute to the - General: Dj Randall 🙏

Oh man I had this sampler. It was awesome 👌 👏 👍 Your tracks are great, takes me back !!! Love seeing you use the tracker. Never really thought about controlling the sampler with a tracker. It makes total sense though because the Amiga was basically a sampler/tracker combo. I'm sure you can pull a lot of tricks with the tracker that you wouldn't think of using a Cubase style sequencer program. Anyway awesome thanks for sharing this!!!
To sample from the soundcard outputs into the sampler do you use speaker or instrument cables?

Do you know "the gainer trick?" I can make a quick video explaining it. It often solves these issues regardless of what causes them, I encounter these "failed OFF notes" with an old version of Rob Papen Blue regularly.
So basically it's like an assignable "step-sequenced patterns"? Like a drum-machine patterns that are triggerable from keyboard?
So would I be able to just use the stereo inputs and outputs of the Akai and link it to let’s say 3/4 in/ out of my interface. Then would I be able to sample my own music from my DAW going into the interface and interface into the sampler and then after sampling, back to the interface and back in the DAW? I hope I am explaining myself correctly, help would be great :)

I still have mine but no hard drive. Anyone know what type of drive I should get nowadays ? The only computer output it has that I can see is the big SCSI one (24 pin?). Any tips would be gratefully appreciated

Bought one of these bad boys new, sold for peanuts in 2010. Still got my 6400 ultra.
You can do this in the MPC . Sample Layers .. Maybe not as good though, it wond blend in the same way I don't think...
Didn't know you were also an electronics tech mate? Got a lot of the same gear as me :) I have an S1000 which I restored

Hey man been watching your videos for inspo! I want to pick up on of these older samples but which one between the emu e5000 and akai s1000/11000/3000 would you recommend? I’d like to be able to sample directly in and do a lot of pitch and time stretching and chopping. Mostly for ambient dnb but I’ll probably use it for Lofi as well.
The emu has a more modern dnb sound, for old skool 1991 - 1995 s3000XL is more user friendly or s3200xl is fully loaded

Hey B, I think you can stream in landscape but you have to start the stream in that mode, it'll be stuck in the mode you set it for the full stream unless you stop it and start a new stream, doesn't let you switch during it. No big deal though, such a great set to watch either way! P.S. So great to hear a tune from dubplate warz out on road with you! FIYAAAAHH!🔥🔥
