You captured all the eerie sounds of the ice as you first walked then carved it up with your skates. I had the great fortune to skate the completely frozen Lake Louise prior to the snows covering it for winter in the late 90s. I was a Eco-Tourism operator out of Banff and took some customers to the lake for an afternoon sightseeing trip. I always kept my skates in my tour van to pass the time away while the tourists walked around the lake. On this particular autumn day, the entire lake was smooth as silk and no snow cover at all. The winds coming off of Mt Victoria were a real test of my stamina as my thighs were screaming by the time I skated to the other end of the lake. The positive was I had a good tail wind skating back towards the Chateau. Thanks for the awesome memories. Your skate looked a little less taxing than mine!!! 😃

Thank you for your comment. The sounds really make it special, I think. It's fantastic to get the timing right, before the snow hides everything.... The wind can be a challange on bigger lakes :) Greetings, I'm happy I brought up good memories.
