My ranking: 1/2/5 4 3. 1, 2 and 5 are quite interchangeable for me. All of them have their own respective strenghts and I cannot say that I prefer one over another. BUT I have to say that part 2 is hands down the most rewatchable movie of all of them. I lost count of how many times I already watched it (I think 7 times at least). Its nice seeing someone who thinks the same. It just has so many great scenes and builds up the suspense in such a good way. And on top of that it has one of the smartest scenes in the franchise which is the rehearsal scene (Most people dont even know the real purpose and background of this scene). Also Timothy Olyphants and Laurie Metcalfs performances are still one of the best of any killers in my opinion. By the way I really liked your way of speaking. Very clear and relaxing to be honest.
@lindsaylunari2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! I completely agree with you. 1, 2, and 5 are such amazing installments in the franchise! I love 2 so much. HAHA You also bring up an interesting point regarding the rehearsal scene. Can you tell me more? I have never thought in depth about it, but I am super intrigued.

@@lindsaylunari Okay so this is going to be kind of a lengthy comment, so sorry in advance haha: Sidney (being the main female heroin of the "tragic" scream franchise) is playing cassandra, the single female heroin of a greek tragic trilogy. Cassandra is able to foresee the future and sidney seeing and being attacked by ghostface as cassandra on stage is also "foreseeing" the future events of her being attacked by ghostface later on this exact stage where the rehearsal is being performed. The Oresteia (the play perfomed in the scene) is about Cassandra's life after she is cursed by Apollo. The Scream franchise is about Sidney's life after her mother's death, which can be considered a "curse" (represented by ghostface appearing in the play) as it sets in motion the tragic events of the entire series. A running theme in this play trilogy is murder and revenge. Clytemnestra kills Agamemnon for sacrificing their daughter and having an affair, and Orestes, their son, seeks revenge for his father's death and mother's affair by killing Clytemnestra, his mother. In this movie, Mrs. Loomis is seeking revenge from Sidney for the death of her son, who killed Sidney's mother for having an affair with his father. The climax of this film about familial murder and revenge plays out on the set of the play about familial murder and revenge.

@@dommevida_8721 that is amazing!! 🙌🏼 I never put any of that together before. It makes perfect sense and I am glad to have this information now. Thank you! I always understood that Sidney was special in the fact that she could really tap into the character of Cassandra, and her performance in the rehearsal conveyed so much emotion, but I never did a "deep dive" into all the symbolism and parallels of the two stories. Awesome!!
