Currently playing for Stony Stratford Cricket Club in Milton Keynes. Stony have 5 playing sides on a Saturday.
Saturday 1st team are in Division 1 and the 2nd team are in Division 3.
Sunday team are playing in the Bedford County Cricket League in Division 3.

Where is the rocket?
Ive seen a couple of cricket clips... But what is the point of the sport? Some dude throwing the ball like he has down syndrome and a dude batting past the 3 post thingies. Pls explain

Mate u should see some of the pitches in the mid birmingham leagues. Some teams have had to be removed because the pitches so bad
The opening bowler who thinks he is Jasprit Bumrah - he is throwing. That’s an awful bowling action and he’s a chucker.

Not a bad tactic to bowl over the wicket and round the wicket in the same spell. You look to have decent control of line so bowling a couple of balls over the wicket then going back round won’t affect your rhythm at all. A couple of balls bowled wide of the crease over the wicket will at least give the batsman another challenge.
I would agree with the suggested short mid wicket. I bowled primarily out swing but with maybe 2 or 3 yards more pace than you. Consequently, the in ducker would carry to the SMW with ease…..if it hadn’t hit the stumps or pads🙏🏻
Well bowled. I think you should consider mainly bowling over the wicket at this level. Umpires aren't going to give LBWs bowling from that angle round the wicket. Especially if you can swing it both ways like you mentioned, you would be far better off bowling over the wicket, batsmen can't fend the ball away with their pads from over the wicket.
Noted, a lot of people advising me to bowl over the wicket so I did in the next game. Will post that spell soon
Well bowled 👏🏻 As someone who bowled big in swing to a right handed batsman for a lot of years - consider a short mid wicket. Probably on that cut strip that we can see in the shot. You’ll be surprised any wickets you pick up from people trying to flick the ball with the swing, into the leg side. If it’s a decent fielder, they’ll also stop a lot of singles which will mount pressure to the batting team. Bring someone across from the off side to tempt them to hit against the swing 👍🏻
I was a right arm over swing bowler and in my early days i went around the wicket to reduce risk of the ball swinging wide down leg. In the end I recognised that i was much more effective bowling inswing over the wicket despite giving away a few more legside wides. You looked more difficult to play over the wicket. Just an opinion :)

Great game and good to see you in both runs and wickets. I really hate that style of 'banter' at the amateur level. Teaches our younger generation absolutely nothing about playing the game fairly :)

Chuckers on both teams. When are leagues going to have the guys and ban them from bowling...
Because you need techical evidence and umpire panels to start that sort of process - not sure there are enough staff to deal with all of this countries chuckers. It is definitely frustrating when so many 'fair' bowlers have to toil away without that extra zip of speed :)

Just shows you, you don't need all the scoring shots in the book. You played your game and waited for the bowler to straighten his line to score with your slog sweep effectively. Would say that partnership helped give you something to defend. Good win

I always thought it was a great challenge to play against current or ex professional cricketers. Yes, they would probably make the difference to a lot of lower league games. But if you are playing what I'd call decent level league games then you'd expect to play against an ex professional or current professional most matches. You just try to raise your own game. What's the point of winning matches against mediocre opposition. Surely it's better to win against good opposition!
