@@firesatmidnight It's all good. My last comment got deleted, because I guess it's against the law to mention the price on here. Anyway, I went to my local Big Lots and checked them out (59). Also, at my Big Lots, they had the lady statue that goes with that one you bought. They were very cool together. I picked up the two 72" Skeletons carrying the coffin for my cemetery. I'll be going back and grabbing one or two of the wolves. I'm going to do the mod. Hope I don't ruin it.

Big Lot's had great stuff last year. I bought two purple/orange willow trees and found an animatronic scarecrow to stage in our yard. Wonder if my local store has anything yet? That skull tower w/the crow is cute! I'm going to guess that's what you went home with.

Ugh, so many of these I love lol, but I'll explain why I love Scream. Scream is actually a very important movie for me, because it was the very first horror movie I ever watched. For context, I was born in 94 and saw it at 8 years old lol. My mom let me watch it, and we watched it together, and we still talk about Scream to this day. We also watched Friends all the time, so so far, the reasons you dislike it, are the reasons I like it lol. But aside from that, I think it was so popular because there was no movie like Scream. Just a few years before Scream, slasher movies were dying, and franchises like A Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th were releasing their "final" films. Scream revitalized the slasher genre, but it's also not just a slasher, it's also a thriller, it's a who-dun-it mystery, it's satire, it's a drama, and it even has some comedic moments. It was also pretty unusual for a horror film because it had many A-list actors, where horror movies usually put lesser known named actors due to lower budget. And it led such an impact that there were many, many copycats and many horror movies afterwards that would mimic Scream's marketing such as I know what you did last summer, urban legend, Halloween H20, Bride of Chucky, and many others. On a side note, I'm glad I came across this video :) even though most of the movies you listed I love, I'm interested in your other opinions on horror and what you do like in horror. Great video <3

And, it really does depend at which point someone saw a certain movie or even heard certain music in their life that will create an effect or emotional attachment. Agree with you on Scream, never liked that movie. I tried to watch The Lighthouse but couldn't make it past the first few minutes. Interview w/ a Vampire I liked but didn't think that Brad Pitt was great in it, he didn't seem to fit well in that role. The AMC version is horrible.

I agree about The Lighthouse. If I remember the ending correctly, the Twilight guy climbs the Lighthouse stairs, looks at the light and it terrifies him. Then, we cut to him lying on the rocks below while the waves lap at his dead body. Was I supposed to be scared by this? This whole movie I watched this guy running around getting frightened but I myself was never scared. I guess this is some kind of allegory movie but I couldn't really get emotionally invested in it. I was pretty confused at why any of this was happening though.

I love your opinions, you had me completely entertained 😀Thoughts! Tom, Brad & Antonio are terrific actors. But they had no business portraying beloved characters of Anne Rice. Of course they were good - they *are* good, but the film needed ethereal unknowns to enhance the fantasy, not guys we’ve seen a hundred times. That’s BS Hollywood casting. (Ooh can you do a video of horror movies that did the books justice?!) Also, Scream: VERY 90s dated. But the fun was Jamie Kennedy explaining the horror movie formula while in a horror movie. That hadn't been done before, and it gave an otherwise forgettable teen horror a clever spin. Love your channel! - Kada 🖤🧡

Bunch of buildup and then nothing. For secret Satanist movies, I‘ll go with Spellbinder from the 80s. You get Kelly Preston and the guy from Wings finally gets what’s coming to him.

Things can't really be over hyped! At least not the way we think of it. The problem is that when people "hype" something, you assume they have the same perception of what you think a hyped movie should be, when in reality, even people who like the same movie, like it for different reasons. We all look for different things in movies, sometimes it's not that something is bad, we just have different expectations and that's ok.

I’m with you on every one you mentioned! Pearl and Mandy are fair at best (for me). The Lighthouse was one of the most painful movies for my wife and I to get through ever haha!
😂 Every time I think of that movie, I think of someone chewing Copenhagen and spitting in a spittoon. And, I don’t even remember if they were doing that. 😂
The lighthouse is a great one watch. I don't think I could sit through it again. I loved the ending.

Agree with you on those movies. Although, when you said I tried to watch it twice and couldn’t make it through, I thought you were going to say Hereditary. We actually did make it through once and we were like “Why does everyone like this?”

@@firesatmidnight Yeah, I normally like anything having to do with the Devil, Demons or the supernatural. It just felt like I was re-watching Rosemary’s Baby when I was a kid. Bunch of buildup and then nothing. For secret Satanist movies, I‘ll go with Spellbinder from the 80s. You get Kelly Preston and the guy from Wings finally gets what’s coming to him.

Things can't really be over hyped! At least not the way we think of it. The problem is that when people "hype" something, you assume they have the same perception of what you think a hyped movie should be, when in reality, even people who like the same movie, like it for different reasons. We all look for different things in movies, sometimes it's not that something is bad, we just have different expectations and that's ok.
