  One little word of advice to make it really kick ass? Down strokes until you need to play triplets. But playing bass with a pick unless its a triplet or a gallop use down strokes. It just sounds better on bass and defines the notes more evenly. You started really good on the eighths. Then you started the alternate picking which really loses definition. Try the same song using down strokes on the eighths and see how it sounds. But for whatever reason alternate picking on bass doesnt work unless you need to for triplets which are 12th notes. Gallops too.

  Firstly, fantastic playing. Being Irish we have a strong Trad. music scene and i can really recommend the album Eastwind, released by 2 famous Irish traditional player who transcribed traditional Balkan muisc with an Irish fusion! I will definitely look at getting a P5 or P5r soin, great basses.

  @@bugraergunn there is a better way to play these notes , they should be close together as possible so you don’t have to jump across the fretboard. At least as little as possible. l

  You can do it. Slow it down to a speed you can better handle. Its BPM is way too fast for a beginner to play cleanly. If you can't reduce the beats, then closely look at his bass tab and for right now play it without listening to the music until you build muscle memory. You can also play it at half-speed (84 BPM) and it'll sound fine. Break the tune down into parts, avoiding trying to figure out the entire song all at once. The main thing is to have fun trying and not lose your confidence as you're also building that too. Keep going!
